Great great scope review! I really like your style of reviewing those scope! I can feel that you’re reviewing them after you had some experience with them and you had good experience with different scopes to compare them. Very helpful! Talking back to the scopes, I thinks the premier which turns to Tangent Theta from Canada should join this comparison. They three made the top tier scope in the market both on price and quality. TT definitely advance in their tooless zero system and it come with all the accessory you need, especially the tenabraex scope cap. A set of tenabraex cap is what I always have to buy every time I got a new scope.

Also, take a good look at the March 5-42x56. They are a benchrest class scope with every gadget you ever want and some of the best glass available. They also come with the best scope cap design. It folds flat at the front and the rear. They are a 34mm scope tube and have just as much travel (they are rated for 40MIL, but it's suggested to keep it to 30MIL).
I had a lot of the previous gen March 5-40x56 and they were awesome, but limited in some areas (turret design). The Gen 2 of that scope addresses those issues and the 5-42x56 attempts to put the best glass available.

Hey, you need to take a good look at the S&B 5-25x56 PMII with the MTC Locking Turrets. It doesn't solve your issue with the illumination dial, but the turrets are awesome. I have 5 of them. That's how much I love them. Also, all the discussion about the forgiving nature of the S&B is one of the main reasons I love them so much. I can use the Parallax knob as a range finder in most circumstances.
But really, the MTC/LT/DT turrets are the solution you are looking for in S&B. They really are that good.
I'd also look at the Spuhr ISMS one piece base. There is absolutely nothing better. The return to zero is dead on.
BTW, your explanations are just fine.

I do the same thing when it comes to running one scope on several guns....for elr (to me) I run a nightforce atacr in era tac quick release adjustable rings.....
Look into them ...I used rings with a torque wrench for years...mainly cause I didn't trust quick release rings for zero....
These eratac rings hold their zero with the flick of the release tabs go from gun to gun.....I remove the scope lots....and in never shifts....I write down the zeros of my guns on the scope caps and it's on.
    Nice review 👌.

S&B PMII illumination is made to be used with rear mounted light intensifying equipment, that is why it looks faint to the naked eye in daylight, and for some reason they still make them that way.

Nice review of these tactical scopes, thanks. The ZCO received several more "advantages" than the S&B. However, the lack of rubber on the eyepiece is a big concern. Selection of a rifle scope boils down to having to make some compromises, and which factors are more important than others for your specific purpose. You didn't mention weight, and you didn't mention price (although you did reference both were in the $3k range). Your analysis made me want to take a look at the Kahles due to the reticle illumination.

@@quarterminutemagnums Agreed. Not to offend. Your analysis is spot on. However, the essence of your art (rifle builds) is a mix of LR, or ELR shooting and hunting. I suspect you would recommend a scope to fit the client's main purpose. EG - S&B 10x42 Klassik for light weight hunting, or similar. Chicken parts is chicken parts.

Great review. Thank you! However, the point of spending $4K on an optic is to be able to turn those turrets and it return exactly back to zero.

    Hello from Ukraine
buddy, I have a problem, I can only lower the turret down at the zero mark, for example, if my zero is not correct and I make a couple of clicks to correct it. and therefore I try to lower the drum in order to shoot at the grid in the future - I cannot do this. I can only lower the turret down at the zero mark, it is very inconvenient when there is no tool at hand

The only reason to have a big tube is for more adjustment range, not any optical advantages. Also its no secret that the parallax problem in zco scopes is a flaw with the scope design.
