It may very well be that the “lockout” IS the bug and it will be fixed to always work regardless of direct hits!

It's bugged because other weapons get the ammo refund when timer is active. Problem is that if Bungie looks into this more they'll see it is too strong to just continually give free ammo.

One of the only creators I've seen who goes in depth in how a weapon, its perks, and the combinations of them, WORK, rather than just saying a roll and how to use it. So much respect for what you're doing man, keep it up!

Seconding this. i respect creators like iFrostBolt, but he (and many others) just go "hey this is the best and meta", and sometimes i need a bit more gritty details to perform and know how to use it, why the gun is good, and if my skill level would be better off using a more forgiving weapon.
@@Tsaphah_77 Absolutely!! To me the biggest part is him addressing the less attractive/popular perk options, and how those may be fun/just worth having to mix up your sandbox. Other creators will only talk about 2-3 out of the like 10 possible perks, while he will usually touch on most of them, maybe omitting a few obviously trash ones lol

tusk is a great example of how messy wave frames are when it comes to coding
the way the research on this had my brain messed up. Took me forever to understand the reset vs the 3 hits vs the impact being 2 hits. I hope it all came across clean in this video.

Seems like a lot of micromanagement for a weapon that is really meant for Ease of use. A slice hatchling roll makes the most sense for me especially for onslaught next week. Green stuff everywhere clearing the room
I talk about it towards the end, but using this more as ease of use like you said still works out surprisingly well. Just got to adjust to aiming RIGHT at enemies. That said, of course, slice/envious/hatchling/chain are all going to be favorites.
Slice chain is still gonna be the go to ad clear roll. Even after the nerf in final shape if the ads that are meant to be killed by CR still do die then there’s nothing to worry about. Now if it can’t kill simple thralls or acolytes and such then it’s a dead perk for sure

@@Legoleflash Ye, I see it as even if u don't get the refund all the time, you are still x2 or even x3 ur total ammo, which is NUTS. Pair it with Indebted Kindness, for ez double special.
Plus it's rlly not that hard to manage, like u said. Also, forbearance still exists, if I can't use that playstyle.

The Deconstruct bug is neat but in the heat of the moment I don’t anticipate this tech being exploited consistently.
I'd be surprised if it doesn't get disabled really quickly.

Look man... this is neat, but if I try and break a Well like this, I'm gonna get my ass beat. This theoretical stuff is COOL, but I'm just a basic bitch tryin' to shoot some dudes. I know if I ever pull up to a Well tryin' to pull this stuff off, it's lights out. For me.
Lmao that's what I'm saying. You're not playing anybody good if you think they'll gonna let you get clear shots in to shoot the sword in an actual game 😂
To me, the Well-deletion capability of the weapon is a side benefit that might sometimes come up, especially if multiple people on your team have the same roll. The real reason to use it is that it destroys a barricade that's been tickled by someone else without expending any ammo if shot correctly, letting you use the weapon more freely without feeling punished for it.
IMO the play isn't to try to get the refund in this way, it's just to do so much damage to the well sword that it becomes viable to finish it with a primary (I can see myself running this with Deconstruct The Title on PKs and using it this way)
Riptide is the most versatile Kinetic slot Fusion for PVP.

I ignorantly scrapped a few tusks before realizing what it can do and because I never was a grenade launcher fan, I was also unaware of the chain reaction trait. Now I'm hoping to get a good Tusk before Iron Banner ends.
Not playing Destiny 2 for so many months probably caused me to miss out on other helpful weapons.

Envious loads 3 into the chamber, and chain reaction creates a pretty nasty explosion. I’m rocking with that roll! Even if chain reaction gets nerfed it’s still gonna be fun.

Once we get this on a normal breach load gl or the new micromissile frame, it could get even better, particularly on the missile frame. Since it explodes on impact, and the impact and detonation are separate, it would theory proc on direct impacts for quick follow up free shot. I went and checked mountaintop because of this video to check if they snuck this perk on there, unfortunately not.
Oh a missile frame would be CRAZYYYYY. Can't wait to see what final shape holds.

Hatchling is nuts on this thing. You can create more than 1 Threadling *per shot*, my record so far for Threadlings createsd in just one shot is 3, from 9 kills. The damage that mass threadlings churn out with the matching fragment is kinda crazy, snd of course, they can hunt targets farther away.

