Get well buddy this video helps
Get well soon! I know that feeling of dying to get back to doing what you love to do!
Another thin to check is the size of your fluid tip most clear coats spray using a 1.3 some a 1.2 but in cooler climates (I an in the UK with no booth) my clear coat always got runs because the guns fluid tip was a 1.4 to much fluid on the first coat and it ran boy did it run Hs clear and a 1.3 tip now no more problems.
Thanks Brian, as a novice trying my hand at my own project. Your advice is my go too, Appreciate you.
I watch a lot of videos Brian and, this might be the very best tutorial I've seen yet. BRAVO
Glad it was helpful!
Nice to see the section on de nibbing. And the product names so I can add to my tool box. When I search for paint help I always search the topic and append … paint society. You’ve definitely helped my painting journey and I sometimes will psych myself up and destress with your famous tag .. don’t overthink it.. it’s just paint. 😉
Yea check the description for those products
Nice to see the de nibbing as well, thanks for sharing!
Ive painted several projects of my own. And done ok. But your advice has helped me a bunch. Thanks for your hard work and advice. I appreciate your videos and advice.
Dang, Bri-guy! That color is a pain in the butt for me to spray! Let alone blending it. Great video! I paint either full cars, roofs of chopped top cars or do small repairs on classics and flip cars, usually every week or two for the last 10 years or so. Yet I pick up a technique or two from your videos regularly. Thanks for your time and effort you've put into all of these videos!!
So happy you learned!!
Hi from South Africa this will help out a lot in the heat we have here thanks for the great videos
Absolutely a beautiful job, but of course, I think your paint will always be better than the factory, and how to blend out the factory job with a beautiful new paint job has to be a video on its own. Love your videos.
Another great lesson
Great tips,I will be using .
Great job as always Brian. Love that color. The job turned out spectacular. Love the way you explain your methods and explain everything. Enjoy the hot and humid weather in sunny Florida. Take care brother.
Great video ,especially with the hard to spray colors we have today!!!!
Looks perfect man
Love the channel Brian, I always get great advice and you always get great results!😎
I appreciate that!
Amazing job and technique
Admiration from Chicago 👌
Love the videos. You make it look sooo easy, but all us body/paint guys know better. Very informative.
Awesome job.
if your not worried about having a closed coat, practice walking the side on your first coat of clear. great video
Thank you!
Great tips….i was definitely having issues with the overspray from the non sanding sealers
Learned once again from Paint Society
Thanks for sharing my brother 😊
Brian
Great video!!
Guys if your having problems blending base out buy a walcom spray gun blends out base easy and effortlessly..
Good job 👏
That was a great video
i would love to see a video on just on the best way to use the Festool denibber tool and the tolecut sanding blocks. i picked up the tolecut blocks because of your videos love them. as you know use beginner painters will always have runs and nibs that need removing.
Brian great, video I just wanted to make sure I understood the order of operations. 1) primer over the repair 2) black sealer over the primer and burn throughs 3) CLEAR OVER THE SEALER? 4 ) base color 5) clear again, Thanks for taking the time to make these videos..
It's not clear for step 3, it's blending additive, it's a transparent layer that makes it so you have one complete layer instead of paint just over primer and sealer that leaves a dry edge, the dry edge shows up after it's clear coated and at most shops would be a job do over, blending additive makes it's a smooth wet transition
Excellent techniques. What’s the first thing you did when you decided to run your own operation?
I’m using a Sata Jet 5500 rp I nozzle. I’m running it at 29psi definitely going to try lowering the pressure! It’s a new gun I’m still figuring out, so any recommendations would be appreciated!
Gud vid 💯💥
Greetings Bryan, that clear coat must be very liquid for you to apply it at 22psi I have had that ws400 for more than a year, and I use it at minimum 33 psi with a clear coat hs, if I use less than 30psi, it is too orange peel, I like to know what clear coat you are using to apply it with 22 psi?
