Now a successful entrepreneur, Bertrand is reunited with Eddie, and David Coulthard, to tell the full story on FFS!

I could see Eddie having a Saul Goodman type of lawyer stitching up Bertrand 😂
Excellent. I was never a Gachot fan, but I’m now embarrassed at how badly I misjudged him - a very gritty interview, so thanks to all.
H*ll, same here. I always called him Bertrand Crashout! The more you don't know, the more you learn!
What a brilliant raw interview, massive respect to Gachot for calling Eddie out, this was like an open wound therapy session! Best podcast I've watched in ages. 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
I'd have liked to hear Bertrand talk about his time at Larrousse and Pacific. He did a lot to prop Pacific up, and had a solid season with Larrousse in 1992.
This interview is top notch! Next get Montoya and Villeneuve in a room
Too bad Schumi is a vege now. Would have loved to see him and Villeneuve, Hill, Montoya on this show.
@@blackflagqwerty Mince matters, why don't you! 😳
😂
A must
@@blackflagqwertyand Kimi
I have listens to Bertrand quite a few times before and he is such a fighter.
Eddie was one of the most unscrupulous used cars salesman of all times. I loved watching him squirm 😅
He's a rat. Simple.
Bernie Ecclestone was undoubtedly worse. I'm sure we wouldn't get even EJ's level of honesty out of him. Goes with the territory of being successful in business, I suppose. Look after number 1 at all costs.
This is great. Bertrand Gachot somehow reminds me of Jean-Claude van Damme😂
Edit: and what an interesting guy. Never knew much about Bertrand Gachots story. Love these interviews
you beat me too it, I thought the same
@@greenhilldesign haha great to hear someone else had the same thought.
Belgian heritage!
I bet that he could do the Dim Mak as well as JCvD can
OMG... yes! JCVD vibe all over the place!
These chats are way more entertainment than f1 these days, thanks guys , please keep them coming !
I recall the "Free Bertrand" banners at the races, quite a nice chap
I remember it being graffiti all over the Spa circuit.
I immensely enjoyed the one with Berger, and I immensely enjoyed this one… This podcast is a gem in the making, keep up the authenticity!
I laughed my socks off with Berger 😂😂😂
I was a fan back in the day (anyone but Senna back then for me haha)
The story with the passports was just hilarious 😂😂
Eddie seemed very subdued, a little uncomfortable even, waiting for Bertrand to reveal the truth.
I thought the same from the off.
Eddie was a complete git in this interview. Chippy, defensive and trying to put the knife in whenever he could. I love how Bertrand didn’t give a flying fart and gave as good as he got.
Alot of people don't know but Eddie Jordan is worth over 400million pounds now.. he is a savy shark..
Not so much reveal the truth more like waiting for a right jab 😂
@@guyspooner4580 The submissive "please tell them" (how good I am) at the end was annoying and undignified, too.
Terrific interview with a real edge of honesty about it - and conducted with superb deftness and wit by DC. Bravo all round to the three strong personalities involved.
I never knew that Bertrand is such an incredibly smart and resilient person. Not to mention his sales skills.
This was wild for me to watch. As an Irishman, seeing a green Irish car in F1 in 1991 was incredible. I was a massive Jordan fan from the moment that car showed up. Trying to get into the top 6 and score points in a time of Senna, Prost, Mansell, Piquet, Berger, Patrese was no joke. I think it took the team a long time to get over losing Bertrand. A disaster for everyone involved.
The hype is real. I am so happy to see things worked out well for Bertrand in his post-racing life. I could have easily watched another hour of this. The guy is so cool.
I would have liked to hear a lot more about Andrea deCesaris. With 16 races, no internet and parents who made me go to bed for school on Sunday nights, it wasn't always easy as a fan to see every interview or get much behind the scenes news at the time. I remember him being great at Ferrari and great for Jordan in '91 too. RIP Andrea.
Cool stuff. :D
De Cesaris never drove for Ferrari, maybe you mean Dallara? :)
@@user-hp8xy2xe7n oops, I think I confused him for Alboreto! My bad!
