It’s always been odd to me how the tow cable has been the go to method to show AT-ATs being destroyed when it was more of a fluke Luke pulled off while the rest of the pilots were busy getting shot down.

We only see it working in Hoth.
Perhaps it is the only method to reliably destroy it. Not that it would work every time

The biggest enemy to At-ATs in Empire at War wasn’t the landspeeders, it was the Rebel Artillery tanks mass spamming proton torpedoes outside line of sight. Those things wrecked practically everything the Empire had.

Before then they had to rely on stopgap measures like on hoth, shooting down the AT-AT transports, or just straight up retreating.

I remember there was a scene deleted from Empire, where three snow troopers approach the door that 3PO took the sign off of, and one gets dragged inside by a Wampa, and the other two just kind of look at each other. Then Vader walks up, sees what's going on, and just shakes his head and walks away.
It was cut because while Lucas didn't mind some jokes and quips here and there, he wanted Star Wars to be a largely serious movie, and that was just a little too silly for the tone he was going for. Which I get, when you watch it, it really doesn't match the tone of the rest of the scene.
But I feel like these games feature a lot of the kind of stuff they would have done if they had been making something more lighthearted and silly.