Just a quick one Brian ,since u use the dark sealer just thinking can applying black base ,normal.black base will help with blue colors on those repaired area's...
Yes but i had burn throughs and alot of body works on that rear door i felt better sealing but black base will work if not
@@PaintSociety thanks for the update
Nice what psi did you Shot the second coat of Clear with. Have you ever use a lph 300 and what can u tell me about them
Terrible for bigger jobs struggles to keep up def possible good for bumpers
Get u a LPH 400 def a upgrade
Hey Mr. Brian, I’ve got a question that I can’t get a straight answer for.
I’m spraying an Eastwood dtm epoxy primer and it says you can recoat within 4 or 5 days. I sprayed it and was going to go over with a 2k after an hour and a half but it’s still a little tacky so decided I’ll wait 24 hours. My question is do I need to clean the epoxy primed panels when I prime tomorrow or just tack rag it??
Thanks for reading this novel lol.
Would you ever go with 3 coats of clear? Any disadvantage other than cost?
How do you hold the trigger at the middle? Can you just adjust the spray gun fluid knob and take note of how many turns from wide open and/or from full closed. Most spray guns are about 5 turns from full closed to wide open. So there is 5 turns of adjustment.
To get a super flat finish off the fun with no texture would you thin out the clear coat beyond recommended amount and do a third light coat to get the surface to flow?
Hi Brian, I paint cars occasionally, I try to follow all the guidelines but always get runs in clear coat.😳
Use a high solids clear coat but especially don’t spray the first coat too heavy. It’ll act like glue to help stop runs on successive coats.
First coat should be a "tack" coat and make sure you are allowing it to be tacky before recoating
Fluffy the first coat ,like they say apply a thin medium coat and give it a flush off time of about ten minutes then came back with a wet coat bit closer to the panel and a bit slower on the hand
It seems there are many guys named Brian answering your question.
A good rule of thumb is to do the "finger test".👈 Touch the masking tape next to the the panel you are working. If it is stringy wait. If it is tacky and isn't stringy you can apply the next coat!
You have a great show man but i thinks your first coat of clear looks pretty wet question for you what's the right color undercoat for red you a great teacher I've learned a lot
Hey Brian, I had a question about your PS suit/labcoats, are they breathable for someone who does mobile painting outside in 80+ heat/humidity?
Hi Brian. Brilliant video thank you, may I ask the main reason for starting at the bottom fo the vehicle and working up towards the roof thanks again from across the pond.
So you can see your wet edge
So the Clear is clear coat? I get that it smooths out but would the base coat do the same thing?
Love this. Often wonder what’s the best primer color for varying top colors. I’ve seen red, grey, black and white used ? I’m painting Gold, turquoise, maroon and dark Blues. And thoughts ?
Do you know the 7 gray shades used? If not it'll be a bit harder to help you
@@jamessakimae9655 no. 😫
Brian, how can I combat sand piling in my blends? Spraying glasurit 90line.
You may have burn the edge either with rattle can blender or you can spray slow reducer on your edge so it won’t sand pile from the overspray of the edge
What would happen if you mix more reducer than hardener in your clear??
Hi Brian, thanks for the video content. Just a quick question, can a person spray paint over a surface that is just sanded back with 1200 grid water sand paper? No metal is exposed. The old paint is in good condition. Do I need to repaint with primer or can I just go ahead and paint?
Просто крась
Wait a minute so we can spray paint over clear coat as long as it bot dry yet? It's like blinding?
Brian when are you doing a giveaway for that new iwata 😏
Very soon
What is the pressure gauge set at ?
You are amazing man... I learn so much with yours videos... How many psi do you paint??? I use 22 ,20 psi... Is correct??? ALOHA ✌️🇧🇷
For this gun for clear yes
Bud, you are a great teacher. I follow your advice, and my paint jobs are getting better by the day.
Thank you for the excellent work.
Brian i would like to know if i can have that spray gun?