Its a shame Andrea's no longer with us. Riccardo Patrese was his teammate at Brabham in 1987, and said he was a great guy, and a very fast driver, but disorganised. As it turns out, De Cesaris had a 'blinking twitch', maybe a neurological condition, and if he had an attack of this in a race, he'd spin or crash the car. But from '91 onwards, he became a new driver, and could have won at Belgium in 1991.
This is great, the twinkle in DC's eye as he sees Eddie squirming wondering what Bertrand is going to reveal.
yeah i loved seeing eddie worried. bertrand on the front foot.
Outstanding interview. What a pleasure to listen to three highly intelligent guys sharing stories and having fun. Bertrand is quite a character!
What a rollercoaster of a podcast. BG comes across as a very likable and well balanced individual who deserves all of the good things that have come his way.
Well done to all involved and please keep 'em coming!
If he were still with us, I'd have loved them to interview Andrea de Cesaris, one of the most misunderstood drivers in F1. RIP Andrea.
His retelling of the taxi driver incident was obviously quite biased. That's the thing. Road rage is one thing, but then spraying tear gas into somebody's face is always going to get you punished in this country. Just the fact that you have a can of it in your car is pretty bad. Most people do not feel the need to do that in this country. EJ is obviously a crook, but we have all known this for a long time.
The 7-up Jordan of 1991 was the best looking car ever.
Agreed.... and it was an out of the box car too.
@@stephenconway2468even better before it was painted in plain carbon
That car not only looked but sounded awesome with the Hart engine used the following year. I remember the floor used to vibrate as the car went around maggots at silverstone in ‘92.
1986 Lotus?
1988 McLaren Mp4/4?
1990 Ferrari F1-90?
Yeah..
Back in the days when the cars were 'clean' without lots of week clip ups etc. The colour scheme was perect.
That was an intense rollercoaster of an episode! Well controlled DC and a great positive outcome between EJ and BG. 😮💨 ❤
Not enough people commending DCs ability to orchestrate his way round and explosion
One of the most underrated driver ever, saw him in FF2000 and glad to see him doing well
That was really nice. I was 9 when I heard the news about Gachot and the CS gas - I think it made the 6 o'clock news on BBC! As a kid in Dublin, a sudden huge Jordan fan (having already loved Ferrari since Monza '88), and Gachot being my new favourite driver, I was totally shocked! I'm really glad to see everything worked out well and Eddie and Bertrand on such good terms now - that's the important thing.
Wonderful interview keep them coming from a 73 year old when F1 was great back in the day unlike recent times 😢
nowdays f1 is a BAD JOKE...wonder how much time they need to figure out f1 need no rev limiter ,no drs ,more tire & engine suppliers ,maybe refuel to...
Hear hear. I don't know why I watch it anymore - my brother, my father and I all watch it for old time's sake, nothing more.
Couldn't agree more. Today F1 has been ruined by media overkill. I find it unwatchable.
I don't agree F1 can't be as good as in the old days. I watch F1 since 1997 but 2021 was truly one of the best I've ever seen. And Vegas 2023 was also a fantastic race, tension till the very end.
@@mayena5735 You don't know what you missed.
This channel is a MAJOR!!!!!!!!!!!HIT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Please don't stop and keep bringing us the historical characters of F1.
Glad you guys did this one. The story of Bertrand Gachot, Michael Schumacher, Jordan F1, and Spa 1991 - what little I knew of it - has given me pause from time to time. It's gut-wrenching from Gachot's perspective, of course, to have one's F1 dreams slip away like that...
Jordan is not a nice guy you can tell. Glad he was put in his place by this fella!
actually i always got the impression that Eddie has a good sense of humour, its just he is a different beast as a businessman
This is one of the best things I’ve listened to this year.
I loved the candour and the humour.
I loved some of the vivid descriptions that Bertrand gave about some of his racing moments.
I found this fascinating and entertaining and educational .
I think you could probably do a whole day with Bertrand Gachot and have no chance of being bored.
I will probably listen to this again, to better absorb everything.
I found it satisfying that Eddy and Bertrand found a way to come together again, after their turbulent times.
Full marks to DC for steering this interview in the way that he did, it was nicely measured.
Thank you to all three of you for a riveting podcast.
