Lake Van (2nd camp spot)

We really liked Lake Van. Monique had another potentially nice camp spot just opposite Carpanak island. There is an abandoned Armenian monastery on the island, but at current waterlevel you cannot reach it by foot. The final few km of the track was “interesting” as the ground next to the track was very soft and it was getting late. Fortunately we could spot the few oncoming cars well ahead. The spot is beautiful. Green pastures, cows, almond tree blossom, water and snow capped mountains are special for us Dutch folks. We spent a few days there, also doing laundry, some truck maintenance etc. We met many friendly folks, as the spot is well known with people in the area. We were given cakes, sweets, local cheese and Mustafa and Cahit made us tea in their traditional way. We loved it.
