I love seeing Sons of Horus regardless of whether they win or lose. Thematically the coolest legion. Bringing the points cost down on their elite units would do a lot to bring their value up to par with the other legions.
Yeah those Justerian are far to expensive
@@SNBattleReports - Thousand Sons' Sekhmet Terminators have entered the chat.
Justaerin Terminators are decently priced, but the Fulmentarus and other UM (and IF, DA, and BA) units are massively under-costed. They are the problem.
@@andrewbakescakes9684 😂
I have yet to lose a game with my Sons of Horus haha
@@starwarsfanon128 - Nice! Always happy to hear fellow traitors are pulling in some wins.
"Rule of cool is how we play here." Brother rule of cool is the most important part! I havent played or painted Horus Heresy but you better believe im getting a age of Darkness box and Horus! Horus Heresy is just AWESOME!
Well said!
I think Battle hardened is the way to go on the sky hunters. I have used them in 8 or 9 games now and they are always ok but not really worth their points. They are priced a bit too high. I think t5 would be too much though as then they are just way better when stuck in combat with normal marines. Battle hardened is fair if they don't see a price hike T5 would be ok if their points go up.
Exactly they are ok… but not for the points. Battle hardens is the way forward
Heard a few suggestions.
T5,BH, can always shroud fir free, 2+ save.
No idea what would fix them abit but something is needed.
Great battle report just getting our sons of horus painting and almost finished building our ultramarines. So this was perfect to watch
Awesome! Glad you enjoyed 😃
Really enjoyed this one guys. Normally I do enjoy the 30k battle reports, but this time it definitely felt like I was in the room sharing those highs and lows.
This is awesome to hear thanks!

@@SNBattleReports I have, and I’m eager to support once funds allow.
The Arvus lighter appearance was what the fans wanted!
Haha yes it was 🙌🏽
I was so distracted by the landing platform in the middle, so gloriously full of crates, that i almost didnt notice Cheesemaster Pardo rolling shaggy's sixes like it was judgement day #poorsteve #quesoasesino #MasterClassReport
😂
Each time waiting for this "Both armies are deployed and ready for WAAAAR" same as for report itself)
🙌🏽
Great game! As a big 30k player myself I love seeing this thematic fight! SOH are my personal legion as well though the whole time I’m screaming to Stevie telling him take the lascannon and plasma deredeo!
Haha we actually have one
run the jetbikes with MM and hid them behind terrain turn one and destroy tanks. jetbikes are fine the way they are and normally kill way above their points.
I'm thinking add a Herald too so you can steal objectives as you run to the next one
Tried MM so many times but you just need to get far to close to get the. Eat out of them. I have seen many complaints about bikes though
@@SNBattleReportsJavelins make a great alternative to the Jetbikes. Relatively inexpensive, tough for their points cost, and Lascannons! Outflank does a lot to keep your opponent on their toes.
@@sublyme1994second the javelins are great. Jetbikes with white scars are good as you can get them as troops and line.
I love the HH content!
Thanks ♥️
such great looking armies; and both are my favorite HH armies too
Same here!
I'm always wondering if your Space Marines are so vibrantly painted or if you just have incredible lighting in your studio. Either way, I love the result.
Thanks! Lighting is good but some of the armies are very nice colours
Love it!!
So glad!
Brilliant! Fantastic entertainment.
Thanks Boss
I think at point size this large, you need more terrain. Lots more. There was nowhere to hide, and I felt the game was over after first turn was seized.
I have to disagree I think Heresy rules are great for not needed a lot of terrain. I think there was enough on the table for a great game. Maybe some more tall pieces instead
@@SNBattleReports - I guess it depends on what people bring. Horus Heresy's current rules give a lot of advantages to gunlines. Things like being able to fallback and hold the line cancelling charge bonuses make the melee game much harder.
Add to that the lethality of some long ranged weapons...
It was still a tight game. Maybe I just have bias because I am a traitor at heart, ha ha ha.
For the Warmaster!!
Very nice batrap, great lists.
Glad you enjoyed it
I really like the format you used
Thanks Phillip
Fantastic! ❤
Thank you! 😄
Keep in mind primarchs chose who they roll wound agisnt so horus could have chosen to kill the prator
Yeah forgot that one
Fantastic game really enjoyed it 😎
Thanks boss
those are some bright blue ultramarines
Yep that’s the colour 😆
CPT PARDO & STEVIE G !! ❤❤❤❤❤
Popping soem HEAVY REDWOOD OVA HEYA !! ⚡️⚡️⚡️
Steveeeeeeeee 🙌🏽
I mean rerolling the Spartans shots when you do a bad roll vs not re rolling the plasma …… that seemed pretty gaming
Sorry?
