  • For those who might not know, CT5 translates to Cadillac compact-luxury-sedan style. Tough competition awaits this American offering, but let's see what Kelley Blue Book's Micah Muzio has to say about it.

    I just got a 2024 with the 3.0TT package. I’ve been loving it so far. I’m in my early 20s and I have to say, this was probably the best American-made car I could get for the price, hands down. I’m not a huge fan of all the chrome trim but that can be fixed. And it has real wood interior! You don’t see that very often. The 3.0TT even has a little backfire when you give it some juice, I’m not sure if that’s something fake they just pump through the speakers, but it sounds crazy hearing that in a caddy. Great American sedan, the last of its kind

    As the targeted potential younger buyer I'll give Cadillac credit where credit is due, they wanted to start attracting more youngins to the brand and with this car I definitely think they're heading in the right direction. Seems like a decent offering of standard equipment too but I wouldn't want to own a Cadillac without supercruise and you didn't mention the pricing of any of the other trim levels, unless I didn't hear it? Could be a nice alternative luxury sedan to be had for under $55K if such one exists with all or most of the bells and whistles. Gj Cadillac 👏 if I find out it's not unreliable, you may have a shot

      @mybro727 Před 4 lety

      B Blackwell The Cadillac CT5 competes with the BMW 3-Series. It’s size doesn’t determine who it was designed to compete with so it’s length in inches is irrelevant. If you go just solely off of the CT5’s dimensions it would be more comparable with a BMW 5-series, but the dimensions are misleading since it’s a “tweener”. The CT5 was designed to go head-to-head in the compact luxury sedan segment.

      Christopher Calder I have been studying the looks of this car for a while and have come to the conclusion that this is the most beautiful car Cadillac has produced since 1970. Think of a car brand as a type of novel. Think of a car designer as a type of movie director. It’s then not hard to think of each new car as a personal (if done well) movie of the original novel. It’s an interpretation of a theme or idea. Looking at car design that way has allowed me to let go of expectations and give a new design a chance; as I usually end up re-examining a car’s design years down the road anyway. The new CT5 works for me because it doesn’t have a bad angle. Everything seems to stick to theme and the side profile is very dramatic (for me, that is). Cheers!

      Ahmad Harris it’s not that confusing if you’re familiar with the brand. The CT5 is competing in a segment below it’s predecessor (CTS) but not because it’s shrunk a lot in size. It’s only a few inches shorter than the Cadillac CTS it replaces but they’ve managed to increase the wheelbase in comparison to the outgoing CTS offering what Cadillac anticipates to be class leading occupant space.
      Cadillac CT4 will compete with Mercedes-Benz A-class, BMW 2-series, Acura ILX, Lexus IS, etc.

      Exactly. I felt a sigh of relief when I saw the USB-C in back seat. btw, I believe USB-C will become totally dominant when iPhones ditch the Lightning port for USB-C. Forcing all the other small companies holding onto Micro-USB items to switch too, otherwise they lose sales.

    It's a shame how engineers and designers spend all of this time and effort creating a great automobile and improving upon the vehicles they replaced just to have it half-heartedly gone through in 8 minutes, which seems to be the case here. And can we get a car review that doesn't compare the interior to a German car. At this point the interior is a matter of preference not quality. Overall Cadillac's interior look really great in person. I feel like a more serious approach should be taken to get a more thorough look at Cadillac's newest sport sedan.

      Nobunaga Oda I predict the new redesigned Cadillac CT6 will lose several overall inches in length like the CTS did here with it’s successor the Cadillac CT5. It will be shorter in length but not much shorter in wheelbase in comparison to the current Cadillac CT6. The all new redesigned CT6 will compete in that segment along with the BMW 5-Series, Mercedes-Benz E-Class, Audi A6, Lexus ES, Acura RLX, etc.

      @@RBZ06LT6 I know my taste is different than the majority’s, but I like the classic and more conservative look of Lincolns. I think Cadillac and every other luxury car brand (with few exceptions) have been coming out with very sporty, boy-racer-like designs, which I’m not particularly fond of. Lincolns are also very comfortable and reasonably-priced. I like their understated elegance, which is something that the vast majority of luxury cars lack. Anyhow, it’s just a personal taste of mine and I can understand if you or others disagree and have a different taste and opinion.

    They really messed up with this car and hopefully they can sell a few so they can afford to fix the mistakes. Whoever approved the design of the C pillar needs to be fired and banned from designing cars for life! WTF were they thinking? Looks too much like a average Altima or Accord. I'll take an outgoing ATS or CTS over this. Only thing I like is the fact it's still RWD and has a 10-speed. I'll save for a 3rd Gen "V".
