  • ABBA - I still have faith in you | REACTION
As YOU requested in the comments on the last video (Don't shut me down REACTION). Here you go! And THANK YOU for the tremendeous support you are giving me! I LOVE YOU!
This is my very first reaction to the SECOND new song from 2021.
Oh lord, this was a HARD one to make. I felt like bursting into tears literally ALL THE TIME but I managed to hold it back pretty good (or did I)
ABBA is reunited, and this is their thank you card to the fans, and a heads up of what the future will bring.
Strap yourself into the DeLorean time machine, ONCE AGAIN, because you are about to be thrown back straight to the 1970s!
This is a historical moment in the history of music. A moment, many thought would NEVER come, but it did!
ABBA is one of the most famous bands in history, and here they are again. They will perform a pre recorded LIVE show in London, in an arena, built only for that purpose, where all ABBA members have done the motion capture for the performance, for 5 weeks, and then been de-aged to look like its 1979 again!
THANK YOU for watching my videos! It makes me so happy!
What did YOU think about this song? Please, comment below! Also please, like the video if you enjoyed it!
If you enjoyed the video, feel free to Subscribe my darlings!

I’m 61 and at first I was humming to the tune, then I was dancing to the beat and then I found myself emotional to the words. I was thinking about what ABBA have been through and the grace they have for one another - they were married to each other at the height of their success. They still have love there and they are all together reunited and giving fans and everyone fatigued from Covid a blessing where beautiful music can transcend one away from worries for a time. Days after I think of the music, lyrics and the sound they have created to share with us - I feel so honoured. I think of the mature voices of the ladies and I’d love to see an abbatar of them in their 70s showing the depth of life experiences in their faces matching their mature voices. They are still beautiful at this age. Bravo and Thank you ABBA for this wonderful gift of you all and your talents that you’ve given the world.

I am a lifelong ABBA fan from Sydney. I will never forget freezing when I heard SOS on the radio in my Grandmother's room. It changed my life. Being from Australia, I lived through ABBA MANIA. It was So Special. 40 years on, I have never had SUCH a reaction to any song (save for SOS), but this time with "I still have faith in you" it's way bigger. I am weepy, always crying with joy, not believing it's even real. The images of the Australian Tour, the ABBA Plane, all the outpouring of love, and everything about this song is SUCH a trigger. It is a masterpiece and has come at a time when the world SO needs it.

But if your looking for background, feelings that have lasted and evolved over 5 decades between 4 people then this is the song! It's an Anthem of themselves and it's a question to themselves asking if they can still do this. Is it still inside them to project out and be done in a quality manner, or has time erased all that. Annifrid sang lead on dozens of amazing songs, but for some reason few of those were released as singles between 1977 and 1980. As a huge fan then and now, I never understand why and felt that she was short-changed! Hopefully ISHFIY will encourage everyone to explore their back catalogue (and then to agree with me! 😉)

    • @lounolastname4477
      @lounolastname4477 Před 2 lety +11

@Herman Smeets - both Frida and Agnetha had a similar amount of leadvocals on each album. Benny & Bjorn made sure of that and many others were joint vocals. Agnetha’s voice was possibly more suited to the “poppy” numbers and Frida’s voice was adaptable so often used on their more complex creations that weren’t necessarily mainstream pop of that time. That said: ABBA had 9 Number 1 hits in the UK - Frida was lead vocalist on 3 of those and 5 were joint leads.

Agnetha is NOT 'the' lead singer. I get so tired of this myth. True ABBA fans know that they were BOTH lead singers, and equally shared doing lead vocals. Frida's lead songs actually had bigger chart success, so to diminish her impact in the group is just disrespectful

Five days later and this is still a grower. The more one listens to it, the more the brilliant little touches and nods to past ABBA songs are in there. And OMG, Anni-Frid's voice. Fragile tenderness to amazing power whilst still retaining those velvety tones. It's a brilliant return and these two songs have actually entered the UK singles chart in high positions. For a group that has been basically inactive for forty years and generally has an older fan-base who are less likely to stream their music, that's an amazing achievement. They are much more likely to top the album charts and I'm sure they will.

I'm 29 years old. Being Brazilian, i primarily speak Brazilian Portuguese.
I grew up surrounded by LPs. Classics were the soundtrack of my almost 3 decades of life, and ABBA accompanied me in every step of the way. English, lyrics were not the main meaning of a song, but the emotions that transpired in each key, each intonation of each word.
ABBA was there to embrace me when I laughed in happiness and cradled me and my tears in those endless nights, until i could fall asleep.
Later in life i learned English. And those songs... they just got such a deeper meaning, the multitude of complexity of the human emotions declared in those words I now learned to understand.
My first travel outside my home country? Will be next year.
I'll see them in England. Because they had faith in us for 40 years. And I have faith in them, even when new spirit has arrive to keep them going, when they are no physically with us anymore.
I'll carry their new spirit within me. I forever will.

