    Nice work - meticulous, with a quality finish.
    My own method is just like yours, but I like to stabilize the hole entrance before drilling (yup, with cyanoacrylate glue) then drill for a substantially larger hardwood dowel, sized so the strap button will just cover the repair.

    Hey Richard thanks for showing me this trick. I myself have used the tooth pick method and you are right about it coming back out on you. Well have a good night my friend and I hope you didn`t cut yourself too bad. Take care and thinks for the video.

    I've been doing this the ghetto way for a long time. Next time it happens ill remember this better method, especially since I have the tools.

    Awesome repair, I use maple dowels made for cakes, I mostly do neck dowels. Kudos for that improv bandaid...lol.

    Is it good to use the eye on the guitar for the strap ? I’m learning the guitar so I have tons of questions

      What do you mean by 'eye of the guitar'?

      @@Wannaridebikes Well whatever works for you, I use locking straps, that way I can use them on every guitar I own without having to modify my strap buttons.

    We want more content Richard.😒 Basswood like the fish. Not Basswood like the guitar.😉 Thanks for explaining that you should predrill before screwing. Most people don't know.

    Good video. I'd do it this way but the guitar I have is kind of not worth a lot of money. Hi coconut

      @@ForsytheVideo I still have the Switch Bass. I wouldn't mind trading even up for another guitar . As you know , the Switch bass is rather heavy and I don't want to risk dropping it. I used the toothpick method for a striped screw on the bridge . Everything else is original and not modified . It just needs a volume pot. If you've interested , IM me through Facebook messenger . Have a great day .

    I knew you were gonna cut your thumb the way you were cutting the dowel.

  • @justincox2479
    @justincox2479 Před rokem

    How long did you let it dry? You and every other video say “a little while” but the glue bottle says 24hr cure time. Do I have to wait 24hrs before drilling?

    • @ForsytheVideo
      @ForsytheVideo  Před rokem

      About 3 hours is enough for regular wood glue. The reason we say 'a little while' is because we don't what glue you're using, so times may differ.
