Nah, i really doubt it - that is not about the stuff he already put out, you never know, how he would evolve. Would he moved along, and make good music on a trap beat? Would his content or insight on current events be as relevant? Would he be as humble and close to people as he was with all that money around? Judging, how man, that died 20+ years ago would perform today is very naive and biased, honestly. It's not a doubt, he still is an icon - but the fact, that he wouldn't be at the top is obvious, nobody is at the peak that long

Great reaction bro. And You're not alone with abondoning Em at one point. I remember seeing the track list for Revival and thinking "he's one of those now" bc he had a lot of pop artists n shit on it and it just wasn't as good to me. I probably listened to like 1 song on it or heard on the radio and that was it. It wasn't till I saw Rap Devil randomly online somewhere that I got back into the whole thing with Em, and eventually checking out all of Ems catalogue and it's fire as fuck.

Lawl😂, I am becoming one of these people who types out essays.
As a an overall project,musically Revival was awkward. However it is a mature album with regards to the topics and the narrative. Lyrically it is awesome.
Musically there are a few songs that are pleasing overall. They sound beautiful.
I think the problem was there wasn't a great medium between production..meeting the flows and melodies.
However I am glad it exists because of the topics discussed,lyrics and its depth, as well as the gems it has. The process and info is all there.
Execution was the problem.

I gave a like to this reaction last year but I'm listening again and you gave me some food for thought. You made a good point when you said that Rakim isn't given the respect that he deserves and how would people think of Pac if he was still alive and putting out music. It makes me wonder if people would still be checking for Biggie if he was still around. It seems like longevity is only appreciated with pop, rock or R&B artists; Mary J still gets love after 30 years in the business. Personally I prefer old school specifically the ones that dominated 90's hip hop (Wu Tang, DMX, Nas, Tupac, Biggie, Redman) along with Em, Jay and Kendrick but there doesn't seem to be much appreciation for the ones that are still putting out music today.

How does one who is supposedly dead wake up and even say anything about anything. One can be alive and hear every single thing being said. Nobody wants the get hurt (at least in my mind) and some have to big of a heart (if that is what's portrayed) so to avoid it breaking they blast there mind into outer space. Still coherent and conversational while being taught discipline in knowing some could feel out of place. You see it every day how simple words get bent and twisted to fit the listener's point of view. It's like the game of telephone, tell one person a sentence have them repeat it to the next, who repeats it to the next.. Etc.. The last person who gets the original sentence is then ask what it was and it's never right. There's always missing and/or add information
