Paul should've remained a serious fighter and contender in the Tekken lore. It was stated that he was able to beat Ogre in Tekken 3.
Yeah.
@S K Add Miguel to that list because he beat Jin in Tekken 7.
@@dricmeistr3977 we don't know in cannon

Hi, i've Paul video too here, would u like to check it out & give your opinion about it 🙂
czcams.com/video/mT2AgKxnzRA/video.html
Tekken Tag's ending was like a metaphor for the changing tide of Paul's character. He was a capable badass, but silly circumstances just kept pulling him away from the spotlight. His frustration is all too appropriate. And in Tekken 4, the Paul Phoenix we grew up with rode off into a new day, never to be seen again. He moved on, and I guess we should too.
@Stefano Pavone tekken tag 2 is great but tekken 7 is ASS pure donkey ASS
@Stefano Pavone as far as im concerned, tekken 4 was the conclusion to both Paul and Law's character arcs. From tekken 5 onwards everything they did was non canon random comic relief
@Stefano Pavone 😞 My brother loved Paul Phoenix on Tekken 4 miss watching him play Tekken really good on the PS2, I took my family legacy and learned every Tekken game 😎🤟🏻 but Tekken 4 is the game I spent time playing the most, the true Paul Phoenix will be missed! even though I'm a Jin/Kazuya main.
@@nou8704 I agree I play it and i miss the old graphics and gameplay
Yall can't be too mad they did the same too Heihachi
One punch knockout to KUMA.....Kazuya scared and ran 😅
I never thought of it like this! I always felt sad that this was somehow the beginning of the end for Paul, showing how little he was to Kazuya who plainly ignored him like all the producers now did by matching him with that bear... But now, I'll see it your way! (Imagining Kazuya running scared is very funny as well)
😂😂😂😂😂
Kazuya shitted his pants when Paul knocked Kuma in one punch.
Look at how they massacred my boy.
U mean sonny Corleone !?😂
Harada has ruined his own work.
it's even harder when he is your main from the first tekken
or even harder when he is your first main character in a fighting game
yeah i'm sad
@@nancestpasmoi1834 tekken 4 he was a washed up fighter but made him seem more bad ass he was trying to become champ again. Now he’s just the joke character alongside law.
lol
I don’t understand why they’ve made Paul into a comic relief character. He was Kazuyas rival in T1-T2. I guess Kazuya had better things to worry about than Paul. So they ended up making him a joke :/
Kohaku Hara I hope Paul becomes a badass again:(
paul is getting old
I hope Paul realises hes hanging with the wrong crowd, and actually mans up against the crowd.
I mean cmon he went from Kazuya's rival to beating on thugs in underground fighting clubs, to becoming a bouncer and beating on more people.
*_To THAT._*
Now...Eddy becoming Joke character in Tekken7 too.
Everybody is a joke character at one point except Kazuya and Jun (okay maybe some others that I can't think of right now...).
Tekken 4 ending was sick honestly
Sufjan Joey That was the last of REAL Paul.
+wiseguy240 Winston what do you mean
Carl Johnson He became a joke character after 4 like Dan from street fighter and all his story is about is being broke and entering the tournament particularly due to that unfortunately. He never gets his rematch with Kazuya either.
+wiseguy240 Winston I think in Tekken 5 he gets the rekatch with Kazuya correct me If I'm Wrong
Unfortunately no, in 5 he fights and beats Kuma but is exhausted from it and is unable to continue. in 6 him, law and steve devise a plan to win the reward money but that more than likely failed too based on his story in 7.
Paul has always been my fav Tekken character and always will be. He is just...adorable and innocent and pure hearted, very very hard to resist his personality.
I like Paul, but Kazuya is my favorite. He reminds me a lot of original Vegeta.
@@freddie-fucknmercury891 Good for you, I don't like Kazuya constantly struggling between good and bad side, but when he was good, I liked him. My fav are Paul (because he sorta reminds me of a child me, personality-wise of course, a liiiiiitle dumb aka too naive but a good loud person), Jun, Kazumi, and Hwoarang's teacher (forgot his name because he hasn't been on so much). And of course, Julia and Ganryu, like them both.
@@freedolphin3077 ya can't forget about Forest and Marshall, they're part of why Paul's entertaining.
1:33 kazuya knew better than to fight Paul, smart dude
And this was Tekken 3 Paul aka the one who canonically beat Ogre. Kazuya knew he wasn't ready even with devil form

