Tavarish watching Sreten 😲😍
Cheers, Freddy!
@@illdoyouhere shots fired 💀
Hey @Tavarish you can learn a few things from him, he actually follows through and finishes every single project he starts! lol
Dear Streten, I don't know how it feels on your side of the camera when you're making these videos but on my side it feels like you're directly talking to me personally, that's a great presenting gift you have there. This video was close to my heart having owned a couple or or 3 E21's. Replacement of the exhaust brought back memories and it was so pleasing to see you fit an original dealer part by Boysen giving that glorious sweet sound, lovelyjubbly! It definitely sounded sweeter after the second valve clearance adjustment too! Thank you for all the hard work that must go into filming and editing these videos, for me, this one was the best yet, it felt like you were taking us all along on your journey with you. Very satisfying!!!
That's lovely to hear, thank you!
Agreed. He's talking to me. This channel is really just fantastic, because Streten is inviting us on his journey and we're made to feel like part of the team. It's just a wonderful and rare skill he has. Really well done. I know absolutely less than nothing about car repair, but I am totally hooked, all due to his style.
I'm sorry Hab Som... Sreten is definitely talking to me, and me only... LoL...
(You are spot on... Sreten definitely has a good way of presenting in a very personal way)...
That lady in the background is very entertaining too lol 😝
Personality for television!
This channel is actually my favorite on CZcams, it got everything, humour, skills, passion, happiness, despair, joy it's just fantastic. Not that the competiotion is not there, I watch many good youtube channels but this is without equal, well done!!!
The competition is there, but way behind. There's nothing like this channel.
I’m in hospital recovering from a broken back and compressed spine, I’ve watched every one of your videos start to finish - such an engaging guy and I love your work. It’s kept me sane! Thanks man ✌️✌️
Wish you a speedy recovery!
Drink lots and lots of water and use an inversion table to release the disk spine tension every day you will be new man
Hey, you should be watching videos on how to make a speedy recovery!
Hope you are feeling better bud! God bless you
I was cheering when she started ! My wife told me off ! I had every reason to think that it wasnt going to start, well done my man, this is THE best CZcams channel ever👍
I woke my wife up when it started and idled. Yes she clipped me ears 🤣
No women here to bother me and get angry that I'm having fun watching CZcams...
@@earnestbunbury2103Nothing to be angry in my case. Got wife since 20 years, we know what the other needs to be nice... Sometimes I need Sreten vidéos and after the angel in me is coming back.
Your wife didn't want it to start? What kind of madness does she have??
The only channel on CZcams that can get my attention for more than 5 mins. While everyone is going out and making "shorts", I look forward to these long ones that have been made so painstakingly. Really fantastic!
I agree, the short's are just something youtube is pushing, and I don't watch those at all. You should check out western truck and tractor, great guy who goes into detail, and makes quality video's.
I can’t stand the daily uploads with almost no quality and full of fluff.

