    Carry low currency bills too. Singles through twenties. Makes things more negotiable. From experience.

    About everything being "negotiable": People in Mexico are not rich, a few dollars for you might not make a difference in your every day life, but for many of them it means a lot. Keep this in mind and try to be generous, as human beings we must take care of each other.

      Javier Gonzalez quite the contrary Javier you will find crime wherever you seek it Mexico can be an extremely great safe and awesome place and it can also be a very dangerous place I've been stabbed twice there I'm not saying that that happens to everybody by any means but I will say people that are going there to party and that are unfamiliar with the rules regulations and how things are going should be safe and this video can be helpful to many people I've been there many many many times since the age of 12 years old I'm now 35 and I've gone more X than I've been alive you are going to view this video in whichever way you want I'm simply giving people tips on what I know is a reality in Puerto Penasco when you cross the border you are in a different place and you need to know these things thank you so much for watching my video and I'm glad you had a good life have a beautiful day and remember to spread love not hate

    • @1bigimpact
      @1bigimpact  Před 5 lety

      That's an interesting way of thinking about it but I feel like if that was the truth then there would be a fixed rate they wouldn't start at $300 and take 15 because it's all you had in your wallet I've been to this region close to a hundred times and I feel it's safe to say that it is corrupt it doesn't mean it's a bad place I love Mexico and I also love Rocky Point I will probably be down there in the near future but unfortunately it is corrupt

    Great video, great advice. I used to go to rocky point quite often between 1991 and 1997, I was between the ages of 16 and 22. My uncle has a cabin in Cholla bay that he bought in 1988 and still has. He always had several ATC's, one of which was always the one that I rode. Here is a funny, true story... It was either 1992 or 1993 so I was either 17 or 18. I was riding through Cholla bay and the policia pulled me over for speeding. They had this old Chevy van that was sitting on blocks and there were metal bars welded across where the windows used to be, it was a makeshift jail cell. They chained my 3-wheeler to that van until I drove to the courthouse in rocky point, paid a $20.00 fine and brought the receipt back to them. LOL! In 1998 my uncle gave me that same 3-wheeler because it had been sitting and not many people were spending very much time down there. So I brought it home to Tucson and got it all cleaned and fixed up for my girlfriend to ride. then at one point the dirt bike that I normally rode wasn't running so my friend and I took the ATC out riding. Now the not so funny part of the story, I passed down from dehydration while I was going about 50 MPH and when I did I went off the trail and hit a mesquite tree which broke four vertebrae in my neck, pinched my spinal cord and left me paralyzed from the chest down. I went back to rocky point in 2004 and again in 2006 but I haven't been back since. It made me sick to my stomach when I saw a circle K convenience store there! I liked it much better back in the early 90's when there was no electricity, we had oil lamps in the cabin. Another true story , I also had my car stolen from a bar called Ranas Ranas that used to be close to the Pitaya bar. My friend and I walked the back streets of rocky point fighting off stray dogs for a few miles before we caught a cab. That was an interesting night to say the least! I have a lot of great memories of rocky point! Thanks for sharing the video and have a great day!

I've lived here 11 years. it is 3rd world country in that it's not democracy here.its COOL if you get stopped for minor [ run stop sign,seatbelt,speed, etc) pay cop on the STREET.If you go to comandante station, you have to pay more Policia,judge,etc. givi him $20 USD [ they love dolares) be happy.no court dates, no points off license etc.also pain meds vicodan ,percocet,morphinr is extremely expensive ! no sctipt needed.$11 for Vicodan percs. $20 for 30 mg.oxy.xanax[bars),valium, etc. are cheap, viagra, antibiotics? cheap.no scrjpt. Also, FEDERALES??!!! DO NOT EVEN LOOK OR SMILE OR SAY BOO!!! AND IF YOU HAVE NO PASSPORT, YOU CAN PLEAD IGNORANCE ABD USE LICENSE.BIRTH CERTIFICATE ETC. A passport is needed when flying. Driving you only need a birth certificate and an ID. But get a passport if you can.
    The border is closed from 12am-6am. Don't get stuck out there it's really fucking boring.
    Make sure you have a good cell phone provider. Having service will make a huge difference.
    When you get gas they will have people to pump it for you. Make sure they're actually pumping the gas.
    Carry cash, but not too much. Be smart everyone knows you have cash on you.
    Don't stop for anyone unless they're government officials.
    Wear protection.
    It's not that bad of a place, but remember that every big city has problems.
    Have fun.
