Your commitment to the trade has paid dividends my friend, also the effort in your vids is next to none. Thanks for all you've done and will do in the future, as always "stay spraying!"
Gunman, Thank you for being technical . Thank you for all the great videos that you have had over the years. I really have learned alot from you . Thank you.
The best part is seeing all these guns in action, love your Top ten videos
I’m pleased with your review of theses guns. I’m still a devilbiss tekna fan. Thanks gunny hope you’re doing well been watching the devastation in your homeland. Sending prayers

The Gunman all sorted thanks again mate.
I like how you always talk about money first. Because most people can’t afford a beautiful spray gun because not everyone is financially stable. Nice vid!
I love the fact that even after you said you weren't going to brake it down like the points based vid, versatility and price still have such a strong influence on your opinion. You are who are man lol👍🏻
Thanks for another great video. really informative and im not sure if you know how much this helps the community man
Always honest in your reviews on spray guns and teaching methods
Great job on the reviews and all of your videos. I've learned so much. Keep em coming !
I am glad I found your channel. I have a bunch of cars I am restoring. Your reviews and knowledge have been very helpful in picking spray guns.
Thanks for the review. My wife got me a Iwata WS-400 Supernova yesterday as a Xmas present. Can´t wait to try it out. Now I feel like a Lamborghini owner even I just do spraypainting as hobby on my own cars. Nothing better when you have painted something and it comes out smooth as glass without working your ass off by sanding and buffing. That´s why I love my Iwata´s (I have 4 now).
How'd the supernova spray, man?
thx gunny reall good advice. You inspired me to paint my own wheels from watching your videos. they came up pretty good from your tips and equipment i used
Bought my dv1 because of you!! Love it for base
Thanks Gunny and Spray guns direct for the awesome giveaway!! Speaking of the ani r150 I picked one up awhile back in the 1.2 and no kidding that thing is a monster.. thanks for the recommendation on that jewel!!
Thanks for taking the time to help us all out!
Thanks Gunny!
I appreciate your channels and all the vids. I find them usefull and inspiring.
Keep up the good work.
Thanks for a another quality video. The effort is differently appreciate at this end.
I am a DIY guy and brought my first sparygun from Spraygun. Direct solely based on from watching your first top 10 review way back when. I brought the FLG and now looking buying another one for primer.
Absolutely love every video. Especially the Poison Ivy SS Commodore one, as I own exactly that car/colour but in a Redline Sportswagon..Lost count how many times I have watched it to learn how to spray that colour correctly.
Thanks mate.
RIP Holden. So sad.
Excellent video Gunny! Very clear explanation of each gun and some some great choices. Cheers, Ray
I’m a dedicated watcher for California! Awesome as always! 😎👍🏼
Thanks for all your work and lack of brand bias.
Setting the bar higher than the compressor!
Great unbiased reviews .as always thank you
Another great video, I was getting nervous seeing all the newer guns in this video BUT, was happy to see the GTI Pro lite is still your number one go too. I went with the GTI Pro lite (tekna) per your previous videos, I haven't regretted it for one second. I'm looking at the ANI R150 with the 1.2 tip for my next purchase. Thanks for your knowledge and for the hard work you do.
Off work at 4 a.m. here in the states.....perfect timing
This man is the "Legend" won't find anyone better than this guy.
Good stuff Gunny. Thank you. I said I wasn’t gonna buy nothin till ur vid came out. No excuses now. I also had no idea that different ambient temperatures calls for different size tips. I’m a serious noob and that was a revelation. Wrote that down. I appreciate your efforts and thanks again for making this vid
Wow, love the spray guns and a very good review, llove ittt!!!
Love your material as always. I bought the FLG5 on your recommendation for primer. Thankyou. Now I just need a dedicated base/clear gun... :)
Love it gunnie.
Love how you put it. Especially for people with young familys and morgages who cant aford $700 and up priced guns. And still can get a awesome finish with a working mans priced gun 😁😁
Absolutely man! Some people get a bit carried away by looks and forget that performance is the most important part of a tool.
yep, that would be me! I wont be painting enough to justify buying a pro's gun but I still want a good gun to go along with all the rest of the hard work it takes for an excellent finish.
