- In this video, part 5 of our Greenland series, we hop back aboard Air Greenland’s trusty Dash 8 and take it for a flight down to Nuuk via Kangerlussuaq. We’re in the flight deck for the first leg, enjoying more views of icebergs on departure and then hearing from the pilots about the challenges (and the appeal) of flying in Greenland. Then we miss our next flight, but the following morning we continue the journey to Nuuk, Greenland’s capital, this time in the passenger cabin. Make sure to stick around for this part because we are treated to another gorgeous day with incredible views of snowy mountains below. The landing in Nuuk is especially awe-inspiring, and gives us an aerial view of the runway and airport construction there, due to be complete in 2024. Join us for a couple of days of proper Greenlandic flying!

Thanks for your Greenland series. I feel I have got to know it well and now I want to go there myself! The video style is superbly minimalistic, with occasional low key narration, all shot on what looks like an iPhone. The cockpit shots are great and views out of the windows superb. We, the viewers, feel like we’re there. Love the planes and the prominent red livery. The pilots are cool and professional. What an amazing job they do every day.
Stunning views of Greenland.
The views and narration of your journey through Greenland is therapeutic! Loving this aspect of travel to places off the beaten path. Keep up the good work 🙂
Many thanks!
Can't agree more. Love this series.
@@stevengarner4596 Yes, I, too.
Greenland is ridiculousy breathtaking, beautiful...🥰
This Greenland series is quite excellent and I am enjoying it greatly! Many thanks ...
Great video, well balanced between narration, music and the ever enjoyable tones only a Dash-8 can provide - that never gets old.
Thank you!
Flying in Greenland, is always stunning...Tried, Qaqortoq- >Narsarssuaq(by helicopter Sikorsky S61) Narssauaq-CPH. Narssarsuaq-Nuuk, CPH-Kangerlussuaq, Billund-Kangerlussuaq and of course, Kangerlussuaq-Nuuk.
😀Amazing👍👍👍
Brilliant videos . Love your work
I love the Dash 8s and the Nuuk airport cams are the best place to watch them. thanks.
Indeed, very interesting.
That FO… WOOF!❤❤❤
Really enjoyed the flight. P.S. The pilots need new seats.
This is a beautiful video, oh how I long to go to Greenland, it's my hearts desire to go there one day!!
Awesome! Wonderfully filmed and narrated, stunning scenery, a truly interesting video to watch
Fantastic video! Really enjoyed watching. Greenland 🇬🇱 is so unique. Greetings from 🇬🇷
If there was a film made about my life, I would have Gabriel narrate it!
:-)
wonderful video and flight !!!
Thanks a lot!
Hi Gabriel. Greetings from Montreal. I'm loving your channel. I've only read many accounts about Greenland from a historical perspective from Jared Diamond. Getting to see it up close and personal through your eyes is truly amazing. Thanks !!
Great to hear, thank you!
Muy buenos videos. Qué linda experiencia. Gracias por mostrarnos esos lugares tan distantes para nosotros. Abrazo.
Absolutely love this series. Takes me back to 2019, when I got to ferry one of our Q400s from Halifax back to Riga after it’s C-check. We flew over the southern tip of Greenland- only got to see a little bit, but it’s definitely a breathtakingly beautiful country- you’re a lucky man to be able to have this experience. Also- the guys and gals flying up there have an extremely cool and demanding job. Thanks for sharing.
Yes, indeed.
Another great video
Like said earlier, Air Greenland has a great CRM (Crew Ressource Management)...the respectful lingua, between the Captain, the First Officer and Cabin Crew is flawless. Flown with A.G. dozens of times and never, felt unsafe.😘
Very true!
Thank you very much for this amazing video/s! It´s as if we would look together out of the window onto this phantastic landscape and talk with the pilots.
Hopefully I will be able to visit this one day!...
send that FOs seat to the upholstery shop. good hangar stacking. noticed at the big airport there are lots of cones in use. not so at Nuuk apparently. surprised Air Greenland has different policies at different airports. here every plane had the nose and mains chocked. every piece of equipment had chocks or brakes including fuel trucks. all ground movements had a tug operator and a wing walker carrying chocks. any time an aircraft was put in or taken out of a hangar there was a tug operator and two wing walkers, one carrying chocks. interesting
Love this trip to my home country. You made some great vlogs out of this. Also an fyi. You don’t have to check in until an hour before flight when it’s an inbound trip. Maybe you can do another trip later in 2022 when they get a new airbus or wait until the new airport is done in Nuuk in 2024. The airbus will start flying to there instead of Kangerlussuaq. And probably use Kangerlussuaq as a backup.
Planning to be there when they get the new Airbus this year! Can't wait to go back. Thanks for the comment!
Are they gonna get a330neo?
@@JNK1337 - Yes, the -800.
@@Flightradar24DotCom Ah, nice to know that! :-) The current A 330-200 is a former aircraft of Sabena, built in 1998.
With that airport expansion at Nuuk, I wonder if it could become a diversion landing place for distressed intercontinental flights.
It certainly could, weather permitting!
🇧🇷👍
OY-GRM is only one dash-8-200 without Q
Your content is fantastic all viewers love it.
However one criticism though there isn’t really a sense of flow and arch when posting videos
E.g you flew in a helicopter with the rescue team in Iceland than the next video is a binter Embraer.
It’s just a small criticism nothing big
I don't think you can swim in the sea in Nuuk, not even in summer.
Sure you can! Just not for too long.
