    I love seeing the vintage pieces and learning out their features and how you rate them. It’s all good stuff. I’m happy to hear you’ll continue to showcase your awesome components. You have many pieces I truly covet and love. When you did the ADS speakers I was in vintage nirvana. Also very interested in the collecting aspects.

      That will always be core to the channel, so much more to review, so stay tuned. Also, more ADS eventually. I would still like to interview someone that has worked at or has in-depth knowledge of the ADS history. Maybe someone will reach out at some point.

    Scott , great channel ,you could talk vintage audio all day and I can listen to it all day .
    1 ) advertising video 👍
    2) You could do history on the audio pioneers like Paul klipsch , bob Fulton , James Lansing , frank McIntosh, William Johnson , Rudy Bozak …. Could be very interesting
    Thanks for all your hard work

    You have a great channel, Scott. I have watched your channel awhile and decided to add a comment, since I am essentially a vintage audio user/ collector as well. I think you have a great collection and many good ideas, including “memberships”. Suggestions: 1) ask about what audio or speakers that your audience has? 2) Why not feature some equipment/ pics of your audience members, that you find interesting or unusual. I think this participation could add members. I have many original vintage audio catalogs in the 70s, as well as ads,
    And the gear. Another good discussion: 3) where would a collector go to either find repairs, or to sell/ swap?

    • @stereoniche
      @stereoniche  Před 16 dny

      Bringing in the collections or gear of others is a great idea and one others have relayed as well, so that will certainly make the short list. The repair shop list is one idea I had as well some time ago in one of my "brain storming" sessions, but I think it needs to be moved up the list a good bit. I do get several questions looking for recommendations. On the membership area, still mulling on it. I want it to be worthwhile, so still figuring out the specifics. It will happen, but only when it is right.

    I'm glad there is a place for all this old gear to go. As a retired EE and 50 y audiophile, I have no interest in old electronics or speakers. The designs and performance of today's gear just keeps me wanting to upgrade, just like I was 21 years old. What I want to see is solid state power amps from the beginning to about 20 years ago. Take a look inside and maybe even power up a few speakers.

      Interesting. Not something I have ever considered. I would be reluctant to offer much in the way of sound preferences as I think that is too subjective, but, I could offer up advice on collecting in total. Maybe make it a 1:1 time once a month or something. Will mull on that a bit. Great suggestion.

    Hi Scott, great video! I like the idea of Live streaming, but maybe have specific themes? I have seen others streams where it is just 20 mins of hey so and so how are you? I love the idea of a tour! I think you and I have had very similar pieces, but you just have way more! lol I would like to actually hear head to head comparisons of the gear you feature, I know listening on our gear through YT. is not the same, but I do feel you can get a pretty good sense of the differences. I commend you on all your hard work, I don't think a lot of people realize the amount of effort that goes into making good quality videos! What if you had a way that subscribers could share their equipment and experiences? Maybe give a nice Streoniche hat to the system of the week or whatever :) ? BTW I just picked up another fine Sansui amp, AU-555a, needed some love, but well worth it! Cheers from Canada Dan!

    • @stereoniche
      @stereoniche  Před 15 dny +1

      A themed Live Stream is a great idea. I too have noticed in other Live Streams that it sort of just bounces around with a lot of dead space. I think the Tour thing would be a lot of fun, it will have to be a bit of a lottery kind of thing, but something that could be figured out. The head to head sound capture would be a big change. I would have to think through that a bit. The subscriber sharing is something I have mulled over and would create some good content if I can get some good video. Sansui AU-555a!! I had a beautiful example years ago with the original box and I sold it... to someone in Canada!

    You're doing a great job. Please continue to share what you feel comfortable sharing.
    I very much enjoy learning from your videos. My parents or maybe older cousins were into this equipment. So, I have fond memories of hearing the classic receivers and big speakers but much of this was before my time of knowing the details. I am not much for paid memberships, I'm patient to wait for the video. If I were to pay for a patreon or channel membership it would be to discuss a topic such as synergy of putting together a system or specifics on setting a tone arm, stylus, perferred ways to bring equipment back to life with the person or people behind a channel. I saw posts on forums and classifieds and like the ideas. Getting the business to work behind it, I have no idea. If you endorsed products as some youtubers do. I completely understand as it takes time to put together videos especially on a regular schedule. As viewer I try to watch the ads, click the like button all that stuff.

    • @stereoniche
      @stereoniche  Před 15 dny

      Thanks very much for the input and your support. The extended membership side of things is certainly more time spent just to create the new content, hence the need for it to be covered in some way by additional revenue, but I need to feel like the value add is there. All of the comments are greatly appreciated.

    If you’re looking for ideas, maybe do a blind test of your gear. Have a fellow vintage fanatic set it up and you won’t know what set up of yours is being used so it would eliminate any prejudice (I know you love all of your babies though). Scott, love your channel as is, but would like some insight as far as, is your listening room and "Warehouse" part of your actual house, an addition to house, a separate building or what?

    • @stereoniche
      @stereoniche  Před 17 dny +4

      Hey Kevin. Thanks for watching. The property we bought years ago was owned prior by a cabinet maker and it is 5 acres in size. There are 3 buildings roughly 75' from the house. The prior owner added on to one building, then extended it from the backside with adding a 30 x 50 foot building. What you see in the videos is the front entrance area, my "showroom" that is about 17 x 32. There are two other rooms adjacent to this room that most often are not seen, but I have plans for one of them to include in some videos. The "warehouse" is attached to this building through the swinging doors seen in some of the videos. In addition, there is a 3rd building off the backside of the "warehouse" that is accessible through a rear door and that building is also 30 x 50. I divided it in half years ago, one half houses my wood workshop type tools, the other half is storage for some additional gear. Mostly lower end type stuff. In all, I have more "shop floor" sq footage than what I have in my house.

      While I won't be able to get any of the technical repairs on video, I can do a summary of what was done. I have a Marantz 2500 in process now, not really any cosmetic issue, but getting some internal restoration, so I'll include that in the upcoming video. There are several items that will need both, extensively, so those will be fun to document and share.

    Your referencing two areas of design, and execution in Stereo Audio: The Sonic (TRULY innovative Pre, and Power amp Circuit Artistry that really yielded the rich high-fidelity goods) &
    The Aesthetic: (Loudspeaker, and Component Artistry that Denmark 🇩🇰 lit a fire toward, and inspired the greater world at large). Format Wars, and noted industry recognition of obscure, small companies that crafted brilliant work, but sadly couldn’t weather the economic storms of business, and marketing. And today! Very successful corporate strategists w/ vast, Enormous capital reserves have found artisans whose formulas have already taken Audio to its Zenith, with distortion levels SO LOW, its eerily frightening, and thrilling at the same time! It’s awesome.
