Researched and found this video to be the best explanation on hanging a mount into a chimney. Thank you for providing the name of the supplies used as well.

I've heard stories about TVs above wood-burning fireplaces having issues. The fireplaces generate a ton of heat. Check wall temperature when the fire is going to determine if it's safe for the TV to even operate up there.

Hey Zach, thanks so much for all of the Dreamedia videos!! Great work! Can you provide a guide either in a video, or as a reply here in the comments, when mounting into masonary, what size Tapcon screw to use per TV size? For example, for a 40” TV, for a 55” TV, for a 65” TV etc. that would be very helpful to many I’m sure. There are tons of videos on CZcams that show how to drill & mount into brick, and they all mention the use of Tapcon screws. However, not one ever mentions how to determine the proper size Tapcon to select based on TV size. Once again, thanks for the great content. Always very useful!

    Does the chimney work?
I will be moving soon to a place where I will have a chimney like that one and it will be my first time, so I don't know if I can use the chimney while having a tv installed above it

How did you decide to run the cables? I’m in this exact same situation and I’m trying to hide my wires. But I have a old fireplace that doesn’t work anymore.

he has wire outlet just on top of ceiling where you see that little blank outlet on top of the ceiling , or he can hire an electrician to run a wire through the chimney on back side from exterior wall or though the wall , he might have to get an electrical insert fire place and wood is no longer any use bc of the wires might melt or burn.

"Hire a handyman, we're not going to do that ...." (not removing the trim) lol. C'mon man. You half hooked up the TV. It's hooked up and now you have a 10' extension cord over the fireplace.