I've been waiting for this
love the vids mate always learning heaps keep up the good work.
ive done a few jobs with my flg5 now. as a beginner I picked it up followed the settings you recommended and just started painting. I really cant believe how easy it is to use. the first job was a bumper in red metallic. I did get some orange peel due to not thinning my clear correctly but matched spot on after a polished. for anyone looking to buy a first gun its been easy to pick up and learn with the Devilbiss flg5
Nice videos mate! Thx for all your uploads! I learned a lot from your videos.
Just found your channel Gunman, really useful info on pressure settings and the ability to manipulate results, fan size etc. just by changing pressure. I'm starting a restoration on a 1951 Hudson Pacemaker (I had no idea Hudson made a 1933 Pacemaker Eight!) at home and already bought a Anest Iwata gun with 1.8 nozzle for epoxy sealer (AZ3 HTE). Plan is to repair then seal each panel one at a time over the next few weeks. When it's time to reassemble and paint the whole car I'll look for a gun with a bigger fan as it's a big car. Thanks for your very informative videos, I'm gonna start going through your back cattledog of videos for my bedtime reading!
If I ever need a jump start in Melbourne I'll get you to grab the jump start kit ...
Hey Gunman, thanks for all the great videos. I wouldn't have had the courage to take on the DIY painting that I have done, without these videos. This one in particular could not have come at a better time. I am buying a new gun and was not sure what to get. After watching this video I decided on either the Iwata Bellaria or the FlG5. I almost bought the Iwata, but found an FLG5 with a 1.3 from MDA Bitec in the UK. Supposedly, Devilbiss made them specifically for them in some type of volume deal. I am a little skeptical, but they are a reputable company so figured I'd give it a try. I am in the US so it's going to take a while to get here, but I will let you know how it goes. Thanks again for all the work you put into these videos.
Good on ya Gunny!!! Always a solid watch!!!
Great list Gunny, I personally own 5 of these guns. Although I might have a slightly different order, I think you most definitely have the #1 position correct. Have loved my Tekna pro-lite. Even since it was demoted from base to single stage, it was nice to just change fluid tip and have it continue to smash out beautiful finishes. So much versatility built into that gun, you can't go wrong with one.
Great vid. Really enjoy learning from you. Keep up the great work
Love that you got your own gun brother!!!! Keep killing it with all your videos, much love from California!!!! 🤘🏼
Got 4 Gpi's and 1 flg 5, great guns and excellent vid as always gunman
Thank you Gunman! I purchased two great guns you recommended the Devilbiss Tekna Prolite and Ani 50. Watching your videos have me confidence to spay some shit! Mahalo!
I Really enjoy your videos, I’m a 4 year painter, I was an iwata man all the way, I started watching you about 2 years ago, bought z gti pro lite and haven’t picked up anything else since. Now I have 3 and don’t see ever changing, may try the DV-1. Thanks agIn!!
Nice to see another good honest review, that's relevant to professional and home sprayers. Well done Gunny
Awesome review of the top 10 guns.
Nice guns, great info on all of them Gunny.
Awesome top 10 Gunny..still need some trigger time on the Iwata Supernova.🍻👍
Thanks for your reviews mate , very helpful
I purchased a Tekna pro lite based on your reviews on the GTI platform spray gun, and its really good, low overspray, high material savings at very low pressure, I absolutely love it, I've been using an Iwata Lph 400 for about 12 years, and the diferrence is night and day, this is a true HVLP spray gun.
