Building an Owl House!

I made an owl house I'm going to install near the log cabin I'm building in the woods. It's made out of a few old planks I had in the garage that are 10" and 12".
Before I hang it I'm going to add some blobs of caulking behind the bark sheets. I'm a little concerned about the wind blowing them off and I want to add a bit more support.
I'm also planning to add a branch inside to help owlets reach the hole. Hopefully some day I'll capture some flight school footage!

What makes it different from a duck house other than an owl would be living in it instead of a duck? The type of wood, the size of the entrance, the heights it's on the tree? What?

I don't know what a duck finds comfortable! I would think you just need to adjust all of the sizes larger or smaller for different birds but the basic plan would stay the same for a lot of them!
