Man, to fly in the jump seat with seasoned 200 pilots. So nice. Love this plane.
Small Captain but handles that plane like a boss !!!
size does not matter here, lol!
Fantastic video. Lovely cold weather. Great to see real life temperature corrected altitudes being discussed and implemented. The Captain made some real smooth inputs to the control column and wheel. Thanks.
Thanks very much!
Just fabulous video. Lovely snowy landscape. Excellent control and approach and perfect touchdown. Very professional Captain and FO..
Safe and happy landings. God bless !
Fantastic flight! Thank you for sharing and taking us along. Hope to do the journey in person some day! Cheers!
I love the Dash 8. Alaska Airlines used them when I flew to Oregon from Southern California.
Absolutely love the mighty Dash
I was on the 200, so much fun. Amazon river up and down.
Absolutely fantastic ..thanku so much always so well filmed thanku so much love an god bless x
Thanks very much Wendy!!
How cold !!! 😱😉😆😆😆This good commander gives me calm and confidence !!! Brava !!👍👏👏❤️
Nice job girls. Thanks for sharing.
Awesome video, I love it. It has great pilots and an amazing plane. I enjoy listening to and watching these pilots. Awesome takeoff and landings that sounds amazing. I love the snowy terrain and landscape; it's beautiful. Greenland overall is beautiful; I don't think I could live there, but I would love to visit if I could.
Thanks very much Shannon! Def worth a visit. Beautiful country!
날씨도 추운데 고생이 많으십니다.
This is such a great download. Love the new A350-1000 but, this one is interesting in it's own way. These pilots flying skills , navigation and gut instincts are amazing. Get this one or the Air Iceland Dash-8 video if you like these kinds of videos. Get both, I did :)
Thank you very much Reno. Indeed we don't sell a lot of smaller airplane films however we find we have to do them anyway because we're able to fly to some areas in the world that are great and sometimes beautiful too. Thank you again!
@@justplanes I don't understand why more people don't buy these. I'm an outdoor person so maybe I like exploration part of the smaller airports ?

Fantastic video
JP......This was a fantastic flight loved it! Really nice views!
My compliments.....thanks JP! Happy Sunday....and yes.....
lovely snow greetings.....Betsy.
Thanks very much Betsy!

Thanks for flying Air Hoth today...
Greenland children must be so good at the spelling bee
@jack steve Icelandic?? Not true...The language is kalaallisut or greenlandic!
You are such a good pilot. I would fly with you any day!
so cool!
Excellent piloting, Anja!
That was Laila flying.
@@MrThuleanimal Sorry about that - she's is a great pilot!
I'm glad she's the captain.
very nice video
Thank you very much Alain!
Merci pour ce moment
Avec Plaisir David
Beautiful landings, very smooth control, perhaps due to the fine coordination required to fly helicopters as the captain has done for much of her career, very impressed!
Once - 15-20 years ago - I was to sail a boat to Nuuk from the fjord. Laila (the captain in this film) flew me up to it in a AS350 helicopter. Before she flew home again she slinged some crates from land to the boat.
I can testify that she is indeed extremely capable to fly those machines!
Magnifique !
Merci Pierre
Been to Greenland a few times! To Thule 👍❤
almost everywhere else, pilots looking for a light stripe in a dark field... in Greenland, pilots looking for a black stripe in a white field!
8:00 It's like they're landing on Hoth. What a view!
Just Planes I'm kind of new at watching these cockpit videos so please help me with something. What are those wheels that are painted black and white at the knees of the pilot and co-pilot. Thank you!!
I miss the Dash8. We had 8 of them at Eastern Metro in ATL.
in Greenland and Iceland the Dash-8 are THE plane for domestic routes.
Who's seen the magnificent Air Greenland A330 in the flesh? I saw it at Copenhagen and the flight looked totally full.
Is the old Volkswagen testing facility still there?
Hvor degligt at se sin familie love IT
Captain only landings and take offs? I saw that the captain did both the landings and take offs and the first officer just did most everything else are the landings and take offs rated for captains only? If not I would have thought they would have taken turns.
You are a really good pilot to fly in the weather that you fly in. How many landings and departures in any given day? By the way, I am a pilot (single engine -instrument rated w/ 3600 hours).
Most of the days are 6-8 legs per day
классно!)
Can’t wait ..but I will have to ..wish I was you 🙏
Home safe...great landing ..it’s a wondrous experience to fly ..you have actually have be conscious ...well done 🦄🎩
❤️
This Capt. is beautiful!
I am surprised that the elev.trim is manual.
Barren but beautiful scenery
both approach are captain only ??
They do 6-8 flights and sometimes one pilots will do 2, then the other pilot does 2...

