I only skip BioBroly to when Goten and Trunks turn SSJ and fight. That’s the only reason I watch it.
Bio Broly has no reason to exist, but is still better than Second Coming... seriously though, I can't believe this character's popularity survive such awful sequels, I mean, Bio Broly is the GOOD Broly sequel, let that stick for a moment!

The one thing I liked about bio broly is that Goten and Trunks were the center characters of the movie and weren't thrown on the side line for Goku and Vegeta to save the day.

One thing to note about Path to Power is that it was made as a 10 year anniversary special for the anime instead of being the usual "extended episode" promo film that are shown at conventions for marketing purposes. That may explain why it's so much higher quality with more care and attention put into it than all of the others

My Uncle Had The Disc That Said Dragon Ball Evolution So I Said “Oh hey I can watch dragon ball Z!” But when I popped in the disc I got this intro with piccolo and I was like “ok maybe this is a movie?” But when Goku was sleeping and opened his eyes I legit took the disc out and I thought it wasn’t a dragon ball movie at all
I would rather watch Bio-Broly over and over and over then watch Dragon Ball Evolution ever again (it's so bad that it makes Bio-Broly look like a masterpiece when compared)

At the very least the guy who played Piccolo in DB Evolution redeemed himself by voicing Zamasu
@Chad Laine , the dub, at least starting with the Zamasu Arc, was MILES ahead the Japanese voice track. Compared to previous arcs, when the only good voices were those of Goku, Vegeta&Piccolo and Krillin, the people who voiced the dub were absolutely perfect for all the characters. Whis? Perfect Maitre'd/Somelier. Zamasu? Elegant psycho and sociopath, with great tea-brewing skill and godly civilization-wiping powers. Black? Nega-Goku, only way cooler. 17? Utterly awesome, Jiren-taunting smooth talking battle tactician. The dub was superior to the Japanese voiceover in every single way.

@DP91 yeah those too, but you might as well add the Trunks, and Bardock OVA's cause there basically Mini Movies.
I know Bio-Broly isn't great, but seeing Android 18, Goten and Trunks in the lead role, and Krillin getting to have a little "save the day" moment is still awesome.
I mostly feel like they totally wasted the idea of Broly clones.
Like, what if it was Goten, Trunks, 18 and Krillin vs four or five Broly clones? That would have been tense and awesome!

A lot of games are better than XV2. Its not a good game. Better than XV1, but still. And they ranked them on different reasons.
@@nightwalker174 it's a decent game. Its biggest drawback is only after DLC is when you really get a full on fun experience but it's still DEFINITELY better than Battle of Z and the reasons they out Battle of Z so high up can be just as easily applied to DBX2

Broly second coming is literally just Broly screaming and unable kill Gohan,Goten, Trunks and even Videl! Yeah even if Bio-Broly is bad, Seconds Coming is worst.

My least favorite Dragon Ball movie but my third favorite Toxic Avenger movie
The laugh track is pure gold.

The fart sound effects were the best for every reference of evolution.
It's good to see Fusion Reborn being appreciated, it was a surprisingly good movie that managed to take the Buu-like villain in a new direction and, in a shocking twist, is one of the few movies where Vegeta is given a significant role instead of just having his ass kicked by the villain.
Curse of the blood rubies was my introduction to dragonball when I was like 8 or something.

I just wanna know why they chose Broly for the whole Biogenetic villain thing. Majin Buu or Janemba would’ve made a lot more sense because they’re already gooey like.

The people who made the "Bio-Warriors" somehow managed to get Broly's DNA. Majin Buu and Janemba didn't really have DNA.

Honestly I remember liking Sleeping Princess a decent bit when I first saw it, although it is somewhat slow when they first get to the castle. Although I can see why people didn’t like it, I’m glad you enjoyed it as much as you did.

Honestly, through history of Dragon ball anime, character not designed by Toriyama usually feels wrong, like they're not belong to DB world.

I'm actually surprised Broly's second coming wasn't selected for this list.
My three favorites are Return of Cooler, Fusion Reborn, and Bojack Unbound. I like those because of how much action and plot relevance there is. It makes me want to watch them over and over again.

