    I used to hear "you are the smallest, you get to go in" many times when I was on the tools. I had a bunch of summer cottages to take care of that the butchered up plumbing and access would make you cry. Thank you for letting us watch, Tim

    Replace PB with CPVC, so then 10-15 years later it'll have to be done again. Why not PEX....ahh I see..cheap customers.

    Looks like it would be a great DIY vid but your voice is quieter than that strange music when you are underneath, so I'm missing the part I really need to hear. The music is distracting and should at least be quieter than you are. Thanks though! I wish there was a way to cut the music and hear you better.

    Great video. I have a 1972 Champion single wide and can't afford a plumber to repair my plumping, so I have to do it myself. Do all the older mobile homes have exposed plumbing? And what about the kitchen sink waste water line. I have a soft floor in the middle of the kitchen. Any and all information would be appreciated. Thanks

I repipe my house with PEX I have a very low roof line and yes you have to take everything out of your pockets for sure but I made a skid out of plywood that I sat on that allowed me to slide across to trusses and it carried the tools and me just thought I'd share that with you something to think about if you haven't forward to hearing from you bye for now Ken

    Been awhile since this video was posted so I hope you or someone else who knows sees this but I’m the new “proud” owner of a 90s double wide with the old PB plumbing. Planning on doing the pex or cpvc repipe myself and have done it before in previous stick built homes but my question has been is it really necessary to try and get the new pipe above the belly? I noticed you didn’t in this video and I would think as long as my place is on a foundation like any other house, it would be fine as long as it’s wrapped. I’ve sure never seen a stick built home with belly insulation covering everything underneath. That’s the one thing I hate most about manufactured houses, you can’t see or easily get to any of the infrastructure underneath

    • @FreeAmerican
      @FreeAmerican Před 3 lety

      I would use PEX. I have used it for years with no problem. I live in the deep South, so it rarely gets cold for long. If you live up North, you may want to insulate the pipes if you run below the belly wrap.

    Under mobile homes do drain pipes rest above the insulation or below? I have a sewer smell coming into the home and I suspect I might have busted through the kitchen drain pipe with a snake and now that needs to be repaired....what a pain it is that you have to cut through the insulation to get to the pipe. I almost rather cut through the floor and deal with that...

      Wow, but I've heard it's a job considering you have to go into the walls and things. Anyway, I've had a chance to look at a pair of pipes inside my house and noticed that they where "tinted yellow". Does this indicate something, or should I still go on the onset that after 20 years, I should still have my house re-pipe? Going to be around SC for the day or two?
      Thanks

    Hello sir. Three years ago I purchased a park model home and live in it full time. It has CPVC piping. Do you think repiping CPVC to pex or copper is a good idea, or, even necessary? I have heard CPVC is prone to breakage eventually. My home is about 15 years old. Thanks sir.
