    You don't need an extra limb factory!
    Each bot takes 1 head, 1 torso, and 4 limbs (2 arms, 2 legs). The head and torso each take 18hrs, the limbs take 4.5hrs - meaning one of each factory produces enough for one bot every 18 hours.
    You only need to double-up on the assembler 😉

    Bots don't always make great haulers, unless they're in small districts. When they run out of fuel, they go reeeaaally slow, and won't stop to refuel until they complete their current task. A 50/50 mix of beavers and bots might be preferred, especially in larger districts, since beavers don't slow down nearly as much if they get hungry or thirsty mid-haul.

    • @ragerancher
      @ragerancher Před 19 dny +1

      Dot small fuel storages around the district with fuel and you rarely encounter this.

    • @richardlanglois172
      @richardlanglois172 Před 19 dny +1

      @@ragerancher not quite correct. If a bot picks up a haul when it has 5% fuel left, and it has to take that haul to the other side of the district, a task that will consume, say, 15% fuel, it will spend 2/3rds of that trip _craaaaaaawling_ its way across the map.
      Any beaver or bot will not eat or drink or refuel in the middle of a task. It doesn't matter what that task is, or how long it will take, once they start, they will not interrupt themselves, even for basic needs.
      The bot _will_ refuel, eventually. After it drops off the haul, it will immediately head to a barrel or charging station to refuel or recharge. But it will not go to refuel until it drops off that haul first.
      The reason this is so bad is that a bot in need of refuelling drops to 10% speed immediately. A hungry or thirsty beaver loses only 50% or 25% move speed, respectively. Which means even a starving dehydrated beaver moves 2.5× faster than an unfueled bot.

    • @ragerancher
      @ragerancher Před 19 dny +1

      @@richardlanglois172 If it picks up at 5%, which is pretty rare as it is as they look to refuel before they get to 0.
      Every so often a bot will rarely get stuck in a situation where it is very slowly crawling across the map. That is offset by faster speed, greater carrying capacity and working 24/7. A bot will outperform a beaver, even if it has a period where it has to refuel. If you play with stupidly large districts then maybe it will be problematic but that's kinda the whole point of districts. If you're playing with districts where bots are constantly running out of fuel, that should be the least of your worries as you'd have massive inefficiencies all over the place. Bots working haulers and district crossings help keep a good balance of goods, particularly things like food and water, which tend to take a massive hit to their supply in 1 go and would not be replenished until the next day with beaver haulers.

    I guess the end goal of this series is when most beavers are replaced by bots. May i suggest an alternative end goal: cover as much land as possible with trees. Returning the forrest to the land. I don’t think there is an achievement for it, but i can assure you that once done the view that you get is a well deserved reward
    I think right now most of the water from the source flow down to the large water gate. Dunno if this would improve your power generations on that small river: May i suggest to built a dam on the main river path on the same level of those 2 small water gates you just build.

    So with the flow rate, I'd stick some water meters near your water wheels to measure it. But I'd look at where the water flows into there as most of the water flows down to the main river. I'd look at maybe sticking a line of levies in the middle to split the flow how you want it.
    Also the refineries don't actually need power by the way, you should be about to plonk them wherever

  • @apt40444
    @apt40444 Před 20 dny +2

    Suggestions:
    Dedicated maples for catalyst production (gunna need ~200 trees to keep up). Ditto for wood - ~100 oaks to fuel the plank/gear factories
    Restaff factories & hauling posts before farms - Factories cause injuries, hauling post beavers seem to be the most unhappy - Greater well-being gives you the bonus status attributes on flesh beavers like catalyst and punch cards gives to bots.
    Scatter small storage + barrels around the map w/ biofuel/catalyst/punch cards - a fuel-less bot moves super slow.

  • @stue2298
    @stue2298 Před 20 dny +2

    For the waterwheels, what you are did is 2 into 3 which will make the water flow slower and therefore less power, what you want is 3 into 2 which will make the water flow faster and then that will make more power.
    Try not to squeeze the water too much or you may get flooding.
    There is a helpful flow rate indicator that you can build to help you calculate the flow rates.
    The stones at the water source produce water so if you have 6 you want the combination of all the choke points to be 6 to get maximum flow rate and maximum power at no risk of flooding.