That's because fragment and artifact perk and depending on the enemy destroyed threading spawn more on higher tier targets. There's still a cooldown on threading generation
@@rickiboulter3053 Nope. I wasn't using the artifact mods and I was on Solar, specifically to test this.
Edit: For reference, I was just testing a second time, this time on my Void titan instead of Solar, with no artifact mods.
With my Hatchling roll, I waited just outside the door for the first round of thralls to spawn. I allowed them to group up a bit, fired just one, single shot, and spawned 3 Threadlings. Give it a try!
Edit 2: As I was writing this update, I repeated my test at the door, and this time I managed to get four Threadlings!
As an added note, I've been using the Warlord's Ruin bow with Archer's tempo and Hatchling a lot (5000+ kills) and it too seems to spawn Threadlings without a cooldown as every precision kill has always spawned a Threadling when I've used it.

@@63antrod so, I was thinking this at first too, but actually running it was a lot better than I thought. I'm not saying it's meta or anything, but I was really impressed with some of the stuff I could pull off with very little effort!
If the "lockout" is a bug, and it works against Bubble from a distance in a fix later on, this is going to be a major must have. Just imagine SNIPING a bubble down with infinite ammo, lol.
Even though I plan on replacing it in the future with either the Mountaintop or the TFS Strand rocket pistol, I’m rocking with the Slice/CR roll on this thing as my kinetic slot utility weapon

Always great videos. I got one after opening like my second engram, and i grabbed an Envious Assassin Chain Reaction pretty quick. Chain Reaction is such a great perk in the energy slot, and i think this is the first wave frame in the kinetic slot, right?

Ive found awkward procs on Attrition Orb with the Undercurrent and I wonder if the same thing is happening here with the wave not acting the way it should.
The wave is DEFINITELY to blame for some of this. It used to not proc golden tricorn when it first came out either.
They need to give Cerberus +1 Decontruct at this point...

I didn’t realize a wave frame splits into two when you slow down the footage. At 4:04 you can see it. I might be tripping but it looks like it does. I mean it makes sense one for impact damage and one for the wave damage.

I'd recommend getting a general use version of this first, prob something like Envious + Chain, Slice + Chain, Slice + Hatchling, just whatever floats your boat.
Definitely worth having for the uniqueness of it!!!

I went for Grave Robber (+Decon) to commit Thunderclap war crimes (I think this is the first Wave Frame with Grave Robber!), but I'm debating snagging a Slideways roll for ease of use. (Swash doesn't move the needle on the TClap combo at all so...)
this Deconstruct tech is 100% getting fixed. There's no reality in which I use this F tier perk
If they fix Deconstruct not working without direct hits and make it easy to use, it becomes an actually good weapon. We'll have wait and see.

The problem as I see it is that, either by Bungie's design so that Deconstruct is terrible on waveframes or due to a bug, the wave per se cannot re proc the ammo effect the way every single other weapon that has deconstruct works. It is meant to be a timer for the damage buff, there is not meant to be a cooldown for the ammo side of the perk, that's how it plays out in indebted kindness for instance. So for tusk specifically apparently the wave was made so that it basically doesn't count as hits once you proc it once, which to me really seems like a bug rather than some special tunning
And if they fix that, ohhhhh this is going to get good.

Hey Legole, shouldn’t deconstruct required hits be only 2? Since 50% of 1 is 0.5 and as the perk states round it down to zero?

Indebted kindness may be a good one to look at too? Has devonstruct and sundering. I kept one because it sounded interesting
I REALLY wanted that one to work with the Deconstruct rework but it was TERRIBLE about refunding ammo because of the large magazine size. That said, in the vid I already have about it I showcased how it takes down Titan barricades VERY EASILY. I should try it on bubble / wells and see how it does.

I am so stoked about this thing. I am also very happy Bungie warned us that chain reaction is getting nerfed in the final shape. I really like this advanced heads up. But this thing on strand titan just feels great. But now I gotta narrow down my rolls. I collected probably 40 different rolls. I plan on keeping 3 or 4.
I didn't hear about that chain reaction nerf so thanks for the heads up! I found an envious/hatchling roll so I think I'll keep that for now and see how it goes since chain reaction won't be as sought after
Chain reaction will still be a god tier perk. Stuff will still explode the exact same

@@sladevalen2120 I'm not sure if Hatchling is of any real value on a weapon like this. You'll only get a single threadling to spawn no matter how many enemies you kill, and since it's a weapon designed for add-clear there shouldn't be anything left standing for that threadling to track to and attack. Even if there's a Major that survives the initial wave and will now eat a threadling for it, it's not likely to be enough to down them anyway unless the content is just that easy to begin with (which is a place where it doesn't matter what you bring in the first place).
I just think Hatchling isn't worth the time on weapons that already take out groups in a single shot.
If I could get it to drop that would be nice (I am never touching deconstruct in my life)

I don't think skulking is necessarily good outside trials specifically. I feel like 1x field tested on this role would make it more consistent 2x in 6v6 would be easier to proc at least in my matches where first contact is every one in the same lane at once

This is great, and I appreciate all the intricate details in the video. However, the scenarios presented are highly unlikely to be consistently pulled off. It's almost to a point of not being worth it at all. Just my opinion, but I'd much rather just take the weapon as it is with a great combo of Slice/Envious and Chain Reaction.
Totally get that, I know I go for the perk underdogs and interesting interactions, hopefully it’s good still having the normal roll recommendations at the end too.
If only I could get one to drop. I'm some 40 engrams in and not one.

