- Today's project is something long overdue. Mister Nathan is a classic car fan, with the Lark being his favorite, so I take my favorite classic nerf blaster and give it a classic car inspired paintjob for a Secret Santa present.

I am absolutely tickled to death with that little blaster, thank you so much! I am actually amazed at how closely you were able to match the paint colors, having only reference pictures, and mixing by hand. It looks right at home, hanging next to the Lark Talonclaw and Lynx.
I'm sorry the project caused you so much stress (I understand, I'm still trying to finish my secret Santa project, too), but know that the motivation behind the style choice hits me right in the heart. Building YOUR favorite blaster in a style to match MY favorite car, just ticks all those emotional boxes for me. Thanks again, so much, for the amount of thought and care you put into it.
I'm so happy that you enjoyed it, and that the choice to go with a sentimental blaster over something performance based hits home for you!
I have an entire shelf of projects that I started years ago, there must be at least 20 up there.
I think a lot of us can probably relate to that lol
Story time. At my second End War, (the one we met in the parking lot LoL) Mr Nathan was stalking my booth. I was talking to some kids about something and out of the corner of my eye all I could see him was inspecting my blasters. In particular the Sledgefire thing. He just kept LOOKING at it! Needless to say I'm freaking out, because Mr Nathan is picking apart the blaster that I made (in my head). After the kids leave he tells me he really likes it, and his Mr Nathan voice. The point is, he may be Mr Nathan but he's our Bob Ross LoL....And that two-tone paint job really compliments that body shape. Love it.
Praise on a blaster from Mister Nathan is high praise for sure, he really is a great influence in our hobby as well
@@Jangular I kind of lost my own point LoL. I'm sure Hill dig it, and like you say (and me for the record) work at your own skill lvl. Do YOUR best work, not somebody else's.
God, that bit about not finishing projects and then getting more and more embarrassed, that felt like a call out. You're not alone in that trust me, and it's inspiring that you managed to finish the project
Lol, took longer than intended, but got there :p
Jang that intro describes every day of my life. Especially your fabucannon if we're being honest.
At least I'm not alone haha, and still love that blaster
Awesome! Yeah, this Blaster looks rad and it's shape is similar to a 50s retro futuristic vibe! I feel it'd look incredible styled up like the old flamboyant 50s era cars! Super cool job! 😁👍🏻
Jangular, you are too hard on yourself. The blaster looks fantastic, it really gives off the classic car vibe.
Thank you, glad the end results works!
watching your videos with my kids and they want you to know they think this looks awesome! I happen to agree :)
Well thank you all around!
That looks amazing! The paint job and blaster match the classic car look nicely.
Thank you, I'm glad it looks fiiting!
Brush painting a blaster with citadel paints isn’t easy. A lot of surface area. A good warhammer paint job should mean you can’t see brushstrokes. That it doesn’t look painted. 👍🏻
Definitely a lot of area to cover, thankfully this wasn't my first time using mini paints to paint a blaster haha, and thanks :)
With secret shots, I've gotten them past 80fps because if you make a spacer from the peg to brass, then cut down the peg, you can run the airflow around instead of inside the dart. It also increases performance with the original darts, since they have the same outer diameter
That's awesome, thanks for the info!
Awesome looking blaster, and a great story to go with it. Great video!
Thank you, I'm glad it came out well!
Jang
What a fantastic looking blaster. I wish I had the talent to execute a paint job like this. Keep up the great work.
Thank you, there's no talent involved though, only time, so you could totally do it!
I don't have just one unfinished barrel break mod but 2 unfinished barrel break mods. one is going to be a direct plunger and the other is select fire or at least they will be.
Sounds like 2 fun projects to work on though!
I like the white board in the back!
Just facts
@@Jangular yep
Well that’s just gorgeous
Well thank you :)
Yes!! I'm starting to go back and get them done. I've found having a main project blaster then one small/side project helps me when I get board, frustrated or need a break/change of pace. I'm using projects I started and never finished as my side projects 😉....... Also when I saw the title I thought "I didn't know Jay was into classic cars, I thought that was Mr Nathan" LoL makes sense now 😊 Paint job is sick bt-dubs. I get impaicent will the spray paints, I don't know how you can deal with hand painting 😂
I love that idea of having a main project and a side project to keep things fresh! And thank you, glad you like the paintjob :) hand painting may take longer in some ways, but you also generally aren't masking, so you're saving some steps that way lol
@@Jangular I've done it on and off since I got to properly modding, then you started your weekly mod series and that's when I thought 'this is kinda a thing'. I should mention it on one of those videos as well really. Might help some people, feel free to mention it if you want to 🙂
secret shot became a split shot :D
Looks great!
Thank you!
Sanding is the worst. I agree. So much time sanding
But sadly super valuable to do, so we continue lol
Hey...you didn’t slide in view sitting in the chair. What’s up with that? 😁
Lol, gotta mix it up sometimes :p
@@Jangular
Nice, I like that! 👍
Lol, I read the caption wrong. I was thinking you were painting a classic car with Nerf inspired designs...damn mild dyslexia.
Lol, I was debating a different wording as well to avoid things like that, my bad!
@@Jangular
It got me to subscribe.🤷♂️
sanding is horrible
And sadly so essential :(