That Ultramarine Praetor is fantastic ! Where is the thunder hammer from?
I think it’s from third company
I think making the upgrades on reavers/ justaerin cheaper is ok but end of they day they just need buffing. Justaerin are meant to be the tip of the spear yet they cant DS without Abbs,Horus or RoW. They are meant to be elite abd feared...but they just guys with furious charge. Contrast to stuff like Cenobium, huscarls or etc and they look woeful.
Similar for Reavers.
Super Horus is fun but hes so costly that he kinda hamstrings you in games under 5-6k i think as you need the justaerin abd maybe a medicae then a spartan or larger unit to DS so you survive all the interceptor.
Id love to see the SoH trait get breaching 6+ or +1 to breaching on the charge. Give them something offensive to maximise the chances you get when you can charge.
The -1 str thing is quite easy to negate and just doesnt feel fluffy at all.
I dont mind losing games, but playing games where you only get see your legion trait a few times and taking your legion units isnt worth it and your legion weapon is poor is just dull.
The last three games with my SoH my LT only came up once...ramming a rhino into a squad. Rest of the time it was moot via s9 dreads or s10 solarite fists or etc.
Agree they for starters need to be cheaper I also think they need battle hardened
@SNBattleReports it's a very under used rule for sure.
I just want them to feel fluffy. How you'd expect them to play.
When I use my IW I'm taking grav mauls and shrapnel guns. I use my LT multiple times every turn abd it *feels* like I'm playing IW.
Doesn't take anything from this report, though.
Beautiful armies, beautiful table and played in good spirit as it should be.
I came back to HH in 2.0 ,having stopped when 40k 8th hit. So currently working hard to get a fully painted army up
I don't think the lascannon squad should have fled because u don't take morale tests from reactions. Was a great battle report anyways really enjoyed it!
If it was from a reaction then you are correct
Great battle report. Just pointing out that you guys are pronouncing justaerin as justaerion. You can confirm from the audibooks that it’s just-air-in
Awesome thanks
Heresy. Jaffa Cakes are definitely not biscuits.
😂 please give proof
I’m not sure if you’re miscalculating penetrating hits. On the SoH Spartan in round one you got a 15 and said it was a pen, but with the flare shield it was av15 so only a glance, the same thing happened on around 39mins with the predator well you rolled a 13 and said it’s a pen (it didn’t actually matter in this instance as it was the last wound) but I think you need to roll above the AV for a pen not equal or above. Loved the batrep though, fulmentarus are a bit naughty but I’ve had to resort to using them against my DG opponent with his walking lascannon squads!
Yeah need to roll over but I’ve gone back and rewatched and seems we did it ok
Are you sure? 27 mins in the auto cannon strength 7 against the Spartan, you get the 6 for rending bringing it up to 13, then you roll a 2 on the d3 for the rend bringing it to 15 (av value with the flare shield so equal not above) but you say it’s a penetrating hit. Sorry I’m not trying to be pedantic just wondering if I’ve missed something with how rending should work
I've worked out what happened, you took -1 off the strength of the autocannon for the flare shield (the correct interpretation of the rule) whereas In my head I was adding one to the AV - Ignore me!
@@thedarkmillennium3788 yes haha it’s a bit confusing to be honest
Keen as Mustard for this
🙌🏽
Thank guys, here in italy we love Pardo, less the ultramarine 😂 !!! GoTraitors this time
♥️
Just an FYI if the Justarians are a retinue the SOH went over their LOW/primarch allowance
Yep we mention at the start exactly this. But we allowed it as it’s a silly rule 😂
We also said they could have just gone - the banner into Troop choices using this rite of war
Would you guys consider using the liber panoptica ruleset? It makes things like the fulmintaris much more reasonable
Sadly not in reports. People would not be happy
@@SNBattleReports really? That seems... Bizarre almost. Given the nature of heresy (haha game quote) I'd have expected a rule set that had tons of quality of life, plus new units and characters would be a slam dunk option.
Fun game to watch. We just all have to live with 30K and 40K and the you-go-I-go with GW rules, lol. I've been on a bad streak of going second lately and also getting obliterated and the game being effectively decided in turn 1.
Yeah going second in 40K it’s devastating
Enthralling!!!
🙌🏽
Yay
Where are the flames from?
