- Hey Gang! We're excited for this one, we're finally tackling this fireplace! It's time to upgrade this red brick fireplace eyesore into a modern, stunning centerpiece in this home. Putting ledger stone on an existing fireplace or even a custom centerpiece is fairly easy, and it's a great project you can tackle over the weekend that will change the look of the space for the better.
We had some unique challenges on this one with our vaulted ceiling and our custom hearth. Let us know some of the unique things you've had to tackle while laying similar stone. Thanks for all the support gang, thanks for watching, and we'll see ya on the next one!

The only thing you guys forgot was the finished product! We need to see it all together in one single shot
I know 😔 Video almost got delayed another day due to the fact that I didn’t get any shots of it finished. Totally my bad
Absolutely, im into seein the work not guys, I don’t do guys.
24:30 shows the whole thing, just watch the whole video dude.
Yeah, kinda notice that too. I kept waiting for them to pan back for the full view, but....
Beautiful!.Job well done
That must be so cool to work with your boy and Teach him work ethic and a trade... Father's Dream!!
Wonderful job. At the end of the video, it would be nice to see a completed project showcase set of views from multiple angles including a wide-angle shot that shows as much of the work as possible.
Congrats on hitting 100k subscribers, guys !
Thx for the support JL 👍
Well deserved 100k mark! I'd guess Stud Pack has a really good average view duration.
Congrats guys on 100k. You’re truly one of kind. So much knowledge shared!
I like red brick. To each his own.
PBS has This Old House. Another network needs to pick you guys up. Fantastic work.
They could probably make a lot more on CZcams than on public television.
Love some Sunday morning stud pack!!!
👊💪
Always look forward to your videos. By far my favorite thing to watch period.
Much appreciated Cory 👊
Congratulations Paul and Jordan on 100K subscribers. All your hard work is much appreciated. Thanks.
You are on someone channel, watching a valuable and informative/educative video for free. Yet people have so much to complain about.
Thank you for sharing
Your son's are so lucky to have a DYI dad, major props to you sir for showing them all rhat you know. They will have the knowledge now to pass on to their children as well.
Man you guys are awesome. I love how you show the hard parts not just the easy stuff. Keep'em coming. Great work!!!!!
That's KILLER!!
Gorgeous! Stupendous! Glorious! What skill! And the bonus? A father and son thriving together. What a blessing.
I have done a few dozen of those for customers so far. Your techniques are perfect and well explained.
I would just add to not let the customer select the stones are the quality varies greatly and the bad ones are such a nightmare that you should decline to install them.
Also price yourself to include grouting touch up for gaps. Trust me, you will need some grout here and there. You will also need to air clean the whole wall with air from a compressor to really clean it (you will be amazed how much stone dust will come out). Then brush some stone sealer over the whole thing. These last three steps (grout, air, sealer) will make the wall look like a million dollar job.
Man you guys are an amazing team the commentary is always energetic great video editing and your craftsmanship is incredible
I agree 100% with the "no casement look" at the top. And you know... the reason many would have to because they're lack of workmanship would have forced them to due to a un-necessary gap. Another great video, guys.
Much appreciated 👊
... "eat his milk" ... ??? Lol. Loved the video. It helped me diy my project: Tx Hill Country White Rock fireplace with built-in bookshelves (maple).
I would have NEVER thought to lay some stone over the existing fireplace brick. What a relief!! No demo, no installing heat tolerant cement board....awesome!! And I was "today old" when I learned about Kerdi!
Cool thx 👊
That last bottom row angle cut to go around that corner looks 100% CERTIFIED BALLER. Amazing work guys
I like how you explain everything, the good and the bad. I learn so much from every video.
You guys are awesome together. Your youngest would be well advised to tag along on the regular, he would find that these skills will never not be marketable. Carry on dudes!
the guy I hired to do my brick siding was garbage. Need more contractors like you with the attention to detail and the pride in the work.
Now I have to hire someone to redo it....
100K BOYS!!!!! WOW! WAY TO GO!!!
Whiskey bay mention! If you’ve ever driven to NOLA coming from Houston you know Whiskey bay…..if you’ve got tools in Whiskey bay….they gone! Great usage of existing fireplace.
Thx TJ 👊
Just beautiful
LOVE your Videos. My Fav part is the attention to the KEY Details that can help solidify the project as a success. You are a great teacher.....
Knowledgeable and experienced advice with a relatable delivery. Happy I found this channel.
Clearly one of the best. Very easy to follow.
Corner stone around firebox is a MUST for cosmetic purposes, and you didn't grout under the hearth piece,8 /10
Keep it up...
The brick look with a German war is very popular right now brick is beautiful it just needs some love some new mortar !! That would of looked so cozy and beautiful 😍
God job! So much attention on the details. Home owners love it! You know your getting a quality job done right!
Wow!!!! I am in shock. GORGEOUS!
Working from the bottom up seems to be the easiest and most effective method
Wanting to do this to my own brick fire place thanks guys. Super confident now. Was hoping for a good before and after shot to show my wife haha. Looks great!!
I actually came to this video because I thought it was about mortar-washing brick. Lol! But I stayed to watch the fine craftsmanship you did on this fireplace. I'm so impressed with the work along the ceiling! That's the work of a master. Beautiful work that you make look so easy. Well done!

My aunt used to have a white brick fireplace that I always thought was really beautiful.
I love their Sedona stacked stone. Very pretty.

congrats on hitting the 100k mark.
I can’t smash that like button unless I see a finished product. Who makes a video without a finished shot?

Great video to show my clients what I want to have done to their fireplaces!

I'm a newbie so this was awesome. Looking forward to checking out more of your videos.
Beautiful
Kickstands.....brilliant.
This fire place in this video is legit the exact fire place in my home right now. Built in 1983 too. Thanks for the videos, definitely helping me out with the projects I’m working on in my home.
Looks just like mine too. Built in 1986. Even the mantle and the angled vaulted ceiling is the same.
Love your vids - great job, enthusiasm, knowledge and explain well
Great video, I feel much more confident installing my flooring.
I ❤️ the stone and granite combo. Paul, you have a great mind for problem solving-must be the years in the business. Jordan, I wish you had shown us a wide shot of the finished fireplace. I kept waiting for it 😕. Otherwise, the framing was spot on. 🎯
I agree…wide shot
1:03 Santa truly is built differently. He drinks his cookies and eats his milk . What a legend

Great Job guys! KEEP UP THE GIOD WORK!!
Thx Miles 👊
Looks fabulous! 👍
So awesome! Thanks for this video!
So, a couple things. I just floored my entire house with MSI Montauk Blue slate tile (12”x24”) . I love it-there’s nothing like authentic stone in the home. My kitchen countertops are nearly (if not actually) identical to that hearth you had cut and then installed. I’ve been needing to research to see if that was a feasible material for that, and I think I’ve found my answer.
As a designer, I will always recommend straying from the trendy [whites/greys/gold hardware (at the time of this writing)] and thoughtfully consider upgrades and facelifts that reflect the overall style of the home. I DO think your choices here (entire project thus far) are perfectly acceptable and carry a great aesthetic. Keep up the great work and the quality content/production value.
Congrats on reaching 100K! Awesome! Another well done video, love the look!
Super sick fireplace. Great work guys!!! Love another great vid...