@@Legoleflash I have opened around 45 engrams and I just keep getting envious or slide ways I haven’t even seen slice on a single roll yet. And I’ve only got hatchling once. Rng is terrible.
if this could roll chain reaction in 3rd and hatchling in 4th i'd say it's pretty good.
Also, people don't give hatchling enough respeck. It is busted after the buff. Every precision kill (i know, useless on waveframes) spawns a hatchling.
You can clear entire raid rooms of red bars/orange bars stupid fast with hatchling builds. You can even melt champions fairly quick if you stun then spawn stupid amounts of threadlings (grapple melee, threadling nade, whatever.)
I "solo"d kali farming for red borders, i had 1 person stun lock while I did the initial plates, (i was threadlock) then once damage rotation started
Tractor Kali
Throw threadling grenade
Shoot rufus' fury with Enh WeeWoo rounds and Enh hatchling at the boss/ads as they spawn
Throw my powered melee at Kali
Shoot with Rufus' til my grenade came back
Rinse repeat
I cooked Kali in 90 seconds "solo" damage with a Rufus and threadling galore.
Now, if there was a strand wave-frame that could roll the combo of Chain reaction + hatchling and they worked off of eachother, that thing would be true top tier adclear for everything. It'd be so nice to compensate not being able to do precisions.

Why are all the parks such a mystery and so vaguely described by bungo?
I think at this point the game is just super complicated. It took me a full 24 hours to figure it out and be able to even start to describe it to someone else. I can't imagine having to fit it all into a little text bubble.
Think about how long it took to get visible weapon stats. Bungie subscribes to the "vague descriptions" notion of player-facing information because it protects suboptimal players from knowing they're suboptimal. Lots of games did this in the past and they still do it today because they believe that if the player *knows* they're being left in the dust then they might quit. It's a tactic to retain players as most players will never look up a guide, watch a video, or even care about what their character and weapon stats even represent.
There are so many people I see running around with exotic weapons and armor that do nothing for a particular build that it's crazy. These are the people Bungie needs to keep because their cluelessness keeps the game alive.
@@Legoleflash It's worse than that, though. Bungie also likes to throw around jargon that isn't even rooted in Destiny's vernacular. Go look at Wormhusk Crown and tell me what a "small health and shield bump" is if you had little to no gamer intuition. Bungie does stuff like this everywhere.
@@ForeverLaxx Bungie isn't entirely consistent about whether there is a distinction between health and shields or not. Wormhusk (and Mask of the Quiet One for that matter) are really old and seem to care about it, but most things don't.
There is no way a warlock is going to stand there and let anyone destroy that sward and not mow you down. Good Luck
I just got this weapon and cannot find an encounter to use it in.
Deconstruct is so interesting and broken XD However, I don't think it is as "practical" once you take it into the real world. Especially since you are trying to turn an add-clear weapon now into a "single-target" weapon that'll hopefully ricochet to other targets. (If that's the case, just run QSS if you want an infinite ammo GL). Additionally, I both hope/fear that the "bug" of being able to reset the timer on direct hits is just that: a bug. Removing that would make it an infinite ammo special with no restrictions, which isn't super healthy for the game, even if it costs a perk. I suspect the lockout that occurs when the Deconstruct times is on-screen is intentional "for single fire weapons". For weapons with multiple shots in the mag, it makes sense to get a small portion back with sustained damage, as eventually you'll still run out of ammo (or have to reload).
So, I was with you when seeing all this too... then I took it for a spin and my mind changed a bit. Still not meta, but I'm really impressed with all I could do with it in real PvE and PvP games. That said, still won't be meta unless they cancel the "lockout", because they you could snipe down bubbles with infinite ammo... and, wow, yeah that would be something.

First roll I got was a pinnacle envious + deconstruct...
this seems cool, but a primary with deconstruct (plus hakke if possible) can shred wells and barricades just as easily tbh without needing to manage ammo. I have won a few trials matches by just shooting a bubble or well with my deconstruct Title. the well takes half a mag and the bubble dies in about 3 mags. throw in some teamshots and you can totally catch a titan with its pants down.