I like your approach because it’s not from a fanboy lens. So I’d like to see you handle a show that shares ideals from DB, i.e. pure kid with unrealistic powers, but have a better, or more cohesive, narrative. Thank you

I can’t wait for him to watch broly second coming which was actually a good film minus the bad humor with trunks and goten but as a sequel to the original broly film it was interesting to see broly again and to see teen gohan actually doing something that and Lr teq broly in dokkan is awesome and reawoke my original love for second coming as broly simply put is awesome and in his new incarnation really keeps to it by being so far the best anti hero in dragonball (I’m counting vegeta as a hero since he’s no longer evil just self driven)

My own hot take, I enjoyed Bio Broly, it was a fun experience seeing a film that worked with otherwise minor characters that usually just sit back and wait for Goku
Also, it had a real plot.
Interestingly enough, the guy who played Piccolo in DragonBall Evolution also played English dubbed Zamasu in Super.
TBH he was the only guy that was a dragon ball fan on that film if it wasn't for him piccolo would have been white instead of green in db evolution.

Oh yhi remember seeing some of that princess one but didn't realise it was a movie. Thought it was just an episode. The parts I saw were pretty funny tho. The part when krillin started freaking out when goku started transforming was hilarious.
Thank God he didn't mention Tree of Might. I'm still waiting for any mention of it in his videos. Keep up the great work

Also, I've never heard of Evolution being what inspired BoG. BoG came out because Toei wanted a celebration movie of Dragon Ball. Toriyama only came in to review the script, and after absolutely hating the script he rewrote it and fell back in love with the franchise.

My guy, Broly is a lackluster film with a boring, bland villian, Its not the worse, I can agree with that.. But it still is NOT good.
Broly is not a good movie. It had some decent action sequences and broly's design is cool but that's it.

I remember Curse of the Blood Rubies. I rented it on VHS from Premier Video. It was nearly 25 years ago, but I remember enjoying it a lot. And considering Path to Power came out 10 years after Blood Rubies- CotBR in 1986 and PtP in 1996- I'm willing to cut it some slack in regards to the slightly poorer animation quality.
I'm such a minority, in that I like Bio Broly more than the original Broly movie and Dragon Ball Super Broly. I like the 2nd Broly movie best, though. Bio Broly had a unique aesthetic, used totally different characters.. including giving 18 a huge role, the actual fight scene between Goten, Trunks and Broly is really well done, choreography wise. The music is incredibly good (Japanese), even during the silly moments with the Bio Warriors. The only part I dislike is the ending.

Fusion Reborn was the movie that my grandma took me to the movies so I could watch after she took me from school for the weekend. I remember in later date she made a joke about Mr. H appearing in it when she took me to the dentist... afterwards we went to grocery store I got Digimon cereal, which I asked because there was Digimon on it, don't know I felt the necessity.
0:40 - 3:05: The funniest thing I've seen/heard in a long time. The "melting goop" every time you said Bio-Broly's name is just the funniest thing in this review and that includes the Evolution review.
WHAT is the Music at 6:48? I rewatched the whole DB and DBZ some years ago and heard that dramatic piece in some episode and it sounded SOOO familiar but i could not find the name or anything...till this day it frustrates me sooo hard

I liked Sleeping Princess. Kind of reminded me of Goku meets Castlevania.

I also liked Dead Zone, but mostly because I liked the dynamic looking fight scenes of those earlier DBZ movies. Still felt like some martial arts (same reason I liked World's Strongest, that one had some amazing fights) where later in the series the fight scenes started to get less dynamic and more about ki blast battles and stuff (with one outlier being SSJ1 Goku vs Cell which was an absolutely awesome fight - youtube's "Theatrical" edit of it is even better - there are more outliers but you know what I mean). I also like every time young Gohan goes rage mode, so the ending of the movie was dope to me. I also liked Bojack Unbound because it too had some great animation, so some of the fights were great - had a few cool character moments, krillin was funny and of course another SSJ2 Kid Gohan moment - all around pretty good. Tournaments are a mainstay of the series since OG DB, and this one was pretty unique. Most of these movies I watched subbed, not dubbed, so that may have changed my experience (usually, imo, for the better).
I didn't like any of the Cooler movies. Didn't like Tree of Might either. Obviously Bio Broly was bad, and Evolut...yeah never mind, that one doesn't exist.
I’ve been a dragonball fan my whole life. I also saw DB Evolution in theaters. In 2014 i started watching Shameless. A Netflix show that’s honestly really good. I usually just watch anime (sorry if that’s cringe...) but I’ve been watching shameless for years. Recently my friend came over and saw me watching the new season and wanted to watch it from the beginning since he liked the show so much. I watched it with him and didn’t think anything of it besides “That Steve/Jimmy guy looks so familiar.” I’ve always thought that since 2014/2015 when I started watching shameless. Now.... now I realize he is Goku in the DB Evolutions movie....