How did your tune your gun? Mine likes to lay down a lot of material for some reason and I can’t seem to save on material
Great list your videos have taken me from a industrial type painter to a custom finishes. I paint at custom trailer shop and used there pressure pot for a year then started getting my own guns and prepping better. Not just a quick sand but removing millscale and wide with wax and grease remover even the bosses couldn't believe the differences one day it wasnt bad before. But now I can get minimal and glass finishes with high quality 2part alkyd enamel 5 year fade out warranty. Gti pro light and sagola and sata 5500 we do some vehicles but Bobcats skid steers, dozers , military vehicle. I'm the only painter. Thanks for everything was able to get more money once I learned to use hvlp rp lvlp. Coming from pressure pot to hvlp. Didntike hvlp at first. Abd bought lvlp and loved it. Once I got to where that was to slow. I went back to that other gun and found from you get closrt 4 5 inches away and it laid glass. Experience and experimenting is the way to learn but seeing and having pointers helps when spraying daily. My boss couldn't teach I self taught. Now I can walk in any shop and if they let me do a job for free I know I'll get the job. Started side work at my house. Thank for the time in these videos. For DIY I run 3 compressors in parallel 3 different breakers. Roughly 17 cfm @90 150 psi 65 gallons and portable
Well, this makes a pleasant change. Someone who knows what the're talking about. Well done chap. And yes the GTI has been the top gun for a number of years in the UK. 30 years ago when l was painting and panel beating l actually favoured the Sata , it was a brilliant all rounder. I only paint occasionally now so more or less anything will do, mainly my very worn out Sata. I must say that you appeared to be painting at a pretty high pressure but l think it was optical as you mentioned 45psi. I'm officially retired but paint my own cars in my garage. ( that's about one every 3years! but it's like riding a bike. You never forget. Cheers ! Hope your all ok with this covid19 going global. Keep safe and take care!
Hi Have you ever painted Opalescent Maroon its a deep Burgandy its a Jaguar color i am thinking of painting my Holden wagon the same color but in Acrylic as i have never painted 2 pac before
Fast paced. Informative. Eloquent.
Nice compliation, I'm Team FLG 5 for life, after your last recommendation.May consider buying the Gti pro as I step up my game.My garage results are on my channel. The black hilux was done with the FLG 5 other 2 cars are with an iwata, I'm a perth lad and love that you narrate your vids. Awesome work.
Love your videos gunman keep em coming brother !
great review on the guns I am a devilbiss fan too I want to get the dv1 base for sure I have sprayed with it and really liked it
Outstanding video, I'm looking to upgrade my current gun and your video has helped me make up my mind.
Good review I must say I have a devilbiss flg5 gun and it sprays really well cheer gunny
Thanks for the professional evaluation.
The Gunman - absolutely super informative video - one of your best - I'm a DIY and just love spray painting - when I was younger and running my business, used to hire a compressor & gun - now I'm retired, do it as a hobby - made a lot of mistakes, but learnt - now when I get a good finish straight off the gun (no sanding) it's like a drug, you get on a high - started off with a 2 hp, 88 liter tank, compressor, with a Sata knock off spray gun (difficult to get a smooth finish) - just purchased a 4hp, 150 liter tank compressor, 13 cfm, so looking for an affordable gun to match - currently down to three options (based on your gun review) Iwata, Tekno (DeVilbiss) and Sagola - might consider also the ANi R 150 Mini gun (mostly doing smaller jobs) thanx' again - love your video's
WISH ME LUCK! Thanks for the review brother!
Hi there mate, I like the Iwota Supernova . That would be fine enough for my home respray efforts . I love your work.
I've been using the tekna pro lite for base and clear for the last 4 years, everyday, and I absolutely love it!
Another top video gunny! As a home diy painter i find your videos so useful man thx so much :)
as a profi how you find this video?
Love my GTi Pro lite . Thanks to you 👍
I’m wondering if someday you’d do a top 10 on just quality and performance. I’m curious to see how these rankings would move
Agreed!
Yes been waiting on this
I just watched your previous video yesterday and was like, "Man, I wish he'd come back out with a new one soon"... Weird timing, but I can't say I'm disappointed! :D
Great vids man been a loyal subscriber from day one
I'm still using sata NR95 since the late 90s.
I decided I'm going to upgrade thank you for the video very helpful
Great video and very interesting seeing all the difference guns in action as you don't get to see this when yr painting car day in day out , im currently using iwata ws 400 clear coat super nova which I love it gives a lovely flat finish and completely agree with you about the transfer efficiency , where can I pick up a gunman T shirt from m8 ??
Once again, thanks for the info.my wish gun. is still top of your list.👌
Great video Gunny, you are an inspiration to me, I've learned a lot from your vids, you may have noticed a lot of likes from me lately as I'm going through your vids vacuuming up all the info I can.
No surprise to see the Pro lite at #1 , but very good job at being unbiased about your selection. Price is usually a big factor in choosing my guns, but sometimes I like to treat myself to something pretty. Ahhhhhh hahaha.
