To my ears these 3rd Gen Air pods are more comfortable compared to the newer Pro version with the soft gel tips. czcams.com/users/postUgkxgl8SzyQoymMu-S3V55Dskg5QJ8xr1yCR That said, compared to the 3rd Gen, I notice these do not stay planted in the ear as well. One design issue I think, is you squeeze the stem and click it twice to advance your songs. On 3rd gen you tap the large speaker. The difference is by grabbing the stem each time, you tend to loosen the bud fit in your ear. Not always, but the bud falls out a few times while running. The old tap to change never had that problem for me. I would not have changed that tap function. That said, the newer Pro version sticks in the ear, almost airtight if you want that. I do not like that Airtight fit. So that's why I'd stay with this version as the best trade off of comfort, use, and overall feel.

The positional audio thing would be great--if it worked with PC's where gaming happens. Imagine the level of awareness in FPS games. Or the way a flight simulator could use the positional data of the headphones for head tracking.
LTT didn't mention 360 audio tech on Sony wh-1000xm4
@@QCccccc you're mixing spatial audio with 360/dolby audio spatial is apples thing when you move your head around the audio stays accurately positioned relative to the audio source
Positional audio in games is already fine because you don't turn your head, and head turning positional audio is already a thing in vr games where you do turn your head.
I've tried my friend's pair for a few days to see if I wanted to plop down $550 on these headphones and I can say it's personally not for me. I used his old iPhone 8 plus and my Sony 1000mx4 and Bose 700 for my testing.
One thing that Linus doesn't mention in this review, which is a SUPER IMPORTANT point, is that the weight of the Airpods Max is nearly double that of the 1000xm4 and 700. And this alone can affect the comfort and amount of time that you will be able to use the headphones without getting neck fatigue. The headband design helps with the way it sits on your head but it will not help with the neck problem. The earcups also clamp right at my jaw under my ear which gets real painful after about 30 minutes of usage. This problem will vary by user. I had the sliders on the headphone opened to the max to accommodate my larger head size and that could be the problem with the clamp.
With Spotify or something like YT Music, the audio is fine. I do like that they don't start clipping in the higher volume ranges but when listening to higher quality music using Tidal and Plex Amp with FLAC files, there are times when the lower bit rate of AAC is apparent.
Finally, the Active Noise Canceling on the Airpods Max is hands down the best I've ever heard in any headphones. Ambient mode on these are also the best out of the three headphones used. They sound completely natural and if it wasn't for the weight and the clamp, it's as if I wasn't wearing anything over my ears. The one notable exception is in high wind conditions where the noise of the wind is amplified, sometimes to uncomfortable levels.

Like calm down, I understand that people who hate on Apple might get aggressive at times, but you don't have to defend the company, especially when they don't give a sh*t about you. Like if you want to support Apple, no matter how horrible they are, then just continue using and buying their stuff, don't go crazy trying to poor shame, belittle, and berate those who don't use Apple products. Like seriously, I always see comment chains with this formula:
Person A: Apple = bad
Person B: You're just too poor haha, imagine using lagdroid/imagine being a samsheep/imagine not using superior tech
Person A: Apple did
Person B: well obviously you're just not rich enough and/or at the level of intellect that Apple users need to be
Person A, C, D - Z:
@@FiniteCS All this effort put into an essay and still no likes! Yikes!😂
@@BillyPhilipRwoth You only write 500 words in your essays? I hope you're in elementary school still since otherwise I feel bad for your lack of literary education.
Do you have an iPhone you use specifically to use with the Apple Watch?
4:46 You can see the battery level indicator in a Galaxy device, see in Devices, Notification Panel on the top.
7:10 best reaction😂🤣

You can use apps like wavelet to eq the max, ive done so myself with my pros and man they sound better
How about Audio-technica wireless heaphones? Will you ever review them or use them as comparison?
I want to know what headphone stand they are using
I'm a bit worried they didn't use the sound settings of the Sony's enough
Exactly, messing with the sound settings changes the game with XM4s
Lol "but worried"
@@William_35 the average consumer wouldn't buy the SONY...
LTT's reviews are like that most of the time, half hearted
@@jesusbarrera6916 Makes no sense dude. They're MADE for average consumers.
These ain't for me but if you like em, buy em. Hope you enjoy them. 👍🏾
Happy New Year everyone.
A kind comment in this sea of fanboys war...
Thanks.
Finally someone who realizes different things are for different people. I’ll never buy these, but for someone using Apple I’m sure they’re incredible and sound great from what I’ve heard.
people complain about the price clearly have never bought good headphones, I paid pretty much the same price for my bose headphones and it was totally worth it.
Yeah but with that your paying for quality and not just the ability to flex that you have an apple product
@@OC-CPA yea I'm not much on apple products but I've heard nothing but good things about the headphones and I love the design.
@@OC-CPA okay
What about the moisture condensation issue?
Are you sure there is no way to adjust EQ? AirPods Pro have some accessibility settings which fine tune the sound.
Usually apps have built in equalizers anyways. I know on iPhone both the music app and Spotify have equalizers you can change in their settings.
"Sacral Chakra bass" Good script writing using the surprise of a material youtube channel using a spiritual metaphor!
Was not expecting that at all
Before watching the vid. I generally don't like Apple as a company (for a myriad of reasons) but I truly hope those headphones are truly great.
As an owner of Sony's XM3's I do wonder whether or not Sony fixed any of the problems (I've had) with the headphones with the XM4.
Special audio is still an issue on IOS. You don’t have support for Dolby atmos or anything that you could take advantage off on the iOS Netflix app
Linus, What about the equalizer setting in Settings: Music: Playback: EQ?
exactly what i was going to mention
There is also a entire EQ in the settings and a custom EQ setting that the headphones make for you to chose.
He doesn't use an iPhone so wouldn't know such things.
Also, Spotify itself (the main use-case Linus describes in this video) allows you to manipulate a 6-band EQ in its app.
Yep, EQs in Apple Music and Spotify apps, also the “headphone accomodations” settings to control brightness / how balanced they are etc
2:57 "no digital signal processing to hide the poor"
The poor: guess I'll die now
Even better than drop pandas are the anker soundcore Q30, while being cheaper if adjusted well on their EQ they can sound more neutral and defined.
Without the case or a power button, how do you disconnect them so you can use your phones speaker instead? Like getting a phone call when the headphones are in the other room?
No comments on the “bra” case? Lol.

I was wondering if anyone else caught on that lol
Because its not an issue with 3rd party cases.......
Maybe because this joke was already old the second day after those things got released?
“Crotch deep in Apple’s echo system.” I’ve been looking for a way to say that for ages now. Thanks.
He says ecosystem lmao
@@uwirl4338 I’m pretty sure my autocorrect changed that.
From my experience (haven't tried the pandas):
You want alot of base: get the Sony's
You want good NC: get the Sony's
You want usable Call Quality: get the Bose 700
You are an apple user and want no compromises: Airpods Max
got my sony's for $250 USD granted they are the mx3 not 4, they are still grate and anyone looking for decent headphones should get them. They are a bit heavy on the base but the 2018 model has the best touch controls (to me) and you get basically the same performance for less than half the cost.
