- B.J. and the Bear is an American comedy television series which aired on NBC from February 10, 1979, to May 9, 1981. Created by Glen A. Larson and Christopher Crowe, the series stars Greg Evigan. The series was produced when the CB radio and trucking craze had peaked in the United States, following the 1974-1976 television series Movin' On, the number one song "Convoy" (1975) by C. W. McCall, as well as the films White Line Fever (1975), Smokey and the Bandit (1977), Convoy (1978), and Every Which Way but Loose (1978).
I toured Universal Studio back in the early 80's & was fortunate to meet Greg Evigan as the show was being filmed. He was lovely.
I got to meet him when they were filming an episode down the street from me. And one of the prop masters taught me how to play backgammon (it was summer, so I wasn't in school).
I loved this show and Moving On
Greg Evigan sporting the Han Solo 70's hair!
I would love to see the re runs of this show on ME TV , or Antenna TV.
Unfortunately from what I understand, after the major fire they had at the studio, all the original reels & any copies were destroyed. We can only hope someone recorded all seasons back in the day.
@@oldaccount9746WHAT??? That must be why every other hideously undeserving shit show has been released and not this classic. 😢😢
Me too loved this show
I liked this show, and "Sheriff Lobo".
Both series were being filmed together, at The Dunes, in Las Vegas in 1979. If not, 1979, then 1980.
I met Greg Evigan, and got a couple quick photos with him, with my pocket camera. He's 6'2" or 6'3". Nice cologne, similar to Lagerfeld. (I didn't ask the name of his cologne, or aftershave.)
A crew member also folded up a 'B.J.AND THE BEAR' placard, to place on the dashboard of one of the vehicles or trucks; and gave it to me! He quietly said to me, "Don't tell anyone." (I didn't ask his name.)
I still have that placard, and the photos! They're in my storage unit.
Fun memory.
Too bad, the theme song wasn't heard on the radio. It would have been a hit, most likely, because 'B.J. McKay' was a popular character on the series.
I loved this show, it was a childhood fave for me in NYC, along with Dukes of Hazzard, Incredible Hulk, Misadventures of Sheriff Lobo etc...
Andre the Giant was on this show in one episode and he made 6'3" Evigan look like a peanut.
I just watched the episode about the witch

Can you buy this series on Amazon? Heard there was a dispute with the people who wrote the music?

Good thing "The Bear" never went apeshit and tried to kill BJ.
Like they had to have different orangutans to play Clyde in the Clint Eastwood movies?
@@doughessonthey killed those poor orangutans and Clint Eastwood didn't give a shit

Did BJ ever have to SPAMK Bear?
I blame Clint Eastwood for this...
I LOVED this show as a kid (yup, I'm old), but this theme song is ASTONISHINGLY awful. Oh well, I got a kick out of it for sure. 👍👍👍
He would be 10x more gorgeous if he didn't dye his hair
But it's ok for women to wear foundation, blusher, lipstick, eye shadow, false eyelashes, toner, bronzer, hair extensions, mascara, foundation, bolt-on tits and wig is it?
This was so bad.