The rise and downfall of Paul Phoenix
Sadly
Its true. he deserves sooo much better! Hey, Speaking of, I've made a Lore Video on Paul's True Potential as a Fighter that I think you might enjoy! I Also did one on Jun Kazama and the Williams Sisters, Anna and Nina. And I plan to do much more on other underappreciated Tekken Characters in the Future! You should swing by my channel sometime and check 'em out when you get a chance! I think it would be kinda incredible if I can get your thoughts on them!
You missed the ending where law and paul open Chinese restaurant
That was Tekken 5 Marshall laws ending
@@masterm537
That was Tekken 4. In Law's Tekken 5 ending, he ends up broke again after spending all the money on lawyers and knocks out Paul after Paul tried to charge Law for the motorcycle his son destroyed.
Laws ending
The Paul's Ability to unintentionally make enemies is beyond outstanding.
It's very sad that Paul Phoenix became a jobber for Tekken
You are absolutely right! Because in the first 3 Tekkens, the man was a beast! Paul phoenix should have literally been the chuck Norris of the Tekken universe
He was TEKKEN bro . I miss the badass hard working and even harder hitting Paul Phoenix
Paul, litteraly one the strongest tekken characters in lore, gets treated as a jokey side character
All of his endings in the first 3 games are actually canon:
Tekken 1 - He trained hard after the tie with Kazuya. It's the reason why he's smashing the wall with a Kazuya portrait
Tekken 2 - On his way on a Kazuya rematch only to get stuck on traffic because of a falling border. He lost by default because he didn't make it in time.
Tekken 3 - He was actually the best fighter in the tournament. Only to lose by default again because he didn't finished Ogre and left too early to celebrate his premature victory.

But it was not meant to be, because of that goddamn bear.
Remember when Paul was the main hero?
Bradley no....it never was.....
구독누르면 프사 니 대딸쳐줌
Well. He was. Since he defeated Ogre and could take down Jin.
Heihachi was the bad guy
Jin was the anti hero
And before Kazuya he was the hero.
What? Paul never fought ogre. Conon wise Jin fought ogre then true ogre and killed him. So Jin was the hero
@God-king Yamcha the story also says Paul was undefeated during the tournament. But Jin was undefeated during the tekken 3. Lets just say the Canon storyline is inconsistent af
@@sigmundharris617 no it isnt. Its very simple. Paul goes undefeated trough Tekken 3 then defeats ANCIENT ogre and calls it a day. But after that he doesnt come back and Heihachi decides to "restart" the tournament and then jin defeats everyone