(I must have listened to each new song about 100 times since then, and I have frequently found myself weeping!). Your reaction video made me weep all over again! Annifrid has been my “spirit animal” since I was 12, in 1975. Watching you cry upon hearing just the first few seconds of Annifrid’s voice on ISHFIY just validated not just my last week, but my last 46 years! Like many other people commenting on here, our enduring devotion to these amazing people who are ABBA is not typically understood by others. For me it’s a very deep personal identification with their inherent humble honesty and deep moral integrity as much as their phenomenal, stunning talent; and the way that their songs offer emotional transcendence. Just hearing A&A’s combined voices again in these stunning new songs hits me straight in the solar plexus. You described ABBA’s return as if guardian angels had come back down to give us all a gift of love and compassion and hope. You nailed it! There’s a deep spiritual significance to their reunion- for millions of us, as much as them. Well done!! 💐🙌🥰

I just needed one day to calm down and react on your emotional video. First of all thank you very much for showing us your emotions. I'm nearly 57 years old and ABBA were the heroes and the comrades of my youth, their music gave me strength and comfort when things didn't go easy. The highlight was seeing them live here in Germany in 1979. When they left the scene I was very sad, but growing older and turnig to other music. But I never forgot them and was very pleased by the revival of their music and also the appreciation they lately became concerning the high quality of their music. So I went very well and happy seeing Mamma Mia The Musical coming and later the movies. Then they announced their return in 2018 with two new songs and I rather went mad. The delays made me feel sad and in the end I doubted if they really will come back, but I never really lost faith in them. Watching the stream last weeks and hearing I still have faith in you made me cry so much immediately. I couldn't stop crying that evening and was very very touched. Watching young people like you in their interest and love for ABBA makes me very happy. Watching your videos about the new songs not just made me happy, again I cried a lot with watching you and I felt and still feel very touched. Thanks again and a lots of love for you from Germany♥️🙏🍀

The beauty of those older deeper vocals and the astonishing lyrics and soaring chorus, which reflect their journey as a band and ours as a fan, would have been enough. I am 60 Years of Age now, the last Studio Album of ABBA was released in Autumn 1981 when I just finished School at the Age of 20.
ABBA was with me since 1975 and I loves their Music since then. The Musical Chess, the Solo Albums of Agnetha und Frida and if course the phantastic Piano-Album of Benny that was released some Years ago. And the Music of the Swedish Group GEMINI where Benny and Björn wrote the marvellous Songs which sounded like ABBA.
But what happened last Week was larger than Life for me, much better as I ever expected.
When I saw the Video Conference and Heard the two New Songs I had Tears in my Eyes. It was so emotional and overwhelming for me to hear this great Music. After 40 Years. Incredible. The Comeback of the Century! It's the bright Light we all need so badly in these dark and weird Times!

Abba just has this way of firing up the full range of emotions in you - all at the same time. There aren't many bands that know how to do this, and Abba do this with unmatched precision. The Day Before You Came and Eagle are perfect examples for this and the new songs simply pick up where they left off.

To hear those voices back together and the artistry in the music is just what we needed. They're back better than ever. Your reaction was exactly the same as mine. I grew up to Abba and to see your reaction just shows what they mean to so many. Thanks for sharing

I'm glad to see you truly love their talents and music. I'm so happy they have reunited while they have the chance.
To those of us that have so many memories of growing up with their music, this is short of a miracle. We had been given no hope of seeing this.
I'm grateful maybe they understood the meaning their music had on so many people around the world.
Hang in there, I have shed my fair share of tears listening to these first two songs. And we have more to look forward to!!! ☺️

Firstly, thank you so much for reacting to "I Still Have Faith In You!" You are an absolute joy to watch and listen to. I started crying like an eegit as soon as I hear the first words from Frida's glorious voice. I always described her voice like a rich velvety chocolate, and my opinion hasn't changed. This song is so emotive, especially when you see the lyrics with the video! You captured that emotion so well. So thank you again. Can't wait to see and hear your reaction when the album is released!! Also, never apologise for being who you are. Sometimes the only adjective that fits is a swear word!!! 😊😊 Looking forward to hearing and seeing more from you!! Keep the ABBA flag/Gaming flag/ Metal flag flying high!! 🇮🇪

I grew up with parents playing ABBA like so many others in their late 40s today. I started buying Abba records myself around the Abba gold period in the early 90s. THAT was when Abba were still Young enough to get back on it and continue the Abba career with several more albums and a couple of world tours before calling it quits on new years eve 2000 when the members were 50-55 years old. That did not happen. Nothing 30 years ago, just Abba gold which sold 30 million worldwide and not doing a single new track. Well, at 71-76 years old they finally return with a new album and ten new songs. Inspirational. I am sure it will be good. The demand for another studio album will be huge, but it will only happen if they really had fun doing voyage and feel up to it. The money factor will play zero % into a decision. Us fans never get enough. We are ruthless. So good to have an upcoming album just a month away.
