They should have stayed as Anaheim. There's no shame in repping Anaheim. Both Anaheim and LA are cool cities. That said,the name change happened because all the other owners were cool with it. Nothing happens in MLB without all of- or the majority of - owners approving it

Honestly the Anaheim Angels sounds the best it rolls off the tongue easy
I live in So. CA. For 30 years, all through these changes. Everyone simply referred to them as the Angels.
The Anaheim Angels of Orange County
The California Angels is it. Like with the Golden State Warriors, it does not matter where they play in the bay.
I still refer to them as the Anaheim Angels.
They will always be the California Angels for me
Their owner took Anaheim out of the name due to his ongoing and very complicated feud with the city.