    I've been using the same map with the other faction, I've got about 150 beavers and 150 bots now... A reservoir and overflow channel that will keep everything flowing during droughts and bad water. I've capped the badwater wells and open them permanently so badwater power wheels is always on even during droughts. I have so many trees being planted that I never drop below 2k stored which is handy because I have about 20 engines, 2 giant and connected power towers and so many water wheels and beaver powered wheels that I'm producing over 18k bp (beaverpower not horesepower) and can let the bots run factories 24/7 and never run out of power ever again. At peak use I'm consuming about 14k bp to run everything.
    Once I could lay down new terrain blocks... I've reshaped the entire map... levelled mountains with explosives, filled rivers to narrow them down for water wheel efficiency and cut channels to spread water to the farthest reaches at the edges of the map.
    By the time I'm finished... aside from the badwater mountain and the water mountain... it will be a flat map filled with trees, food and the 2 mines... and 150 lazy beavers living a life of luxury as the bots do all the work. Only 50 of them are living it up at the moment.

    You don't need bots in farms, because they are usually bottlenecked by storage, not how fast things grow, and they are mostly just waiting for the crops to grow. Also increase storage for bot limbs, you need more than for others because there are more pieces per bot to be stored. I find that usually, you don't need double production for limbs because they are made faster anyway.
    I would replace all the barrel storage by the giant barrels, it's a shame to waste work and time by having storage full. You'll most likely need to double up biofuel production because you are making A LOT of bots and they'll drink very much.

    Hi Biffa… fluid dynamics? Make the stream wider so more water goes down it, not narrower, then narrow it at the side of the wheels so water doesn’t sneak around the sides. If possible a step down just after the wheels will speed up the flow too . Didn’t like the “series finale” comment tho 😢

    Bots should be prioritized, in my opinion, like so
    Bot parts/assembly/fuel
    Production buildings (planks, gears, etc) including badwater
    Hauling Posts
    Water pumps
    Gatherers
    Builders
    Finally Farms
    Farms should be LAST because of their long wait times, its not productive to have bots sitting around waiting on crops all night, its better to have them work on production/gathering/misc jobs first.

    6:43 I’m not sure it is just an ironteeth thing. The adware dome was available to me on my first game. You can also just dam it up so it spills off the side.

      Folktails dome can only close off badwater, Ironteeth can additionally force the badwater open during drought.

    I feel like having the bots take most/all jobs is kinda of a waste. It would be more interesting if you could have them working in shifts. You could have your beavers working for a set period( let's say 8 hrs) and have the bots take over for the other 16 hours while your beavers enjoy their rest time.

    Also, the bots have their own employment metrics in the fourth line in the top left.

  • @MsEgwene

    Theres a tab under the number of unemployed beavers, that tells you how many unemployed bots you have. Next to it is the number of job openings for bots. You kept adding bots to workplaces when you didn't have unemployed bots, which means you're just stealing them from the jobs they were already doing, which leaves jobs unfilled, while you have real beavers doing nothing 😅 I hope you didnt steal the gear maker bots that way, because that would hold everything up.

    For the new row of waterwheels... i hate to say this but you should delete it ALL again...
    With the watersource on the top of the screen, that row of waterwheels should be a 2 rows of waterwheels with the shafts coming out the righthand side since its the shorter shoreline.
    As many others have said, waterwheels lose effectiveness when water can more easily flow around rather than through the waterwheels. For this reason is why i, as well as others, say to do 2 rows of waterwheels rather than the single row you currently have. Also remove those levees choaking the mouth of the 2nd river.
    Either that or the less efficient and more flood prone method of adding a crapton of levees on both sides of the wheels to contain the water to only go through the waterwheels. I do NOT recommend this as it kills your possible power production by 50% as its only half the wheels.
    Ps. The only way to push more water to the secondary river is to add 5 floodgates on the same level in the main river. There would be a lot of engineering to be done to do this and with how far in you are already it might not be worth it. Just double up on the waterwheels down the secondary river and all should be good.
    Pss... Also also.. add in another dozen or 4 Grav Batteries. You have a ton of power coming in and being wasted after a day or 2, those 4 grav batteries you already have just arent enough.
