    Great thorough video. No HDMI/cable/Ethernet through the wall? The electrician did the magic of getting the power outlet installed behind the chimney.

    Thank you for being specific and for showing each step - the tools, parts and entire process. Great teaching. I'm ready to install my own . . . although I have no plug and am not sure how to hide the wires without calling an electrician (which I don't want to do!). Any suggestions? My fireplace is true masonry with no voids to run wires behind.

    Excellent video
    José. I've installed 5 or 6 TV's during my time in the field and I definitely learned a few key tips in this video that I will take along with me on future projects. Appreciate you taking the time to make this, great content, can't wait to see more types of these videos.

      Soo what happens if they use the chimney for the fireplace? Will the hols affect any chimney performance?

    Great simple video to follow, only comment is on the cleaning, I would have cleaned all brick and mantel before and after install.

    Nice job...suggest you could have moved up or down to avoid drilling mounting holes so close to the edge of the bricks. Up or down and you could have drilled right in the middle or close to it.

    Nobody bothered to vacuum up the brick dust off the wall?? Just hang the tv over it???

    You still could have adjusted the top to bottom height with the brackets attached to the back of the tv. There was plenty of space to offset for the power outlet.

    awesome video, given the amount of work, time and tools required, how much would you charge average for it?

    How do you get the outlet on the fireplace? My brick fireplace doesn't have an outlet.

    Love the video. But why drill hole so close to the edge of a brick causing chipping?

    • @motosurge
      @motosurge Před 2 lety

      Because that's the strongest part of the brick.

    You didn’t show how you the electrical outlet got up and hide the wires

    Installation process is top notch but the tv position is wayyyyyy to high. My neck hurts just to look at it. Also tv size is very small for the fireplace size but thats me.

    All anyone have ever told me is NEVER drill into the brick. Always the mortar around. I’m nervous as hell to drill into the brick.

    • @Austin-yb7ec
      @Austin-yb7ec Před 2 lety

      I believe from another video I watched on this it’s because it’s wayyy easier to patch mortar than the brick and that’s why I’ve seen more ppl drilling into the mortar but I think brick might be stronger. I have no idea tho I came here because I’m mounting today lol

      Brick is solid long as anchors are solid. Prefer steel

    Slightly annoying because I watched specifically to see how I should hide the cables in my brick chimney breast, and it doesn’t cover that. By which I mean, AV/aerial cables as well as power and network.

    You really need a mask to do this video? LMAO 🥴🥴🥴

    • @thisisreallyme3130
      @thisisreallyme3130 Před 9 měsíci

      A mask protects against mesothelioma. Bricks and mortar up until the 1980's would contain asbestos (although any fibrous-mineral can cause the disease).

  • @sculdron7252
    @sculdron7252 Před 2 lety +1

    I don't think you can actually put a TV over top of a real fireplace, the heat will actually damage the electronics overtime.

    • @MarkHarmer
      @MarkHarmer Před rokem

      Put a shelf underneath the tv as it deflects the rising hot air past the tv. We did this - checked with the fire going and using various trial shelves and a thermal camera. Doesn’t need to stick out far. Once we found the right depth and width of shelf, we ordered one of those from Amazon and installed it using it’s invisible mountings. Put the tv not too far above the shelf. This helps to make sure the hot air goes past the TV, and also you don’t want the TV too high because it’s uncomfortable to watch from the sofa. It’s an expensive OLED tv and it’s fine.
