I was only ten when this song was first out. Even though it's in stereo, it's still the same way that they played it on the radio; just the way I like it. Forty-five years later, I still love this song.
Mike pat yourself on the back for the work you have put into the golden oldies.
There are many good songs in old music .unlike the trash of today.
I love this song so much, I can't stop listening to it.
I love this song. I thought they were from the San Francisco Bay Area until I found out they were a British band. They perfectly have the American soul sound, down to the last beat. Thanks.
I was only 10 when this song first came out. Forty-nine years later, I still love this song!
IMO one of the greatest 10 pop songs of all time.
Me also !!!
Any Old Time Your Lonely Or Sad, there are The Foundations. This is an incredible recording of this song. UNI was a great record lable.
An oldie and a darn good one.

I love this song❤
This song has crept back into my life all over again here in March 2022. I was 12 years old when it first came out and ignored it. For some strange reason, I heard it again a few months back and it hit me. I'm LOVING it and it resonates more deeply now. I've lost a few people in my life recently and this song is comforting me more than I can say. Thank you for posting this. Peace
loving the memories along with the gorgeous sound! thanx
That bass is kicking in this version.
Mike, again, you never fail to disappoint. I remember playing this song time and time again. Your version is THE best. Thank you. GPM-53.

full-figured classic pop..and sweet stereo at that.
This one had that British pop power for sure...and yes, Buikd Me Up Buttercup weeks later. A short run, but a great one.
Wow, what a different intro from the usual stuff ! I like it , it reminds me of the older ( cooler) radio stations. A blast from the past ! Good job!

