  • This is the start of my Pacific Northwest trip with Brian from BKXC. We start in Seattle and work our way up to the promise land.
On day one, Diamondback takes us out on their home stomping grounds for some trail riding.
Thanks to the Evergreen Mountain Bike Alliance for building and maintaining these amazing trails. Check them out here: www.evergreenmtb.org
    Bike I was riding: www.diamondback.com/mission-p...
    Hand Pump: www.crankbrothers.com/product...
The Pacific Northwest is known as one of the greatest mountain biking destinations in the world, and for good reason. Every day, I read comments from people literally begging me to go there. Let’s do that. Over the next few videos I’ll be riding Seattle, Bellingham, and of course British Columbia. I’m going to the promise land, and taking you guys with me. But first, I need to find someone to watch my house while I’m gone.
We met Bryce Wenker, brand manager for Diamondback at Duthie Hill mountain bike park. Bryce and TJ, also from Diamondback, would show us around the Seattle metro area. Duthie was just a warm up.
We didn’t have time to ride all of Duthie, but I saw enough. On any trip to Washington, this is a must visit spot for all skill levels.
We headed out to some local trails to kill some time before lunch.
As more Diamondback riders showed up, we knew we were in for a party. They were excited to show us what Seattle had to offer, and on one of the longest days of the year, we had plenty of time to do it.
Bryce ordered food ahead of time so we could fuel up for the next spot-an unfinished trail. Have you ever used paper, or something made of wood? Ever wonder where it comes from?
The Evergreen Mountain Bike alliance doesn’t just move ridiculous amounts of dirt, they also work with the government and the public to put land to good use. They’re a model for other organizations around the country, and without their help we wouldn’t have had time to ride so many places in one day. If you want to see all this stuff they’re working on, I dropped a link below.
So there you have it, day fucking one. We have Bryce from Diamondback to thank for organizing this huge day of riding, so show and the other riders some love on Instagram.
Brian and I set out for the next spot in Washington, Bellingham. Our day in Bellingham was very special, so I’m going to edit it at home after the trip. Next time, you can join us as we cross the Canadian border and visit the promise land.
Thanks for riding with me today, and I’ll see you next time.

Hey guys! If you have any questions about those trails they can be found at www.evergreenmtb.org/ The amount of work this organization has done up in that region is just mind blowing. The jumps are built so well I didn't even fall ONCE in my entire stay in Washington. Bad if you like funny falls, but good if you love to ride!

Hit up Duthie Hill. Lots of great flow, and xc trails. Located off I90. Edit: Commented this before watching. Glad to see you went there. You should have came a week later, Stevens Pass and Mt Bachelor open 30th weekend. It'd be awesome to see some DH content. If you're heading up to BC, Whistler is so worth it if you got the time.

Duthie Bike Park-OMG!!!!!! My friends parents used to own all of that land! Most of my childhood was spent making poor decisions in those woods! I once drove a mini van through those woods trying to race a quad, the minivan had NOS but got stuck. We hacked down the brush to clear dirt bike trails one summer. Well actually we just drove a lifted truck through the forest and called that our trail. We had some cool trails, but I wonder if they still exist. We also used to paintball so we had constructed many forts for shelter there. My friends left in 2003 and looking at old news clippings it opened in 2010 so its doubtful.

Seth! So great to see you exploring my local trails. You should definitely hit Alsea Falls near Eugene next time you're around. I've been watching your videos for years, and they've been super inspiring to me as I've been on my mountain biking journey. That said, this is the first time I've been disappointed in any of your content. What you were saying about logging at 9:00 glazes over a lot of big issues for mountain biking and forestry in the PNW. All that tacky, squishy loam we love washes away when you clearcut and it is NOT a normal thing for those forests, we've just normaLIZED it. Regardless of what the money or trees are used for, it's not sustainable. Mountain bikers and folks with a following like yourself have a lot of power in supporting sustainable forestry, rather than big clearcuts that are made "okay" because we get to build trails in them.

We don't have the ski lifts like BC, and you have to watch out for poison oak. But, we've got paved trails and low traffic streets for the road bikes, nice flowing trails with beautiful views, and some serious technical trails for the graduate level biker. If you love hiking and/or biking, this is a pretty good place to live (it does get a bit hot in the summer though, today was the coolest day in over a week at 103 F).

So rad to see my local trails featured in one of your videos. I'm about a 20 min drive to Duthie, 15 mins to Tokul, 15 Mins to Tiger, and 15 mins to Raging River when it opens. Plus in the winter i'm 35 mins to Snoqualmie Pass for snowboarding. I live in a pretty rad spot.

I live in Vancouver Washington so there's tons of places near me, including My. Hood Ski Bowl. And my brother Lives in Athol, ID. I will definitely have to bug him to go do some biking with me next time I visit him! Which will be very soon!!
