Sometimes the surprises tours, are the best tours! Can't say I understood everything from this legendary designer/engineer but he has great enthusiasm and probobly a great sense of humor! It does t appear he gets many interviews and was enjoying showing off his product. Those Japanese magazines of audio are good mines and they go back for many years. I wish someone would translate all those to English someday. Many in the states are not aware of how hardcore the Japanese market is and has been for years. Thank you Michel !
This guy is one of a kind.. always laughing . Its amazing. He seems naturally high... i guess he is just passionate . Those are the people with great mind that you never forget. Thanks M Fremer, great interview
Kept thinking Tim De Paravicini - just a brilliant engineer, making amazing equipment and with a CV that commands respect and admiration. I think you did an excellent job, Michael. Thank you.
I own two of his HSE-EQ1 equalizer in my mastering chain. They are marvelous build and sonicly heaven. Can only assume that his ML 7 is a dream come true.
pretty nice tour, tough to hear the responses to the questions. Interesting point you made asking if the employees have listened to what they build. These phono stages are priced above the Boulder phono stages. Pretty stiff competition. Sure would be interesting to hear one. He pointed to and mentioned the transformer several times but was not clear what it is. Where you able to determine if that was a step up trans or some sort of isolation transformer or something else? Perhaps the variable EQ option could be used for a tape head pre. Very similar gain requirements for a tape head and LOMC cart impedance and loading can be different.
There are no step up transformers in this phono preamplifier. It has a great deal of gain and very low noise. What he was pointing to is the coil used for the selectable "rumble" filter....
The Swiss make such amazing, world class audio products. I would have to take out a load to pay for just the box it comes in, but it sure is wonderful to see and listen to. But why have 2 gain adjusts rather than a single gain + balance on their phono preamp? Much easier to get the output of the channels correct in the latter way. P.S. I understood most of what Mr. Huber says... but then I've seen a lot of Schwarzenegger movies.
This allows each channel's signal goes through only one variable resistor whereas with volume and balance controls the signal has to go through 2 variable resistors in series. The designer is going for a purer signal path over ergonomics.
I agree with others it is very hard to understand what this fellow is saying & if the answers sink up with the questions. The components look very good but, the whole office & construction environment, seems very nonsequitur! I have watched the recent videos on tours of the Italian high end audio companies, excellent in both the areas I mentioned above & the difference is night & day compared of this.
A nice guy and a great product, but this interview was like trying to understand the Swedish Chef from the Muppet Show
I understand. It was difficult....
three friends of mine bought this phono stage, the sound is unbelievable!!!

The design is very beautiful. --The designer is a very talented person!

Einstein comes to mind when I saw this guy.
Many thanks for sharing. Would be wonderful if you got to review the phono stage and the ML7 preamp.

They printed the logo and put it on the door right before you got there.
Awesome Video Michael 😊

as a swiss ,i must say good job
Nice!
Sehr schöne Geräte! Tolle Verarbeitung! LG Markus Moser
Very cool 🙌🏽🙌🏽🙌🏽
very funny Man, love his passion - must be expensive :)
I wouldn't mind listening to one of the phono preamps in my system. A dream of course...
Beautiful piece of equipment! Great design. Now if only someone could do the same thing at 1/100th the cost...
Hi Michael. Will you be reviewing? Apologies if mentioned, found the vid difficult to understand at times....
WOW
Hello Slobodan!
LUXURY. At least they are honest about that and don't do false claims about sound like other high-end companies do...

@@trackingangle929 OK thanks for the info

@@HP_____ Ah, ok. I would personally prefer the convenience of a balance adjust, but that makes sense. Thanks for the reply.
0:50 Egad! Looked like Robert's teeth were coming at me like I was Swiss cheese!!
you can do better than that, I'm sure....
@@trackingangle929 OK, like I was a Swedish meatball...
I don’t know why but I’m thinking Einstein. Family relation? 😊
Only 30 grand for that phono? Sold!
Hello, but what is the name of the company that produces this equipment?
HSE Swiss
What are the specs?
Do people have heads?
After a week on the road mine went partially missing that afternoon

He has a very small operation here. If you want to see large Swiss operations check out Nagra and CH Precision.
They don't even put the brand name on the product???? That's bad.
under VU meters, on gold.
My hart is analog !..............who can say this better and shorter than those few words ...? an
Lack of ESD standard leads to questioning mid and long term reliability. However looks nice.
He mainly designs studio-friendly professional audio gear.
The main man looks a lot like the Nutty Professor, no offense.
At $100,000 per unit, you’d think the builders would not be drinking liquids while assembling such magnificent devices😊
Gotta stay hydrated to be at the top of your game.
Up till only some years, factory builders of BMW where allowed to drink up to 6 beer in one shift assembling.
The guy needs a dentist before audiophiles gear😂😂😂
I'm sure you can do better than that comment...
Ask him why the Swiss insist on destroying the German language when they speak it.
What does this have to do with this video?
FFSake can only understand every 10th word the Swiss guy says , and he doesn't understand half of what Micheal says. Communication BREAKDOWN.
Amazing conversation anyway
We all did the best we could...plus we kind of invaded his space while he was doing business.
As a swiss guy I can understand everything 😂