Deadly print studios
Couldnt you have the Praetor take the command squad and add Horus after to keep it legal?
You can’t add anything to a command squad sadly
@@SNBattleReports ahh shame, apologies
Are Fulmentarus even cheese when you have them out in the open and not using guided fire? XD
Haha problem you need to get into range before you do that
Very cool game! Couple of issues with the SoH list.
Lascannons suppport squads have heavy so need to start in reserve or in a transport. They can't start the game on the table. Perhaps you've house ruled this as well but primarch + command squads count towards the 25% now according to the latest faq so the unit as is breaks that limit. As I say you may of house ruled this though! Neither point affected my enjoyment of the bat rep though!
Good spot Mr Medders! Hadn’t even realized they had the heavy sub type this means they reroll armour saves vs blasts wow
As for the 25% Stevie G mentions it in his introduction of list you must have missed it, he states he knows it’s over but that it’s a silly rule and could easily fix it by loosing the banner and putting them into troop choices.
Thanks for the kind words and keep up the heresy content. Big fans here
@SNBattleReports totally the right call on the 25% rule. Its so stoopid.
Two thing you forgot is the Sons of Horus Legion rule that makes enemy attacks -1S on the first round of combat, so power fists and thunderhammers are S7 and chainswords would be S3. The other thing is that Primarchs can choose how to allocate their wounds, so Horus could put all of his attacks into the Praetor without being in a challenge.
Perfect! Yeah forgot about the Primarch rule but thought we did the Sons of Horus rule
Hope you enjoyed the game
Ahhh MOLECH 👍
🙌🏽
Great Batrep! I didnt recall Molech, but I googled it and loved its inclusion as a narrative framework for the battle! Fulmentaris 🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮
Glad you enjoyed it! Molech segment is amazing
This day the Sons of Horus were not beaten by the Ultramarines. Instead, the Sons of Horus were beaten by Stevie G and his abysmal dice rolling skills..
Great game as always, lads! 😁
Thanks Hannah!
sky hunters need at least battle hardened. I think that is appropriate.
Whoever wrote the rules for bikes is total arse.
Yep agree
I can't see the point of playing SoH. Basically every unit specific to this Legion is heavily overpriced, even Horus, with poor Legion rules. A beautiful heart of passion and as usual a beautiful report - but the game, no surprises, was very one-sided.
Not playing is very drastic for a game of toy soldiers. I’ve always played the game to have fun doesn’t matter the outcome. I am glad however you have enjoyed the game and armies. Thanks for watching
@@SNBattleReports Playing with an army that does not win most duels is OK. But let's be honest - SoH are always losing. There is only one game on all of CZcams with them winning, and it was your game with modified rules. Without it, they simply have little chance, and the incredibly weak rules spoil the layer of atmosphere from the books.
This army does not have the slightest argument on the battlefield. The main rule of the legion is turned off by the opponent and whenever he wants. All special units come at a sick point cost and the additional rules promote melee combat, which is weak in this edition - and vehicles, which are not particularly suited to attacking the enemy because they either cost a fortune in points or are just hopeless.
The game can be forgiven a lot, GW was never perfect. But what is happening to SoH in HH 2.0 is a drama. I could turn a blind eye to the poor rules, but they are further hammered by nightmarish point pricing.
It doesn't change the fact that I love your channel and enjoy watching your battle reports.
@@AirsoftAddictedthats way too negative, SoH might not have cheap special units but their legion rule can be really good. Good tactics and dice rolls win games usually. Personally I do not like SoH rules as they dont fit their story.
@@3v3rhard Their legion rule can't be good as it's turned off by a single enemy reaction. Of course, tactics matter - but of greater importance is that Reavers with 3+ are at the price of loyalist elites with 2+ and the same statline and often already Power Weapon as standard.
I fully agree with SoH rules missing their story.
I'm playing 30k, although with heavy "home" ruleset or even easier way to play it - go for One Pages Rules.
One Page Rules… 🤮🤮🤮
The terrain looked fantastic, shame it was H H 😢
Sadly you wouldn’t be able to play 40K on this terrain 😔
Was it Horus Ascended? because base Horus shouldn't go over the 25% at 3k also those are the Sicaran Arcus not Scorpius.
Yeah Arcus champ! Did we say Scorpius? Also if you watch the army introduction we go over the 25% cap and why we have done it. 😃
I hope you liked something at least of the game 😉
@@SNBattleReports yeah it didn't click right away it's not Horus putting you over its his retinue I blanked on that being part of his points
@@retroguy95 no probs champ
