To my ears these 3rd Gen Air pods are more comfortable compared to the newer Pro version with the soft gel tips. czcams.com/users/postUgkxgl8SzyQoymMu-S3V55Dskg5QJ8xr1yCR That said, compared to the 3rd Gen, I notice these do not stay planted in the ear as well. One design issue I think, is you squeeze the stem and click it twice to advance your songs. On 3rd gen you tap the large speaker. The difference is by grabbing the stem each time, you tend to loosen the bud fit in your ear. Not always, but the bud falls out a few times while running. The old tap to change never had that problem for me. I would not have changed that tap function. That said, the newer Pro version sticks in the ear, almost airtight if you want that. I do not like that Airtight fit. So that's why I'd stay with this version as the best trade off of comfort, use, and overall feel.

Thomathan I currently use fakes. The same great fit and not-losing-them (Unlike with those silicone-tipped competitors) shape, but 30 bucks instead of 160. Not nearly as good for connection, battery life, and ease of use, but... 30 vs 160.

Well that's true the first time you use it, as you have to set up the pad.
But I've used Samsung phones before and after they started wireless charging, it made things so much easier and simple. It doesn't seem like much of a difference, but it meant I was charging my phone every time I placed it on the table not even thinking about it and I would never run out of charge.
But I would never buy it as an add on for overpriced headphones for even more money, especially not when it's Apple's excuse for not actually changing anything in 2 or 3 years.
I think more people are finally seeing that's what Apple have always done with their iPhones too.
I would just buy the Galaxy Buds.

I find AirPods in general to be the best product they’ve released in recent years. Surprised how i loved them more the longer I’ve had them. Super comfortable, has legit never fallen off, even with motion (I’m an acrobat). I don’t see any reason to upgrade to this updated generation, because they’re pretty awesome as is. Hopefully future generations will let you have a gesture control for volume on the physical buds themselves, but definitely not a deal breaker. Good job.

Heard the Gen 3 ones come with those rubber plugs instead of how they currently fit in your ear. It’s apparently for a new noise cancel feature.
I can't use intra earbuds (eczema inside both ears), so airpods are one of the few that I can use. Even tho I'm not a big fan of apple products in general, I really hope they will stick with this design (for it is the only design that fits my ear and does not trigger any unwanted ear canal health issue)

There are some silicon ear tips on Amazon but they Don’t have ear hooks So they can fit in your ear and your charging case

I have the Samsung gear 2018 and the only thing wrong with them is this 'fitness mode'. But other than that they are amazing, quick connect, several different fins and bud sizes, 4 hours charge in a bud and 8 hours in the case, using one at a time they can get me through a 12 hour shift only switching ears once while putting them away periodically. 10/10 would recommend