" Not His Style " 😊
2:25 This is how Pauls story in Tekken ends for me. He proved himself as one of the true champions of Tekken and drove off into the sunset, being the badass true Paul we all know and love. All endings afterwards are non existent, fever dreams from Namco smoking serious shit and not knowing what to do with half the roster, Paul included lmao
Namco you need to get your shit together. We do not like seeing our favorite characters be utterly massacred into obnoxious, walking jokes. Also does anyone think Bryan and Paul would be a much better rivalry than Paul and fucking Kuma? Jesus Namco lmao
Same for me. I mean Paul always had a slight goofy side to him but for the most part he was a serious and determined fighter who just wanted to prove how far he had come in his training by defeating the King of Iron Fist (Kazuya). I know that he had a slight fascination with aliens because if you were in practice mode in Tekken 2, his thought bubble would be a flying saucer but I always took it as more of a slight curiosity, not a full on obsession like what was presented in Tekken 5. I agree that Tekken 4 was the last of real Paul we ever had. What came after was just a fever dream but then again a lot of characters were ruined in Tekken 5. It's a shame too because at least for Paul, Tekken 5 could've seen a more matured Paul who had just found his way back into fighting after his break he had in Tekken 4.
And I agree with you that Paul and Bryan would've been a much better rivalry. Why did it have to be Kuma? A bear of all things. I mean fine okay, I'd give it a pass one time just for a joke but they really overdid it after.
This ending is non-canon though since Paul never won the Tournament. Even though it's his best ending. But this ending only happens because Paul becomes rich and starts non-stop partying and boozing and loses sight of who he is.
@@HolySok And Seeing A Poster Of Him Showed Who He Truly Is
It's like at that moment that the real Paul was gone forever

Great work of Kevin Spacey as the Cop in Tekken,3!!!!!! 😂
Why they had to do paul and law like that 😿
RIP Paul Phoenix. I don't know what this goofy version is now
Have Paul having to delay True Devil Kazuya in Tekken 8 until Jin arrives. It would awesome to see him fight his old rival but being utterly outmatched and just keep getting up.
yes!!!! make that happen in Tekken 8!!!
This would be the best way to redeem Paul. Have him finally have his long awaited rematch with Kazuya. He can lose so long as he looks strong in defeat or Kazuya snaps and nearly kills him with his Devil powers before Jin, Law or Lee make a last minute save.
1:09 Kevin spacy
He is unironically one of the strongest people in the verse and they did him dirty
When Paul looked at his reflection and then his portrait in 2:04 and remembered his glory days in fighting in the King of Iron Fist Tournament..
i felt that.
Tekken 1 and 2 got some strong Bowling Alley Strike vibes
That’s 90’s cgi for you.
I really miss the old Paul
Still had some goofiness to him, but still had a side of badassery and power rivaling that to the Mishimas
Hell, in 2, Paul defeated Heihachi and in 3, fucking Ogre
Tekken 3 Paul was the Most badass
Thanks for this video! 💪
Paul is a cool character & really hilarious too 😂
He WON the King of Iron Fist Tournament 3! Not his fault Ogre became True Ogre after he left!
Paul Phoenix is easily one of the strongest Human fighters ever, Jin, Kazuya and Akuma are cheaters with there devil/demon powers
@@equanimity92 don't forget Hwoarang, he canonlly beat Jin in tekken 5 but Jin in his devil form beat him... and it was in his normal form he beat Jinpachi
who said kazuya needs to not cheat and play fair, for ego ass Paul, Itachi??? Kazuya is going to laser Paul into the air, if he see’s Paul in Tekken 8, cheating doesn’t matter in Tekken.
Anyone here from Fighters Den? I had fun hearing him narrate- “They butchered yer boy” this and that. Paul Phoenix is still my favorite character though, he rocks both being cool and funny.
One of my all time favorite tekken characters
He's ruined in the latest versions of game, but he was a real monster back then
I hadn't realized how big his earaser head was until Tekken 2.
One punch man of TEKKEN
Hey Tekken 7 public Paul is better then panda

I like the anime's version of Paul he might not be serious but he isn't a goofball
0:47 he looks like benimaru in "the king of fighters"
ANYONE NOTICES???
Yeah buddy I noticed that especially in tekken 2
Your only the person who didn't say this jojo reference. Good job for remembering Benimaru.
Can't believe this is the same man who defeated Ancient Ogre and even fought Kazuya to a draw.
4:15 when you’re told you failed in your exams 🤣
Tekken 7 endings are all fun and shit but they're all so short and nonsense. I was lookin' for some dope endings & stories and was so dissapointed.. I love Tekken for its Comedy and Humor but imo the endings in Tekken 7 were mostly just annoying, PS: Love Paul and he def deserved better.
The only serious endings were Steve/Nina, Xiaoyu/Claudio, and Miguel
Many characters need to be more involved in the main story. Mostly those who already had ties somehow.
Tekken 7 was and is a heap of shit!!! Worst in the series
I’m so fond of Paul.
Tekken 8 Paul Vs Kazuya (in Canon Battle)
will Paul finally defeat his rival Kazuya in the end? (only if he doesn't turning him to a comic relief again!)
But Jin wants to kill Kazuya already-
@@BibiMiku i know that already but the Rivalry between Paul and Kazuya hasn't finished just yet.