Ты крут !!!

Folks at Just Planes. Guys you need to drop the White Balance on your Camera or use a Filter. Could make out very little landscape in those white out conditions beyond black dots.
There was nothing to see on that flight. Between the clouds and just snow... Below are 2 other videos from that film in which you can see some of the landscapes :

Is she a Greenlandic indigenous (inuit, eskimo)?
Come on! We are in the 21. century, not eskimo, but inuit!
@@carscloseup As you can see, I wrote 'inuit', although I added 'eskimo' afterwards.
💪🏽👍🏼👏🏾
Most part of the video is like a charcoal sketch on the white background...😉
Not a lot to see on that flight but on the videos below you can see more landscapes

Pretty much all I saw outside the window this video. White -> Runway -> White -> Runway LOL
I feel like to fly with them but I’m in USA 🇺🇸
: )
💕💕💕💕👍👍👍👍👏👏👏👏
It's like landing on another planet.
small captain but handles that plane like aboss
those planes are rare they are q200
2:07 yikes it kinda scared me

*Need to move the camera around more [takeoff]..its just white everywhere like I've never seen a book page*

V1…In a dash 8?
Absolutely! why not?
@@B737AviationPilot Well given its STOL characteristics isn’t it like calling V1 in your 172?
@@1486230
Not at all. C172 has single engine so if you have engine failure during takeoff roll you'll not be able to climb with no engine. Any aircraft that passed the test of takeoff and climb with single engine operation with airplane with more than 2 engines has V1 speed. V1 speed simply is the speed which (if you are at or higher than V1) you should continue the takeoff roll and lift off as well. If failure/abnormalities occurs before V1 you have the ability to slow down the airplane and goes to a full stop safely.
@@B737AviationPilot Very thorough explanation. Thanks
@@1486230 In short..any aircraft that requires a takeoff roll to generate lift has a V1 speed

Hello!
@@justplanes Hello there, since pilot is greenlandic, i've written on greenlandic.
Hi from Indonesia say hello
manual trim?? Even my Piper had electric trim
A Dash-8 in that cold climate? No thanks. However it is nice to see a good old fashioned analog flight deck. Not sure it’s the best way to go in that flying environment, but at least we know those pilots are real pilots and not computer programmers.
I was thinking that a turbo prop in that weather is not a good idea these days. Lol
@@Haywood-Jablomie most of the airports are 799 meters, so propeller aircraft are very suitable here in Greenland for maximize performance versus takeoff weight
@@LoStudio90 Oh I totally understand that, I personally don't like flying in that climate . I fly for Air Canada Rouge and I fly a Dash 8 Q 400 but I'm definitely not a fan of flying to the slightly northern areas in Canada whenever it's needed. It's a personal preference I guess. 🙂
The aircraft was designed and built in Canada and you say not in the cold? Seriously?
@@dalemartell8639 Have you ever flown in heavy icing conditions? It's not fun. I'm not worried about cold... That's not the issue. It doesn't matter how it was designed, I've been flying the dash 8 for nearly 6 years. As I said, it may just be a personal preference based on experience . I personally don't like flying in those environments , past experiences can make it very uncomfortable.
And people live there? Actually 508 people do and employment is centred on the airport and their 3 star hotel. How about that.
You are referring to Kangerlussuaq, our major airport hub due to its long runway. The runway is around 2800 meters. The runways in the cities are only 950 meters hence the use of the DASH-8. Air Greenland has a large A330 jet that services the route Kangerlussuaq-Copenhagen.
Nuuk, the capital city of Greenland (population 18.500) is a 45 minute flight south of Kangerlussuaq. To go to Europe (Copenhagen) we have to fly via Kangerlussuaq and the change to the larger aircraft.
Another option is Aur Iceland’s DASH-8 to Reykjavik and then catch an Iceland Air flight to Copenhagen. However, due to covid we are on a national lockdown. There are no regular commercial flights currently to and from Greenland. We do have mail and cargo service and the government decides if your reason to travel has merit. This lockdown will continue until the end of February, but probably longer.
@@julianneheindorf5757
Thank you Julianne.
I'm assuming that many of the hotel staff have been laid off as a result of travel restrictions. I admire anyone who can live on a daily basis in such extreme climatic conditions; it's a little too harsh for my old bones!
All the best for 2021.
real pilots, not the push button kind that put on the AP at 500ft........
it should be Whiteland lol