Bertrand spécialement, merci pour venir et pour partager votre expérience et je vous souhaitais continuation de succès dans la vie, pour vous et pour votre famille.
Great to finally get to see these in full!!!
This is one of the best and funniest interviews I’ve ever watched, love it, more please 👍
how good was it to see bertrand having a dig at eddie all the way through. loved it.
Bertrands old feeling towards EJ comes over alot more in the video than the audio recording. Nice that they have patched things up somewhat through his daughters music ect. What a great interview!!
This has been a brilliant conversation, really glad it came up in my feed. ❤
Excellent interview, I really enjoyed it! Gachot is very interesting and Jordan is a legend! Very well orchestrated by DC. Great stories and many laughs!
I had fun in this episode. Thanks DC
Loving seeing these come to CZcams!
Thank you this is one of the best interview i ever saw !
It was great to see Our Eddie sit and take it, and knowing that morally he was in the wrong. Bertrand I remember the incident playing out and it was crazy back then as you only got some info and not the part that really mattered. You were a great driver who was destined for more, circumstances arose and sent your life in a different direction. Look at you now, healthy and happy good for you. ☘ :}
Amazing work here guys, really interesting story I didn’t really know. Best episode to date
DC is brilliant, i love these interviews! Bertrand as a human being also is fabulous. Everyone could learn from him.
Great interview. Together you both have a great chemistry and bring a ballance to one another. Your inteviews are one of the highlights when alone in my workshop each weekend. Thanks for great stories. Tony (Melbourne Australia).
The absolute best interview - well done, and thank you for sharing. Excellent!
Well that ended differently than what I expected. Great stuff between two strong characters! Waw. Great podcast. Need a part II with great racing stories!
A great interview, calm, but still passionate, everyone seemed to try a keep their egos under control. Thank you one and all
Best show in F1, so happy you are finally putting the full episodes online!
Explosive chat right down to the nitty gritty with no holds barred…absolutely brilliant.
Can't believe I've been missing out on podcasts like this. DC, you've found your calling. Excellent stuff. Subscribed!
That was a real treat. I was at Paddock Hill during the 85 FF Festival and can still see Bertrand being squeezed out. That was a big one! So sorry his driving career was cut short but happy to learn that things have worked out.
Outstanding, thanks for sharing 🍻
Brilliant, was a great listen!!! Really enjoy your postcast and you provide us with different views on F1., Many thanks sunny greetings from Curacao
Curacao yes it was fascinating. Racing Drivers are just highest skilled controllers that control these special machines, the same people are the sons of Former father son combinations and therefore are advantaged by the sport they participated, I love that explanation of the “Onyxf1” with “quali tyres” yeah very nicely done guys all of it so (*very interestingly so)the simple things in life are free ! Eddie you wanker wow mate can’t buy honesty right wicked stuff guys 🧐👀🫢⚡️🤔✨🤫💫😤💨🤯💥🤐⁉️
Some great stories, brilliant video😍🙌🏼👌🏻
This was a great listen on the podcast but the video gives a whole new layer of understanding to the whole thing. Fascinating stuff.
Great stuff, keep it coming please
I was only expecting to watch a few minutes of this. I was hooked and thoroughly enjoyed this interview.
Thank you very much, David, for this very nice and brilliant AND so interesting Interview !
greetz from austria
David Coultard did very well on controlling this!
I think "we" are in ,carry on gentelmen, !
Amazing, AMAZING conversational interview. The rapport between Eddie, DC and Bertrand was awesome, truly great Insite to a driver I didn't know that much about. I had to subscribe, we all need to support this new channel.
Great episode boys. Keep up the great work and bringing lots of laughs and beautiful stories.
Awesome Interview. Fascinating stuff !
Fantastic interview, just great! Loved it 😂
Great chat! Thanks!
What a lovely interview and story, just leaves one feeling good about humanity!!
Great to watch the podcast on CZcams normally.only listen to it. Keep loading the formula for success on CZcams it's better than.. Always great content.
What a story. Great to see that both parties can talk openly about it.
This was great interview ! Loved it.
Totally compelling and fascinating episode!
DC my F1 hero when i was a teenager.
And as a fellow Scotsman im proud how he represents us.
