As someone who builds nuclear shelters for families, the use of asbestos and the flimsy mesh used would be a no-no, plus you want a escape exit or its just a tomb. It also needs to be about twice the size to be able to live in it for 14+ days for fallout. So sink, toilet and macerator to pump the waste up and out, addition of shower is a luxury. Water storage and power storage with deployable fold out solar panels to run intake and extraction fan with carbon filters, run lighting and cook with, add some beds and books games etc and you're done. BUT building a bunker yourself using repurposed materials is hard and I'd give this man 10/10 for effort and 5/10 score on his bunker.

In the event of a nuclear war for example you still gonna die unless you it can stay underground for months with months of food, water and means to filter air. If your in eroupe of North America your fucked. If your a soldier in Intel you would know this as you would know there be like maybe a 30 min warning before all hell breaks loose. And that would depend on where you live. If your near a big city or a military base yea your done. If you live or in the boonies you might got a chance but the radioactive debris unless you got the supplies, gear ect for at least a year you might get by

@@TJK50014 That's true. Plus you have to think about weatherproofing it and transportation costs.
But it'll make a great emp proof bunker and once you've created a good concrete foundation you can stack them on top of each other and reinforce with concrete and rebar.
In certain places you can't dig too deep though.

It really looks like a bunker for a warehouse. To become an underground bunker, it should be at least 30m below ground. The underground must withstand humidity and temperature underground, and oxygen must be supplied.

No it's a nuclear FALLOUT shelter. He only needs 1m of packed soil on top of his shelter. It doesn't have to be airtight and he doesn't need to worry about air filtration, though it would help a little. He won't be targeted by a NUCLEAR MISSILE, therefore he doesn't need to be deep underground. In fact, 90% of all casualties from a nuclear war will die from RADIOACTIVE FALLOUT. He will be protected. You will be in your home which offers NO PROTECTION from radioactive fallout. The intensity of the exposure you get in the first 48 hours will determine if you die a slow agonizing death over a period of hours, days, weeks or months.