Bahut acchi video hai please aisi video aur Se Bhi Jyada bheje
Am I seeing thor in tekken 4 ending?
My favorite and best character ❤️😍
The only way I can see them rescuing Paul from this comedic shtick, is if in the next Tekken game, Paul could become bitter over the lack of appreciation he has gotten in the last few tournaments, and how he could demand respect (basically, no more Mr. Nice guy). He could fight Kazuya in a way to regain his honour.
(Idk. What do you think?)
4:10
rider punch vs rider kick
I hope they do Paul vs Kazuya in Tekken 8 as similar to Jin Hwoarang in Tekken 5. Defeating them in their base form, but almost beaten to a pulp after the devil transformation.
Paul is fan favorite for many of us so the frustration is understandable. But it's painfully obvious that according to Namco, either you're a Mishima or you're nobody.
Lifted the right fist up and said "gotcha!!!"
My favorite in tekken tag 2... Forest law
Paul have a serious poblem hith bears
When i was little me and my brother always called Paul "Dustbin Guy" Lol
that quick straight all the way punch is a ace card technique.. 😂 ✌️
Paul should start a Cobra Kai-esque dojo. Woule be nice to see characters like him take on a mentor role cause he's no longer young

Paul :- The most popular tekken player till tekken 4.
Also paul :- Jobber with panda since tekken 5.
My third favorite fighter in Tekken
Paul is so awesome
4:13 Johnny Cage moment
Paul got fucking assassinated character wise. It's not even that he was 'serious', he was Kazuya's oafish rival who in spite of every single flaw he had, was his equal, that was a fine dynamic, one they gave Hwoarang and have kept with his ass for his entire run from T3 till T8.
The fact that they went from T4 Paul where he's fallen from grace due to unforseen circumstances and his own arrogance and finding his roots in his ending to a literal joke in T5 is really disingenuous, I think the whiplash of seeing him at his most serious to him at arguably his most goofy in the very next game is why so many people are sore from how they've dealt with him as a mainstay character.
1:57 Maximillian dood is that you!?!?
One of the best people you could ever use..I used to use J.C. and him in Tekken Tag 2.
0:20 “Dumbass Kazuya” picture lol
In my opinion Paul and Law shouldn't betrayed because Kazuya and Heihachi had other and better rivaly in Tekken games like Yoshimitsu and Jin,but to make storylines show them as great rivals in battle phase and best friends outside and in Tekken 5 (My only Tekken I played) Paul should had end like champion and Law save son's life and his life goes from bad to good
Sean Cw Johnson As Paul phoenix for my options for Tekken movie .
man I really wanna know what people thought made Paul so cool before Tekken 4 because to me who skipped that game very little actually changed

I used to beat all tekken 3 pros with Paul back in the day. His character is a joke now when it was so dominant earlier.

Why does Paul look like a mix of Trevor and Kenway?
Any time! Any place! Bring it on, ya aliens!
Also why did they give him the same voice as Tina’s dad from DOA 2
Funny that CGI characters in today's animation look and move the same way as old PSX1 characters did 25 years ago.
more like the regression of paul......in general the decline of tekken started with 4 imo....although 5 was fun and tag 2 was ok but it changed never fully regained that it factor for me anyway.
Paul is my most favorite character. He the best.
Paul... Swagger style.. Just ultimate mann
