In the video I referred to ALPHA Lipoic acid. It's very effective at activating AMPK and reducing blood sugar. R-lipoic - better for NRF-2 but is much more expensive.

Alpha lipoic acid and "R-lipoic acid" is the same acid. Alpha lipoic acid as synthesized contains 2 isoforms, 50%/50% - S and R-enantiomer kind molecules. R-Alpha lipoic acid has a much better bioavailability than S (because it is the kind that occurs in nature), but it has to be separated from S, and stabilized, usually with Na.

I'm sorry to hear about your wife. I had a stroke (left side paralyzed) 3 years ago and went through rehab (yuck-a lot of work!). I started doing longevity and brain health research after it. IMO, it's necessary to continue exercising at home as much as possible (walks with walker, etc.) Also, even though I made a "full recovery", I still had a slight mental deficiency that wouldn't be apparent to someone except me. In my work, I'm involved in quick technical thinking, usually within a team environment. In this scenario, I was always running one step behind, so I started researching brain health and ran into all types of very interesting things. I also started experimenting with brain supplements. It turns out that this research runs into Alzheimer's and associated diseases (of course). But, it also runs into whole body health. My dog's (don't laugh-she's a recognized microbiologist) ophthalmologist said it best I think when I noticed the ingredients in her vision supplement were similar to my brain supplement research. She said, "well, a cell's a cell." ;-)

Too much reliance on Siclair I see his stuff being debunked online...and isnt high NAD levels potentially bad for those who mat delevlop cancer later.. why don't you present a balanced view see below from my research
Yes, high levels of Nicotinamide Adenine Dinucleotide (NAD) can potentially promote the growth and spread of cancer cells123. Here are some key points:
NAD and Cancer Cell Metabolism: Increased NAD levels enhance glycolysis, a process that breaks down glucose for energy, which can fuel the rapid proliferation of cancer cells23.
NAD and Enzyme Activity: Nicotinamide phosphoribosyltransferase (Nampt), a rate-limiting enzyme for NAD synthesis in mammalian cells, is frequently amplified in several cancer cells3. This suggests that high NAD levels might be associated with increased activity of certain enzymes that promote cancer growth3.
NAD and Cancer Growth: Cancer cells have high metabolic needs, including processes requiring NAD1. Many types of cancer cells boost NAD-making enzymes and then die when those enzymes are blocked by drugs1.
However, it’s important to note that the relationship between NAD levels and cancer is complex and may depend on various factors. More research is needed to fully understand this relationship and its implications for cancer treatment123.

While taurine and l-taurine are closely related, there are some key differences between the two: Chemical Structure: Taurine is a sulfonic acid, while l-taurine is an amino acid. Bioavailability: L-taurine is more readily absorbed and utilized by the body compared to taurine...
Niacin and niacinamide are both forms of Vitamin B. Niacin (or nicotinic acid) is a compound found in fresh meat and yeast. Niacinamide (the amide of nicotinic acid) is a compound with a slightly different chemical formula that is found in meat, liver, fish, whole wheat, and eggs....