I also work next door to his fathers business in Cumbernauld.
Much love to Haydon Coulthard hauliers.
This is one of the best podcasts I’ve ever heard ❤❤ you have made my Saturday morning
This is one of the best interviews I've ever watched!! Fair play to all involved. DC kept it going great and EJ and BG were just straight up honest with no papering over the cracks. I don't think anyone is surprised that Eddie would be so ruthless. He's typical of many people in business. They've got an evil streak but that's not how they see it. That said, if he's the guy footing the bill then you can understand it to a degree. It was good that they've reconciled and Eddie initiated that showed he doesn't hold any grudges and he's helping Bertrand's daughter with her career shows he's genuine - he didn't have to do that.
Great pod cast EJ is a ruthless business man that's why he's so successful but Gachot is a really cool guy a great driver and an amazing business man by the looks of it,but I don't know about you guy's but I could listen to him all day he is so interesting and he's lived the life and we all can see why sponsor's loved him ,so thanks for agreat video just wish it was longer, wow, gonna check now to see if he's done a book about his life ,one more thing is it just me or does he look like Jean Claud Van Dam I think he does ,😊
Great video guys. More content please..
Great conversation!
Excellent interview. Thanks.
What a great interview!!!!!
I really love this Format. I enjoy it seeing the people how are talking instead of a Podcast like the f1 is doing. Thats DC and Eddie
EJ found this so hard facing up to his own history. Great podcast
Great interview lads!
Gotta say, that was a pretty good podcast. Well done guys👍
Great interview
One of the things I love about F1 is that the sport is this bizarre mixture of all the typical boring proper corporate types but also attracts lots of questionable outlaw types and characters. Guys like Eddie Jordan, Flavio Briatore, Gunther, the Rich Energy guy and so many more.
What a Great interview .
Ah that was wonderful. That's after making my day. Straight up and genuine. Brilliant stuff lads. Keep it up
Love this! So cool to hear storys from these drivers from what I think was the golden years of F1. Please try to get them coming to your show! Liked and subscribed!
Ps: is Hype the same sponsor that was on Williams when Villeneuve was there?
Thanks David for a great interview, and well done. I admire your skill. You got the best out of Eddie and Bertrand. Raw and honest, and all too human. I never really knew the story behind Bertrand and the way it was dissected on your show was brilliant. I am an admirer and big fan of Bertrand, and now even more. Great show!
What a great interview and what a great guy this was first class 👏
Great episode, top notch gentlemen!
Gachot looks and talks almost like Van Damme
Couldn’t agree more, was exactly my first impression
The reason I checked the comments lol
a Belgian sounds like another Belgian? ....naaah mate i think your stretching it lol
Wow! Breathtaking interview and i had the luck of personally witnessing the beautiful green/blue Jordan at Spa in 1991!
I've never heard anyone underrate their own achievements so much in my life.
Great interview. Love catching up with these legends of the sport. Different times takes me back to watching as a kid. Eddie squirming. lol.
Love your show keep it up
Just great conversation
I honestly love this podcast DC and EJ are experienced characters from F1 past I hope they post more full interviews
yeah for example 2007 and how mclaren gave to ferrari that years driver championship...
Met Betrand in 1992 when he was driving for Larrouse at Silverstone during a tire test prior to the British GP. Fantastic guy, and he signed my drivers magazine.
Awesome podcast 👌🏻😎
Awesome video. F1 baby this is the texture of the sport. More please and thank you.
Wouldve loved an interview like this between many drivers over the years, Senna/Prost, Schuey and many drivers, even Hamilton and Rosberg, Ocon and every team mate or Max.
Great Show Boys
Superb. I was lucky enough to be at the 91 British Grand Prix as a 10yr old, was gutted when Bert had his scrape with the law great to see all’s just about forgiven!
In over 40 years I have never seen EJ look so uncomfortable....Oh, please please get Irvine on for a chat
Fabulous podcast!
Great interview - love Gachot!
this interview is priceless
The most entertaining television I saw in a looong time, the chemistry between those two :D
I thoroughly enjoyed watching this. It wasn’t something I thought would’ve happened. Thanks for doing it and great work David keeping them on track and moving the conversation around on interesting tangents
