    Being an enthusiast and not a professional in the paint world, I absolutely love the more economical equipment videos… the pros may not agree but I like the videos that show a professional result with an affordable tool!

      I got 50 litre compressor, has 14cfm. Should I use slg5(9.8 cfm) or f160(7.7cfm) because video says flg5 is more suitable for home use even though has high cfm requirements

    • @bosshawg7427
      @bosshawg7427 Před rokem +1

      @ysr789 the cfm rating on the ANI guns is misleading. They rate them at lower PSI, but they don't atomize all until you crank the pressure up. The FLG5 keeps composure from 18-29, but can handle up to 35 without blowing out the fan pattern. It's also pretty efficient on paint use. The ANI isn't

    Bought an FLG5 in the U.K. on the strength of this video. I’m a hobbyist but like to make a decent job. Did a base and clear red side skirt this morning to try it, really even spray pattern and the clear went on like glass 👌

    I did a home crash repair and spray job and am happy with the result. Thanks Gunny for the time you put into the channel, without it, I probably wouldn't have tried. The one lesson I hadn't learnt was how far to pull down and clean my gun (Ani150). I was taking the pot, Air cap, needle, spring and knob out to clean separately and then reassemble, flush and test spray gun cleaner. But I didn't realise that the air nozzle itself needs to be spanner'd out to clean the chamber behind it as well. The supplied instructions were an exploded diagram and parts list and most utube's show just the "hand screw out" items being cleaned. Its a detail that might have been obvious to everyone else, but I missed it.

      @@sean7193 what are you spraying? Base, clear, or single stage? I’ve used both for all 3 and for me, the F160 works fine for single stage and base, the FLG5 works fine for clear and base. The F160 seems to need a bit more pressure than the FLG5, but I’ve heard it both ways. The ANI guns are also a bit easier for me to clean, but I’m just strange in how I clean my guns.

      @@aurktman1106 thanks for getting back. I plan on spraying base and clear with it (got the 1.3) . From what I hear you can reduce the material, and narrow the fan slightly if you want to reduce the pressure required by the f160. I'm.sure with a little playing around I'll get it to work for my scenario....also do you k ow of you can spary epoxy sealer with it or should I get a dedicated primer gun for that? Like a 1.8?

    • @aurktman1106
      @aurktman1106 Před 2 lety

I used my FLG5 to primer first but then I realised I needed a highbuild to fill in the dips on my flaking chrome wheels so I bought the AZ3, I didn't want to use highbuild in my paint gun. But I did like the way the AZ3 sprayed the primer when I did a re prime after sanding through in some spots.
      The feel in hand and less weight is what I really like about the AZ3, I'm sure the FLG5 would have sprayed more like the AZ3 if it had a 1.8 tip.
      The guns are way overkill for me but I like your channel so I wanted something you would recommend.

    FlG 5 nice gun but no parts if it goes wrong. Mine needed a new Spreader valve. Contacted Devilbiss who confirmed no part available. Budget gun they said so basically throw away if it goes wrong. Very disappointed.

    Not surprising the Air Gunza didn't fare well, you are using an older model. I'm certain there are body shop range models now, ie blue flash
