SWITZERLAND DEVASTATION: FLOODS AND LANDSLIDES HIT THE RHONE VALLEY

Last weekend, Switzerland was the scene of an environmental tragedy that shook the country and put the Wallis region on alert. Severe storms and melting snow in the mountains caused significant flooding in the Rhône River and its tributaries, resulting in a scenario of destruction and emergency. The consequences were felt throughout the region, with hundreds of people having to be evacuated and hundreds of emergency workers being mobilized.
The A9 motorway, one of the region's main connecting routes, was closed, and rail traffic was severely impacted. Bridges collapsed, roads became impassable, and transport infrastructure collapsed. The gravity of the situation led the authorities to declare the maximum level of danger, mobilizing all available resources to deal with the crisis.
In northern Italy, the situation is equally serious, with several areas isolated due to landslides and flooding. The Italian authorities are on high alert, working tirelessly to rescue victims and contain the damage caused by the torrential rains.
