    Kahles I believe uses Swarovski glass. S&B PMII and higher I was told run Schott glass. IOR also uses Schott or did about 4 years ago. Good review, glad you like the optic. I've heard good things about ZC. S&B also has illuminated reticle. I hate the extra cost for a sunshade as well. Ridiculous.

    Great scope and great review. New stuff gives me pause though. I have ATACRs on 3 of my rifles and I love them, probably will just stick with them for my next rifle, my buddy swears by S&B PM IIs, he has a handful of them and refuses to change. I guess it comes down to personal preference in the end.

      Hi Dirtbiker! Yes, definitely a personal thing IMHO, that's why I try to tell people to do their research and find what works best for them...reticle, glass, function, etc... I bought a Bushnell XRS II when they were blowing them out. The Tremor 3 and H59 were similar priced to the very basic G3 reticle. Could not handle all that visual noise and went with the G3

    Have you tried Kahles? How does the glass look compared to this? Ladder tracking test? I’ve seen other reviews where this scope doesn’t track perfectly. There was a review about tracking and the only scopes on your matrix that tracked perfectly are Tangent and Kahles. At this price they better be 100% perfect.

    • @user-mw9yh4cu2i
      @user-mw9yh4cu2i Před rokem

      Get the Kahles, I’ve got both and ZC doesn’t track and they ignore emails about it. Basically a $3800 paperweight. Guess I got a lemon but fact that the only tracking test done on one on CZcams it’s also off should be a red flag that they arent putting out great products.

    Congratulations. I been thinking about selling a bunch of my stuff to buy one myself. My middle name should be close out. Have ten different scopes that retailed for over $1000.00. Paid $160 to $350. Brands like Crimson Trace, Brunton and Barra. Like them all. All made in Japan. But there is a difference between tier one vs. tier two. One thing that I have learned is people here in the States are so into brand names. And resale value is terrible on a brand that people aren’t familiar with. A good thing for getting a great scope on close out. But if you pay retail. And later want to sell it you will take a beating.

      There's a difference between $1000 and under Japanese made scopes compared to real tier 1 scopes. I bet those those $150 to $350 Japan made scopes still blows away any of those supposedly high end Chinese made scopes though. @@The4GunGuy Im a little conflicted about the razor on the 22 and Ill tell you why - I have a 3-15 on there now, at 400 yards its like having a 20 something scope at 1000 yards. • @The4GunGuy
      @The4GunGuy  Před 2 lety

      @@sf2189 Here's the thing, you won't EVER dial that Razor beyond 20 in the 22 match even at 400 yds which is maybe once in a match, maybe. We are generally staying within 300 yards in our matches. With that said, if you have a good, quality scope with clear glass now that you like maybe sell the Razor? You'll get good money for it. The one other thing to consider is the way the scope handles mirage, because the wind in 22 matches has a much larger affect than in centerfire as you probably already know. At 200 yds in a 22 match I may be dialing/holding 2 mils of wind! Maybe try your current scope for a bit, take the Razor to the range and put it on the bench and compare the two side by side to see what works the best for you? Just some thoughts.

The Razor will be a step up on my vudoo and has served me well on my bigger guns - so totally comfortable on how it handles mirage and seeing well through it - its a great scope with lots of podium finished (for others, lol). Ordering the Zero Comp today and putting that on the big gun - thats going to be amazing. It will be a nice step up from the 3-15 viper thats on the Vudoo now. At some point I will do same as you and sell the Razor and get another Zero Comp - if I got two now, my wife would kill me or make me buy her something as expensive. Lol.

    • @The4GunGuy
      @The4GunGuy  Před 5 měsíci

      Hi Donald! The scope you want or need really depends on a number of things. First is budget of course. Second to me is how good your eyes are now? I'm older, and I've moved from the ZCO to Vortex Razor Gen III's for my three competition rifles now since they fixed the initial issues they had when first released. I loved the ZCO, but the reality is that the best glass can't help my older eyes now, so it's a waste of money for me. I can't see bullet trace, period. If you're younger with great eyesight, then the ZCO, Tangent Theta, etc... might make the difference. Third is what are you going to use the scope for? If PRS competition, then again, a Razor Gen III or Gen II would be just fine. I still also have and use my TRACT Toric scope (see review on that one) which has excellent glass and one of the best reticles I've used. I hope this helps. Email me if you want to discuss further my friend and thanks as usual for watching!

      Hi Brian! Yeah, they're not cheap, but I promise you I've sold a BUNCH of stuff to afford it. I only have the scopes that are on my two competition rifles and don't like to keep stuff just to have it. I think there are many tier 2 scopes like the Vortex Razor Gen II that are great for competition. Hey thanks for watching my friend!

      I worked my way up from cheap to high end expensive Chinese made scopes then Nightforce and finally March and Kahles. Hard to go back to expensive (especially for being Chinese made) high end Chinese made scopes.

    ZC is for the rich people (like almost everything reviewed by gun channels) 😟

      Hey Randy! Trust me friend, I'm not rich. I sell many things to buy the next one thing like this scope, but certainly see your point. I hope to have this scope on my rifle until I stop shooting. Thanks for watching my friend!!

      I'm not rich but have worked my way up in scopes. At March and Kahles at the moment.

    Good scope, but over priced.

    Guess I’m unlucky because mine is trash, the 4-20x50 model. Yes the glass is clean but meaningless when it won’t track and something is clearly broken inside the turret system after less than 200rds. Multiple emails with one response asking a stupid question and ignored after that. Fortunately I’m blessed financially so it’s not life changing but I think about someone else saving and investing in one of these only to have this experience and it really irritates me.
    Might have to make a trip to shot in Jan and pay their booth a visit where they can’t ignore me.
    I think one of the owners was fired from NF then sued them to get the money to start this garbage company.
    So buyer’s beware, if you get a lemon it’s a $3800 paperweight.

      Hi Gideon! Man, sorry to hear about your bad experience. I've had the same type of experience with chassis, sizing dies, and other equipment, but the ZCO has been very good for me over the years (I've owned 5 of them on and off). Please keep pressuring them and make them take care of you...WE are the customer, and sometimes these manufacturers forget that. Thanks for watching my friend!