Simple question😐
Brain them little foam sanding blocks and from who? And the sanding paper too please help thank you.
Info on the wonton gun what model ???
Denib blocks and sand paper are made by kovax
Check description
@@PaintSociety do you have direct # too them I can't find it?
Its says “tolecut sanding nibs” in the description
@@PaintSociety how can I get some samples of them blocks and paper brain???
I haven't painted in over 20 years but I am getting back into it. I've been stocking up on stuff lately and spent about 3k so far and I am about to do my first couple of paint jobs. Problem is no shop so I will be doing it outside and cleaning each coat as needed as I go. Thinking of the extra slow reducer so it'll lay out smooth. I am expecting Temps around 78 to 85ish. Any tips on doing it outside?
Wait on a clear day. Stay away from trees. Wet the ground first
@@PaintSociety thank you and great ideas. I donhave a carport and not a lot of trees around so yhay should be good
Tell me, why such a wide material fan. It would seem to me that would create a dry edge. Obviously not. But even so with your 75%lap like you said you do it seemed as though you were doing more then that.
Turned out beautiful. But the main question is on the fan width.
The fan is dialed in 2 1/2 turns from open wide. If you dial in way too much youll create a heavy center
I noticed sometimes when you're painting you start at the bottom and other times you start at the top and work your way down. Do you have a preference? And is there a reason you're doing that? It seems to me if you start at the bottom and work your way up as your painting the paint underneath has a chance to dry a little bit so possibly get less sagging or runs. I've watched many of your videos thank you for sharing
Hi. I always start from the bottom to the top so i can watch the wet edge e
Qual é esse produto transparente q ele aplicou antes da tinta. Alguém co segue me falar.obrigado

Fucking perfect as always great to listen and watch😊
Hey Brian what is clear base?
transparent basecoat
The festool I call the medalin of shame, I pull that out means I got runs
Works great for dirt nibs and has gotten me out of trouble with small runs. Big runs i just respray. Dont waste time
Making it look so easy in every video. 😅
Why did you spray those black lines on the edge of the doors?? Pls tell me I need to know 🥺🥺
Please watch the video
I’m trying to learn and I’m confused why you need to clear over the sealer THEN spray out color
Blending base. Gets rid of dry overspray by making it melt in
@@stevenchesterfield6849 so using the clear literally as a glue to melt into ?
Nice job. The only thing is I have the feeling the paint on the car is redder and the variant applied is greener. Like I said it's just an impression.
Its a great match. We use this color often
Do you always polish your entire job?
Only the dirt nibs
@@PaintSociety oh ok that makes sense.
❤❤❤
Ty my friend !

Beother what gun are you using
Walcom and iwata series 2
Im subscribed to your channel so i basically watch all your videos. But on this paint job i didnt really notice any change in distance or overlap or speed changing. Every coat basically looked the same. Idk.

A million dollar paint booth and you still get nubs!? I guess I am not even gonna bother and just paint mine in the middle of a corn field, f*** it!! 🤣🤣🤣
Dirt and dust happen it's not always avoidable
#hepoops
Carbonaro. 🤣
I did that take 4 times. You get what you get
Hi Brian, I would like you to protect your eyes from the over spray. I see the over spray all around you. I paint and use a full hood so even the noise is reduced, but protect your eyes, this is an entrance to your body. Thank you for all your help in painting.
Usually your passes are clean enough, but you put soo much clear on the lower part of the car compared to the upper part.. go back and watch, you’ll see what I’m seeing.
Video perspective. The lowest part of the car appears smaller on camera but its just as big as the top
Im from uk and dont know what sealer is but want to use it in my jobs. Is sealer just the same as wet on wet primer? To me it looks like it is. Over here in uk there’s no such thing as sealer but it does look like wet on wet primer which can be bought. Over here, it is 1 of 2 things. It is just an actual specific product you can buy, OR, it’s basically just overthinned over reduced high build primer (but that’s not as good as buying an actual wet on wet primer).
