    The base AT color schemes push me toward the ATAS.
    The base last looked good in 2017 with its tri color red white and blue with the gold forks, gold wheels and gold bars. I’m just tired of red and black lol.

    Awesome video!! Been following your channel from uo here in Alaska;) You do an awesome job and your vantage point really resonates with the average every day rider!! I'm personally debating between the adventure sports and the triumph rally pro. Both similar, its a toss up.

    True, I love my 2023 Africa twin adv es manual. She can do everything I can’t, only complaints: gas thirsty, the hard seat, ok brakes and heavy sensation when leaning(21) in curves.

    0:33 you are riding in the middle, you have to ride with your high beams on directly into their side mirrors so right on the lane markers...

    Just bought one. I also have a 2017 AT "base" model. I had a bit of confusion, having not followed the newest of the new when I heard the AT AS was more road worthy. I'm planning a midwest to AK trip next summer. I think the AT AS is perfect.

    I bought the es base in tri colour dct and saved £1700. I had the 22 SA with 21 FW and loved it on the road as well. So the upgrades make it close to the 22 with a big saving just no cornering lights and 19 inch FW.

    It's unfortunate Honda does not sell the NT1100 in USA. Obviously for street use only but it is very very good with the base platform the same as the AT.

    I chose the 2024 Honda ATAS because 1) DCT, 2) Reliability, 3)19” front tire, 4)Good at doing it all. I have a 21 Goldwing Tour DCT Airbag that I tour all over the US. I LOVE the DCT auto for long distance and DCT in manual sport mode for the twisties. The ATAS will be my touring bike in South America where the roads are not good enough for the Goldwing.

    Very nice bike! It can be a pop to the shops, go to work, go tour, or do some off road bike! If only it had heated seat! Bmw and triumph do! I'm looking at about £1000 to get a kit, that needs to be fitted to the seat base, then take the tank off to plumb the wiring!

    An interesting comparison would be to compare the Honda CRF1000L (late 2015 and early 2016) against the 2024 offering. Depending on the performance indicators, I’d suggest while the incremental developments are noticeable, the earliest models have withstood the test of time. I’ve been itching to trade up my fully farkled ‘18 AF DCT but I’ve got to ask: Is the juice still really worth the squeeze?

  • @DunDoke

    I just got the same bike today, but I noticed a significant issue with the handlebar vibrating excessively. I've never experienced this with my previous bike. At first, I thought it might be due to the wind hitting the windshield, but even when I'm sitting still in neutral, the vibration persists to the point where the mirror visibly shakes. Are you experiencing the same issue with your bike? I suspect the dealership might have messed up while installing some OEM parts for me.

    If both came with 21 inch wheels, would you have still gotten the Africa twin adventure sport?

  • @TWTourist

    I have both bikes. The ‘21 ATASESDCT and ‘23 300 Rally. I choose the AT as my LD bike due to 6.5 gal tank, tubeless tire and DCT. The cornering lights was bonus. The Rally is my local, back road exploring, commuting, do it all within 200 miles bike. I ride the Rally more days out of the month but I put more miles on the AT. Would I tread my ‘21 for a ‘24 with a 19 front? Only if I total my ‘21. 🤣

    I try to decide between new 2024 Tiger 900 Rally Pro, or 2024 ATAS manual.
    Tiger is 20kg lighter, $2500 cheaper, and more powerful than ATAS. Can you share some thoughts and opinions about those two bikes?

  • @ronheater2421
    @ronheater2421 Před měsícem

    I do believe in the US the base AT for 2024 is not available with the ES setup, only the ATAS. Is this correct? Its is available in other countries with it however.

    Thanks for the video and valid points, 19" front wheel make sense for +90% of all AT owners I think.
    I suggest considering the DCT, it's awesome even on my old dog AT 2017.
    Where is this filmed? Looks very nice.

    From a DIY perspective, is the 24 models air filter under the fuel tank now? Worse for checking and cleaning trail dust off air filter.

    • @Adventure_blac
      @Adventure_blac Před měsícem

      @@adventureundone yeah. Thats wack. The base with ES would make it the perfect adventure bike IMO. Difference in price in pounds pulled from Hondas uk site is 13200 for the base and 14700 for the base with ES. 1500 pounds difference. That’s equivalent to 1920 USD. But that’s not really an accurate price translation because the price in pounds is 13200 for the base(16,898 is usd) but the base in the states is 14800.

      @kirkbecker7919 Před 24 dny +1

      I have a 24 Adventure Sport and it does have auto cancelling turns. I'm not sure how they actually work as they seem to turn themselves off at times when you are sitting at a light or when you are coming to a slow to make a turn. I just get into the habit of cycling the turns again to ensure they stay on. After the turn they will stay on for a few flashes.
