  • In this episode of Agree To Disagree, Ex-Liverpool player Steve McManaman goes head to head with Man City's Joleon Lescott.
    With the deciding Premier League fixtures coming up this weekend it was sure to be a good debate. The boys debated whether Salah was the best player in the league, whether Man City need to win the Champions League to be considered a big club and then they had a bit of fun laughing at Man United's current situation.

      I honestly don't even know why there is a debate! Liverpool are a huge football club! Manchester City are a small plastic club that have had almost unlimited oil money thrown at them! Without that it's extremely likely that best case scenario City would be a team in a relegation battle in the Premier league.! More likely though, that they would be playing in the Championship!

For starters they drew 13 league games, and when you look at the teams they drew against you definitely would class that as an achievement. They would have been beaten by Portsmouth had Pires not dived in the last few minutes to win a penalty. They also got beaten in the FA Cup, League Cup and got knocked out by Chelsea in the Champions League. Purely based on the league they got nowhere near the points total City and Liverpool have gotten the past few season. Irrespective of whether Liverpool win the quadruple or even the treble, they are a far better side than that Arsenal side already! @RolandDeschain in ur logic this Liverpool team isn’t the same team as last year due to the addition of Diaz n konate..while city is almost the same team apart from grealish n they r going to defend their tittle AGAIN..this Liverpool is being overhyped way too much..2 cups n haven’t scored in any of the matches..pens is 50/50

      @@musbaarKTBFFH that's not true. If you are going to discount the previous 18 league titles to a name change then you have to make the most recent name change the benchmark. Neither Salah or KDB deserve POTY. They've both had great halves of a season. But if we're talking about being consistently top player ALL season, it has be Son or Mane. Disgraceful that Mane (and Ronaldo) didn't get a look in at all.

      @RolandDeschainthey both had the odd periods of 2-3 games where they didn't do much but other than those, consistently been scoring assisting throughout. No one can literally be good 38 games in a row. Whereas KDB (due to injury and form) was missing the first half of the season. Hence why everyone was lauding Silva for carrying them in that time. And Salah post AFCON (be it due to physical or mental tiredness or even both) has been bang average at best.

      @@edtcreative Tbh all these players have had hot and cold spells all season. But I'd argue that Salah's hot spell tops anyone else's, and even in his 'cold spell' he's still played better than Mane or Ronaldo did for a couple months here or there

    • @edtcreative
      @edtcreative Před 2 lety

      @RolandDeschain I rate Salah and KDB but the reality is both being 5/6 out of 10 for half a season and 9/10 out of 10 for the other, doesn't equal POTY to me. Rather have players who've been 7/8 out of 10 for the majority of the season, in this conversation, personally.

    • @edtcreative
      @edtcreative Před 2 lety

      @RolandDeschain minus a few games around when Nuno was gonna get the sack, Son's basically been their best player. Pretty much scored/assisted in every game except those few I mentioned. Always working the hardest and probs the only player that didn't need Conte to come in to boost his performances.

    City cant fill their ground, or sell tickets to wembley against liverpool. They also cant win in europe, it seems a lot of the opinions arent based on actual achievements but how beautifully the team plays, but city have proven many many times having the most skilled and attacking team isnt all success is about. Liverpool have the chance to win the quad, something thats never ever been achieved, city have never ever won in europe, when you look at all these facts, citys a small club, and liverpool/klopps achievements way out weigh anything city or pep have done. Just going on money spent/trophys won and fanbase/business model etc. Streets apart, Liverpool managed to go 30 years without winning the league and still filled grounds home and away, city cant fill it in a season like this, or last season, leeds or newcastle are bigger clubs
