So refreshing to see someone actually punish Fatality's recovery. Most people just don't even go off-stage if Fatality is close to the ledge so that they don't get grabbed by Up-B. Kola gladly gets grabbed, techs that shit, and proceeds to spike Fatality, so satisfying.
Now I have nothing against someone trying to edgeguard Falcon, but saying Tech Checking is satisfying to watch? That baffles me. That's like saying you enjoy watching a disabled person being beaten up.

How in the hell do you "over-extend" for trying to retreat back to ledge after being in disadvantage? Also while I am a Fatality fan, I have nothing against Kola. I have a problem with a broken mechanic that leaves the player helpless. Even if Fatality were to Tech Check someone (which he does to his subs all the time), I wouldn't say "oh man that was hype, great job!" I would still have the same reaction.

@@DefenestrateYourself ?? Tech-checking is a pretty controversial mechanic and the idea that it's an unfair disadvantage to recovery is pretty common.

I mean if you’re playing Roy and not swinging aerials 50% of the time and tilts the other 50% and a random fsmash somewhere in there, you’re not a Roy main
What should he do? He doesn't have a projectile, bury, reflector, teleport, or command grab. His spike is more likely to kill him than his opponent. His grab game is pitiful. Two of his smash attacks are borderline useless. A lot of his tipper hits are punishable ON HIT. All he has is his rushdown, which is great.
he has a smattering of situational but really dumb kill confirms, but you mostly just press buttons. you land an aerial on shield and immediately throw out a tilt or two or maybe a jab and a tilt. they're at 70 ish and you can get them near the ledge? fish for side b of a jab into side b. you can just swing your sword in the general direction of the opponent 24/7 and go for techchase fsmash. if you're really fancy you can wavebouce with side b 1 for positioning mixups so you can get away with pressing even more buttons. tldr: swing your sword, it'll mostly work out.

@@tobyvision You forget he has a good jab that strings into combos and kill confirms. Roy's biggest weakness for me to get around is his struggling ability to fight smaller opponents. If I'm matched against a Pikachu or Olimar I'm automatically worried. He has trouble with those kinds of matchups. Also Mega Man.
@@stormcutter59 don't know for Roy, but for chrom 2 up b's and a fsmash kill olimar and the sword beats out everything he can do if spaced ofc Roy doesn't get much much off tipper so I can see it being harder for him, but pikachu is a nightmare no question

Solid Schnek No, his aerials generally arent Safe on shield since you can’t space them like Lucina or marth. Anyone with good out of shield options can punish most of Roy’s moves on shield

Kola has some of the best recovery I've ever seen. And that goes a long way with Roy, who needs all the recovery help he can get.
This was the most entertaining best-of-ten from Fatality yet. Extremely fun to watch such evenly matched high-level play
There’s something about Roy just eviscerating your stock in a jank way.
Kola forward threw him at 61% and f smash him and killed all because fatality missed a tech. Moments like that is why I play Roy 😂😂😂

@@FlyLittleBuddy Nah, up B never kills as Roy. It's just a good damage tool and probably Roy's best OOS. That said, everything else kills.

@@Endershock1678 rage roy on a platform can kill with grounded upb at surprisingly decent percents, but that's about it. it can kill otherwise, but more as a really risky burst option since even at higher percents it needs rage to kill, which means you're also at risk. it's good oos for damage as you said, and it has the benefit of super armor to go through parried multihits.

The Roy vs. Falcon matchup still seems like an overall loss, but less of one like you said. It seems very dictated by how much the Falcon player has a feel for the Roy player's habits and playstyle. In tournament this MU is probably still -2 unless you're very experienced against the player or are way more skilled than them, but in a Ft5, Ft10 or any sort of deathmatch it's closer to -1.
I honestly don't see Falcon ever being completely even or even + on most of the better sword characters though, they kind of are the embodiment of everything he struggles against. Fast enough to keep up with Falcon but with disjointed hitboxes that take priority over his and outrange them. The game was rigged from the start.
In Roy's case the reverse tipper kinda helps, but just because the outer sword doesn't sweetspot doesn't mean it still doesn't keep Falcon out / beat his attacks so in the end considering Roy's speed and combo damage / general explosiveness.. Roy is kinda Falcon with a sword so in some ways he's doomed to lose that MU.
Falcone short hop neural air is very underrated and the fact that most character start a lot of there combos or strings using it. Use falcons the same way. Well my opinion just pressing jump and attack at the same time while rasndomly running is actually pretty safe as well. Especially when the opponent is hanging on the ledge and your walking away and running with the NAIR back towards the ledge... especially if the opponent is always to short hop of the ledge back on the stage with an attack... I have found it very useful

Just started game 1. Kola is a proven online player. Aside from Leo who is not known for his online play, this should be Fate’s hardest challenge so far.

29:07 : As a wall jump master I was 10/10 thinking he would have gone for the stomp. Wall jump knees and wall jump stomps are my specialty. I don't think I've ever done a wall jump Nair before but maybe he wasn't thinking about it then. I seen the set up and I was thinking here it comes! Then a Nair came out lol unfortunate.

If you're an aerial aggression based char, empty hops look to be one of the big mixups of high level play. Especially if you've conditioned parries then they've basically dropped shield for you
Yep that’s what Falcons do to me cause I main Lucas. They’ll do their scoop up leg kick move which baits me at times then they immediately go to the Falcon kick which is really fast

Quick question. I find I always get input lag on my end, but my opponent seems fine on their end when playing online. Why is this the case sometimes? I can tell they have no issues as they pull off frame perfect tech flawlessly every time, while I get my inputs eaten and SD. Anyone else relate? EDIT: It's not the TV or game mode issue. Happens on a 144hz monitor or game mode on TV.