Gotta go, need to paint some s#!+...
hello looking at your videos i learned a lot and thank you for everything. Based on your videos i aam took 2 gti pro lite pistols one with hv30 cap and the other for clear te20. Now i want to thank you publicly for getting exactly what i wanted because you were very accurate in describing Gti pro lite.Thank you.
I am extremely happy with my Devilbiss made in mexico version you recommended a few years ago, I don't spray paint a lot, I used it the other day to spray 2 pack base on a tractor bonnet, Devilbiss guns are well engineered inside compared to the cheap and nasty ones
Hi I am not a spray painter, have done some diy spray work like all your videos, very good info
I couldn't agree more with your selections and reasons. I'm a DIY guy and I always look for versatility and value for money. Thank you and spray guns direct for the giveaway.
Thanks gunnie for your straight talk. I noticed in an older vid you had the work zone gun. You forgot to put that in you too ten 😂
Awesome! I'll have to look into it. Here in Indianapolis, Indiana. We're using mostly Sata, and Iwata for Collision, Custom, and Production. It would be a good idea to invest in multiple brand's. Now I lay primer on a 1.4, base in 1.3.
Nice I bought the Tekna Watching your videos
Hi mate, I love your vids, they are so helpful to me as a hobbyist car nut who occasionally needs to do a little painting. I have an Iwata Inest AZ3 with a 1.3mm cap which I have been using at 28psi linked up to a large capacity compressor so no worries there. It seems to use a whole heap of paint tho and wondered if you could provide a few additional tips for me. Also my base coat sometimes goes on a little dull (not wet finish) but its always a balance between wet finish and heaps of runs. I don't use a booth and am in VIC AU so its often less than 20c. Cheers mate and keep up the awesome vids.
I am using sata jet 5000 rp 1.3 at work for 2k polyurethane topcoats. Two years so far and about 30kg of paint in everyday use makes this gun so reliable.
Thanks a lot Gunny!!! 1,2,3 positions on your list I Have in my workspace. Great top 10!!!!
nice job, thank you! greatings from Germany!
at last ,been waiting for this with anticipation - thanks gunnie
Hope it doesn't disappoint.
@@TheGunmanChannel very unlikely, thanks as always, your content is the 'go to source' mate
Great review thanks gunny love it
Awesome video as always 👏🏻
I tossed up between GTI and Bellaria a few years back now. I was using Iwata W400 at work for painting the locomotives and for me it was a nice progression with awesome fine air cap. Came with a 1.3 mm tip and been fine for direct gloss, base and clear. Cost me over $400 AU I'm sure though..😂👍
so you are using 1.3 for base as well?
@@mura0 yes I've used same setup to this day, painted quite a few metallics and pearls. You could give 1.4 a go but for myself the 1.3 is always consistent with great results. Love the Bellaria still! Tony's Refinishing on CZcams uses same gun on a few of his videos too.
Smashed it Gunny thank you.
Great top 10
Glad the one I chose has ended on top again :)
Hello gunny it’s your friend paul from Canada 🇨🇦….. I want to review all your recent stuff ! …. I suscribed 5 years ago , u are a great mentor and real !!!
Thanks Paul!! I hope you enjoy and learn something.
Very cool. I always enjoy your videos.
I've got 2 teknas 1 flg5 for my home shop and they are flawless
great video, as a DIYer, now in the market for a new gun. just looking at the Devilbiss prolite, got a couple of jags need paint.
Hey the gunman your the refinishing best of the World. Thanks for your videos.
Great review makes chosing a gun much easier
my workshop paints parts for the volkswagen industry, and we use Sata guns only because these are one of the fastest guns to put out color material and clearcoats, since we have to paint alot of parts a day we also need reliable guns! and ofc the satas last only like a month or 2 until they start showing wear since they get used 24hours a day
Put me in on the spray gun giveaway Gunman. Your the man!
Lph400 iwata for clear hands down. Gti pro lite for base coats tekna for metallics and pearls end of story 35 plus years master painter cheers from cali👊
Nice one, Gunny.
Gunman. I love your videos! I'd like to see a review of the best clear guns, for glass finishes!
