Long live Coconut! I’m a fan of all your content. Best wishes!
Thanks John! Coconut says hi!
Nice work - meticulous, with a quality finish.
My own method is just like yours, but I like to stabilize the hole entrance before drilling (yup, with cyanoacrylate glue) then drill for a substantially larger hardwood dowel, sized so the strap button will just cover the repair.
Hey Richard thanks for showing me this trick. I myself have used the tooth pick method and you are right about it coming back out on you. Well have a good night my friend and I hope you didn`t cut yourself too bad. Take care and thinks for the video.
Thanks Dennis you have a good one sir!
I've been doing this the ghetto way for a long time. Next time it happens ill remember this better method, especially since I have the tools.
Great video dude! I have used the other methods you talked about and they last ok, but this is much better. Thanks!
No problem man, thank you for watching!
Great video man. I learned titebond is an axes ky 😉. Man I’ve seen so many of those put in wrong nice to have a video out there the proper way I say. Thanks for another video man keep up the great work. Always nice spotting coconut Struttin in the background
Thanks man! haha
Awesome repair, I use maple dowels made for cakes, I mostly do neck dowels. Kudos for that improv bandaid...lol.
Thanks Mike! Old mechanic's band-aid, haha.
What diameter is the dowel rod?
Is it good to use the eye on the guitar for the strap ? I’m learning the guitar so I have tons of questions
What do you mean by 'eye of the guitar'?
@@ForsytheVideo you know like evh eyelet hoop for quick release of the strap.
@@Wannaridebikes Well whatever works for you, I use locking straps, that way I can use them on every guitar I own without having to modify my strap buttons.
@@ForsytheVideo right I am learning to play again. And the strap thing I’m just seeing ideas locking strap I’ll check that out.
We want more content Richard.😒 Basswood like the fish. Not Basswood like the guitar.😉 Thanks for explaining that you should predrill before screwing. Most people don't know.
Good video. I'd do it this way but the guitar I have is kind of not worth a lot of money. Hi coconut
What brand is the guitar ?
An old Dean.
@@ForsytheVideo I still have the Switch Bass. I wouldn't mind trading even up for another guitar . As you know , the Switch bass is rather heavy and I don't want to risk dropping it. I used the toothpick method for a striped screw on the bridge . Everything else is original and not modified . It just needs a volume pot. If you've interested , IM me through Facebook messenger . Have a great day .
I knew you were gonna cut your thumb the way you were cutting the dowel.
You should have warned me
@@ForsytheVideo Sorry. 😂
How long did you let it dry? You and every other video say “a little while” but the glue bottle says 24hr cure time. Do I have to wait 24hrs before drilling?
About 3 hours is enough for regular wood glue. The reason we say 'a little while' is because we don't what glue you're using, so times may differ.
Anybody else holding their breath when he is cutting with the razor blade TOWARDS his thumb, instead of AWAY from it.🤣
Yes me, the guy using the razor
