So I took a trip down to Spencer County to record this beat up Model 5T. It's located in Gentryville, a small town that I always assumed didn't have a siren. I mean, Santa Claus, the county's largest town, doesn't even have a siren...and they're a tourist destination.
When this siren wound up, I was pleasantly surprised. Not only did it work, but it did attack and for a much longer time than what the sirens normally test in the county. It really gave me some vibes from the old Model 5BT in Haysville. That was an amazing sounding siren, and this does as well even if it's a little beat up.
Most sirens in Spencer County are tested by central dispatch every Tuesday at 6PM Central. If you're in the Carter Township, siren tests are conducted every first Sunday at Noon by the local FD.
Enjoy, and as always comment, like, and subscribe for more. Thanks!

LOVE the attack tone mixed with the person on the radio. camera angles are amazing. this is why i’m a siren enthusiast, thanks for making such cool videos
No problem!
@@DSRX100 if u can do an alert tone
Love me a good ol' 5T! Our county Civil Defense network was all 5Ts back in the day, sadly most are gone now. The attack is definitely a treat on this one though!
Ayee, you're back again!
I love these old sirens!
Love that wind down! Slower the better!
this is your best video yet
Creepy, more like an SD-10! Actually kinda soothing
Looks Like Aca Allertor!
They use the same chopper assembly so yeah, they're identical
HOLY CRAP! Talk about a LOW MOUNTED Model 5T!
Ikr
Sounds and looks amazing! You can see where it was originally CD yellow where the paint is chipping.
I believe that's the sunlight.
Look at 0:47 near the screen, you can see the red chipping, and what looks to be some yellow.
@@MiddleTNSirens Yeah it was CD yellow at one point, you can see it in Street View.
@@MiddleTNSirens Oh yeah!
Your back agen!!!!
Again
Good!
Dang Nice video! that 5 sure is low mounted

@TBB747 there isn’t a siren in his picture it’s the windows logo
What is the difference between a Model 5 and a Model 7? And how do I tell if it is a 5 or 7?
This channel need a like
I agree
I love this video, it sounds like the one in Distant PA fire hall. Can you go to New Bethlehem PA to hear there 2t22? The one in Distant PA they unhooked it. When you are there at the first traffic light, look to your left they have a model 5t. They test on Saturday and it go's off at 12:02pm. They use attack for the test.
Beautiful!
Mounted pretty low but if it works there’s no need to change it
what camera do you use i am just curious
great video! good work. how do you pick up the activation tones? pager?
I'm using a scanner...particularly the Uniden BC75XLT.
Dayum that camera rig tho
Is it on wail
Do you know were a tornado siren junk yard is
Wow very nice video Brandon! Is it used just for fire calls or even for tornadoes?
I'd say this is used for both.
I think tornadoes mostly, but I wouldn't be surprised if this is also used for fires.
Oh thank you so much :)
Hey Brandon, you should come down here to McKinney Texas and record one of the Whelen WPS-4008s doing Best Possible Protection Tone! It is really cool to hear in person!
If I'm ever around, I'll keep that in mind.
DSRX100 you gotta film an Oklahoma siren with this quality! We have some intresting stuff, I’m sure my friend “Valra Bellkeys” on youtube will know more than me
@@DSRX100 Alright sounds good!

When is Tennessee siren map coming out
Good question...haha, hopefully soon. I've been procrastinating on it for too long.
It's okay I'm not mad
I was just wondering
Imagine if the Los Angeles system was still connected...
0:06 what microphone is that on top of your camera?
It's a Sony ECM-XYST1M
Sounds like the allertor
Aha!
Same 9/12 port ratio. There’s a bunch of the same sounding ones like; Allertor, SD-10, Model 5T/7T series, ACA p10 and p15, ACA screamer. There’s probably a couple more I can’t remember.

Banshee, FS 500, Darley Model 5 & 7T's
@@BoltDaFloofy I mentioned the 7T
That Model 5BT almost sound like Allertor.
Sounds almost like an Allertor or SD10
Woah!! This test is weekly??!
Technically yes, but practically it might only sound once or twice a month. Sometimes dispatch forgets, sometimes this siren is manually shut off, sometimes the radio doesn't catch the tones. It's very unpredictable.
@@DSRX100 Huh. Cool!
Isn't that a Model 7 housing?
How many mics are you using?
Four if you include the external mic on my camera

Didn't Santa Claus have a Model 5 at some point, or am I losing my mind?
Not to my knowledge. Since the 80s they've been trying to get a system. They almost went with a FedSig dealer at one point.
Could use some new paint, anyways, nice!
I agree.
Yeah I did when I started playing this video I just disliked it then when I heard the Seirin I liked it and saved it
