Nation seeing what Minnesota has known for awhile. And he has a perfect group of vets like Conley around him that he acutally listens to...his game is progressing faster than I imagined.

When he was drafted i said, "Anthony Edwards is him, id be shocked if he isnt top 5 soon, he has that fire of greatness"
The difference is Player A and C are below average defenders. Player B is an elite defender.
So who is Player B. Can't be Ant then cause he is not Elite at defense. He defends elite in CERTAIN situations. Overall, i would say he is a slightly above average defender. Only casuals will disagree.

@@WheresWaldo05 Ant may not have consistently been an elite defender in the regular season, but when he is fully focused, such as crunch time in the regular season and tin the playoff in general, he is an elite defender.

He is a beast and once media are forced to talk about someone other than Lebron next week he will truly emerge as a face of the league.
I don’t even think it’s all of that, but also the team that he plays for and I would know as being a Laker fan for 21 years. Even Nikola Jokic doesn’t always get his respect he deserves because of it being the Denver who have been historically good but not great since they didn’t even make the Finals and win it all until last year. Anthony Edwards will take even longer to get his respect than Jokic because of how terrible the Timberwolves historically have been.
@@lakerskid2013 that’s true also. Definitely players on small market teams suffer from being on those teams. Jokic is a great example of that.
@@dougscott188 The only small market team exception is the San Antonio Spurs but that’s obviously because of the history they’ve had and built up way more with an all-time great head coach of Gregg Popovich and the playing days they had of Tim Duncan, Tony Parker, and Manu Ginobli. When San Antonio is good again, the media hype will follow and it’ll be more amplified because of Wemby as their new franchise player that has potential to be as valuable to the team as Tim Duncan was.

Not a Minnesota fan but Ant is my favorite player. This year is what they expected with the Gobert trade last season, they’ve been super impressive and can’t wait to watch them try to go on a run this postseason

Anthony Edwards is as valuable to the Timberwolves as Kevin Garnett used to be, if not even more.
He's definitely getting there. I'm a Wolves fan of 20 some years. Never been so excited before. KG never had the help of Ant, and the one year he did, we went to the WCF but lost due ot injuries. Ant is kinda built different though. His attitude of destroy and don't care is amazing.
@@TyTimeIsAwesome I’m a Laker fan of 21 years and I do remember that series, there was one game in particular (couldn’t remember which one) where Minnesota blew a 15 point lead and who knows what would’ve happened if they won that game. I also think that head coach Chris Finch is getting into the conversation of being as valuable to the team as Flip Saunders used to be as well.
@@lakerskid2013 Yup. We lost Cassell, then our back up PG Troy Hudson shortly after. Huddy was killing it too. KG had to fill in at PG some stretches.
@@TyTimeIsAwesome Wally Szczerbiak was really good too, I remember him on that 2004 Timberwolves team and a little bit of his time at the tail end of his career on the Cavaliers.

I love Ant, but giving him sole credit for turning around the Wolves is... not accurate, at best. I've been a longtime Wolves fan and the entire team is way better now than it used to be.
My thoughts exactly. Was pleasantly surprised by their well-roundness in defense. It makes all the difference when most of these playoff teams have really good offensive play, Wolves included.
Would you say better than the 2004 squad that made the conference finals with Kevin Garnett? I think at minimum they’re as good as that team and I would even say that Anthony Edwards is as valuable to Minnesota as KG used to be, if not possibly more valuable.
@@lakerskid2013 its close. The Garnett squad was amazing, but I'm ranking this squad as even better. Ant is Kobe's dad. So it's like the Star Wars trilogy and we are going back in time to see Kobe's dad play out his career after already seeing his son's career.

@gracemusik I love Antman! My favorite player. So I agree that he makes a HUUGE difference. But I just like to focus on basketball as a team game so I'm just saying don't give 1 guy full credit. Wolves are great because they play as a team. No hero ball! And they have amazing chemistry. Antman is a huge part of that. He could easily be getting even better numbers if he played a more selfish style of ball, but he wants to win so he plays team ball. And he is turning into a great facilitator. Go ant!@

If they get past the nuggets they have a serious chance to get a chip. And they absolutely have what it takes to beat the nuggets they just have to execute. Playoff experience most likely will be the difference maker.

Ant is the foundation, but I think the culture change really came with Gobert. With Rudy, now suddenly everyone is playing insane defense. It's like they all want to protect each other. It wasn't like this in the past. Don't get me wrong- Ant is the driving force behind the Wolves recent success, but he didn't do it alone.

Edward’s is a great player no doubt but his team is loaded and great defensively. One could argue if his team was bad like most star young players he would have a lot more questions about his game

@@nicksullivan9301 I think my point went over your head. It’s not me saying his team is working against him. It’s me saying his team is actually helping him and potentially hiding flaws in his game. But even more his team is making him skip an important journey of struggle. For examples wembanyama is a generational talent. If he was on the lakers with Anthony Davis or any other team with an elite defensive big and suppporting stars Vic wouldn’t look as impressive. Luckily Edward’s is exactly what the wolves need which is a scorer
