How to remove the pulley at the end of the crankshaft. It has to be removed for the replacement of the timing belt/cambelt. It has to be removed to remove the timing belt lower cover plates. It is not easy to remove if it is corroded in position. Gentle persuasion with a soft copper or brass hammer will start to shift it. Plenty of penetrating oil. Tap tap tap, pull and wiggle.
VW timing locking kit: this kit covers most models, but check that it will fit yours.

I spent a day replacing the timing belt on this VW golf. It will be similar on VW Golf, Bora, Jetta, Passat, Vento, etc with the 1.9 SDI engine. It may also be similar on other VAG vehicles, Skoda, Audi, Seat.

@@bootsowen yes, but my question is that if the engine burns oil and the oil level in the dipstick goes lower and you need to add more

If engine burns oil it is worn out, this engine is still 100000miles, 160kkm. It does not burn oil