Good job MM so many of us enjoy that which you do so very well!
This and "Build Me Up, Buttercup" were this UK band's two big American hits. Produced by the legendary Tony Macaulay, who co-wrote it. He's responsible for dozens of hits that crossed over here in the 60's and early 70's. Interesting that Pye worked a deal with MCA's Uni (Universal City Records) subsidiary to release it here; they usually did it themselves.
PYE was a British-based label that started life in the early-to-mid-1950s under the name "Nixa". They acquired the PYE brand when in 1959 PYE Electrical wanted to enter the recording business but had neither studios nor processing plant, but what PYE DID have was a well-established distribution system for its electrical goods(stereo and mono record players and radiograms, TV sets, white goods and such). Nixa had the studios and record processing plant but had a poorly-developed distribution network, so the two got together and for the first several issues the label was "PYE Nixa". The Nixa name disappeared off the label but lived on in the catalogue prefix 7N-(with 5-digit catalogue number). The arrangement was dissolved in the late 1970s with the record company becoming PRT(Precision Records & Tapes) around 1978 or 1979. PYE had a presence in Canada(because Canada is a member country of the British Commonwealth) and still had a presence in New Zealand though the brand disappeared from Australia around 1963 when Astor won distribution rights for the PYE product here. PYE could also be found in some parts of Europe but most of the EU countries had divisions of the Vogue label which carried PYE releases there. It's usually Warner that carries PYE in the USA but occasionally MCA gets hold of the odd PYE release.
Great sound never gets old.
Winding back to the year 1968
1967. It was No.1 when I was born.
I just love the music mike channel it’s all the music I love
Best version of this ever!
Ace, nice hear the seperation...
Shallow Hal
This is a really good song in stereo. You cant find it in stereo on any foundation albums/cds.
Reminds me of the NOGALES HIGH SCHOOL Pom Poms dancing to this tune, Beautiful girls, wonderful tune, great times.
good song of the 60's from the Foundations...a good group...nice vid....Rusty
It almost sounds this way on CKLW's double 2-LP set "Solid Gold" radio compilation from 1971, only that Post Records of Philadelphia used the "balance-change" fake stereo leased from Eric Records issued around the same time. Since then, there have been improved DES stereo versions of this song on CZcams.
Always like this oneThanks Mike
We always played at our 8th grade dances. And, of course, "Build Me Up Buttercup".
Another fave was "The Worst That Could Happen" .
Sixties Seventies decade y'all rock and roll even eighties
I love the late 60s early 70s era
YEAH! Thanks Mike!
Anyone else think like I do that this is the better of their 2 hits? Love the simple little snare rolls during “spent my lifetime looking for somebody to give me love like you...🎤
NICE ONE...haven't heard this one in stereo in many years...thanks Mike
Flashback favorites I get mostly on all of my devices I love life
Heard the radio voice, subscribed.
Also, The Foundations didn't last as long as they should've
Thank you.
Great job. Sounds great. I teach dance and only had the mono version. So great to have this.
For the longest time I thought this was a song by Steve Winwood/Spencer Davis Group
Good shit Mike I love what your doing here i subscribed!
often touted as one of Britain's answers to Motown sound this group had a racial mix of 3 white Brits, 3 West Indians and a Sri Lankan, a theme that repeated famously with Hot Chocolate, Fine Young Cannibals and others.
Best way to get on together is to play in a team or sing in a band
***lovin' it ,,, thanks !!! :)
Great 😃👍 song stereo or mono I can't tell the difference Allison Krause also has a great version.
Check out the Allison Krauss cover. Brilliant.
HI Mike, great choice of music in your collection. It's refreshing to hear your re-mixes .. it's like bringing the music back to life and hearing in a way I never heard before. Fabulous ! Are they available for download. ? Can I make suggestions to you here for re-mixing
I didn't actually do the mix on this one.....although I have many posts of one's that i did create. Don't think I can legally offer them for download since i don't own the rights to it...but do pay music royalties through my internet radio station, kvkvi.com It's complicated. Sure, what suggestion would you like to make?
Wow sounds awesome I have the mono version but this is the best
I love your stereo versions of 60s hits. they are among the best of youtube music videos.Congrats!
Que buena cancion , impresionante--
I believe this was an alternate stereo version with original vocal overdub ? Mike ? I've had this for about 7 years on an MP3.
nice one
Music Mike--you deliver a treasure trove. This cut also seems to a slightly faster tempo--thoughts?
helios1912 Yes, it does, But then, back in the day....many record companies released faster versions of the actual original recording, usually found on the album. They did this to create a little extra "hype" on the radio and to get more airplay. Radio stations always prefer shorter songs....that way they can play more commercials!
Music Mike--thanks for the reply. So many times I comment on posts that feel like I'm dropping a note in a bottle. XM Radio uses album cuts of these 60s and 70s hits. I've been liking "60s on 6" on XM Radio.
We used to speed them up if they didn't to make the song we played sound 'brighter' than the competition. Manipulating a Gates CB-500 turntable could be difficult. Done badly, you've got David Seville and the Chipmunks.
@@rjmcallister1888 Alvin!
Never heard the handclaps before.
I'm fascinated with the label. Unlike the Capitol 45 swirl label which "unwinds" as the record turns clockwise, this label swirls the opposite. Perhaps for use in the southern hemisphere? :)
MCA started the Uni (Universal City) label around 1966 for its' pop and rock releases (more mainstream material would be on US Decca or Coral). Neil Diamond, Strawberry Alarm Clock and Elton John were also on the label. MCA folded all its labels into one MCA Records in 1971; that was the end of Uni.
UNI label is cool.
shallow hal brought me here
Music Mike,
Nice job on this one. How about a STEREO version of "Winchester Cathedral" by The New vaudeville Band.
I love this song. But, why is Jamie Foxx in the middle of the band picture?
That's not Jamie Fox! This record is dated to the late 1960s(1967). Jamie Fox wouldn't have even reached his teens back then.
nimickhay that's the lead singer lol...
Mike-DES,DCS or a possible sync?
who is the original that song?
Seems like 1968 was only yesterday.
In 1968, I was listening to the Boss Jocks on Famous 56, WFIL, here in Philly and watching Green Acres each week on CBS.
a typical dj voice.
cruiser .