Absolutely fantastic video. My 14yr old came into the room asking what i was watching.. he sat and watched with me… he is now watching your channel and asking questions about how cars work because of you. You have more influence and effect than you are aware.
Keep up the excellent work!
This video genuinely made my day, who gets a tear in his eye when the engine comes back to life?.... that´ll be me!
You cemented my love for this channel that you know what only fools and horses is! Sadly Boycie passed away last week so it was fitting that you bought his name up at how far that program spread. Don't ever change Sreten, your channel is among the finest on CZcams and it won't be long before your million subbed!
I love Only Fools and Horses! That's why he was on my mind, so sad he's no longer with us.
greatest british sitcom if i do say so myself
This the only channel where I can sit through a one hour video and it only feels like it’s been 10 minutes. Great work, and what an emotional rollercoaster of an episode; keep it up!
Yeah you're correct, it just flew by like it was 10 minutes!
My dad bought a 323, exactly the same colour like this one, back in 1981, I was 6 years old. We literally almost crossed whole Europe, from north to south, from east to west. We never experienced any trouble with her. She has been very kind with us. Oh man, my dad and I loved her. Then, the year 1989 came and my mom convinced my dad to buy a new car; a more "family friendly" Toyota Camry...
The Camry was a good and reliable car. But she never was able to make my dad and I not to think about the 323.
Thank you very much for awaking this old lady!!!
And never forget; Back in time she was reliable, awesome sounding and a freaking sexy. She deserves to be treated with love.
Thanks for sharing, I enjoyed it very much.
greetings from Switzerland.
I Hope iot was at least a V6 Camry and not the 2.2 3S-FE
I’m so glad I found Sreten’s channel so long ago because watching him finally get the respect and recognition he deserves (all while keeping his videos/style consistent) is a beautiful sight to see!
That was a 57 minutes without any eye blink! Love these stories and all the effort you put into everything you do. Keep it up!!
I TOLD YOU!! I TOLD YOU THE M20 WOULD BE HEALTHY!!
Those scratches in the bore are nothing!
These engines are bombproof, I love them.
Great work getting the old girl running again! You sceptical bastard. 🥰
In the late 70s the engine called M60
@@matthiaskaiser1005 I thought the M20 had always been called the M20 in its production years, and M60 was an early codename that got changed?
edit: Interesting, it seems that the two names were used interchangeably for a while! M20B23KE and M60/5 for this particular engine.
@@BlueXonar trust me M60 is right for the years 77 to 81. With the Destibutor in front of camshaft, they call it M20.
@@matthiaskaiser1005 Oh yeah! I didn't notice the distributor wasn't even there! I bet its quite hard to find parts which are specific to the M60/2 and M60/5...
So glad you’re giving K-Jetronic some love, not many on CZcams who go into that level of detail or are brave enough to attempt the rebuild of a fuel distributor. Like you said it’s not difficult to understand once you get your head around the principles of operation!
The car is now running so healthy.. i can't wait to see how it will look after re-painting and re-sorting the interior, hard to see such wonderful rare cars used on street today ! ;0)
Did anyone else find the car running that smooth kinda emotional? One of my favourite videos
On another note, local stores are way more expensive because their business is having a lot of things ready for you, they charge with every sale the price of having stock of the rest while daparto's business is sending as fast as possible, not instant, and selling a big volume of parts that they can deliver with a few mails. The business scheme is very different

You are definitely "the" master tech for BMW's. I love these older BMW's they were built to a standard which is evident by the fact you can take apart something that has sat for so long, rebuild it and it works

Seriously, this IS the pinnacle of reliability, even hopeless looking parts can be restored, the chassis is IDEAL condition, and as for the engine, im speechless, it is most definitely alive, it somehow rebuilt itself!!!????
"This needs 3 people" *does it by himself* Love it haha
Dear Sreten,
You truly deserve to have more subscribers in your channel than any other youtuber. The secret of your success is that you don't miss any detail and put a ton of time, passion, research and knowledge on what you are doing.
It is really enjoyable and entertaining to watch your videos;

My dog and I high-fived with the first 12bar compression test! Love this channel. As an owner of 1972 and 1974 BMWs, I think your cars are modern! 😉
One of the best episodes! I was jumping for joy when that engine started up!
When I saw those compression numbers I was ecstatic! You really do have a way of making videos that captivates the audience! Great one as always!
It was more exciting than any soccer match i have ever seen😅
One advantage of JETronic injection is… no injector tick, so the engine sounds quieter and smoothers
Very true, sounds much smoother than E30 with L-Jet.
Also as it provides constant fuel flow and linkage between airflow and fuel flow is mechanical - throttle response is so much better.
SO much joy from this video! Nothing like rooting for an abandoned car to come back to life!
This channel deserves atleast 1 million subscribers
"... when things were fixable and not made of cheese". You name my thoughts, Sreten! This was an outstanding job! And an outstanding video, too. Althougt me beeing an Automotive Engineer, you teach me not to be afraid of a 12-cylinder or a K-Jetronic fuel distributor that has been rotting for 25 years. Keep it up!
Car is now running so healthy.. i can't wait to see how it will look after re-painting and re-sorting the interior, hard to see such wonderful rare cars on street today ! ;0)
I own 323i e30 with m20b23 L-Jetronic. Tears rolled out of my eyes when you've sorted this engine up.
12 bar in 6-th cylinder bursted me in tears :)
I like that you clean everything before working, assembling or mounting back.
This is my favourite video yet, your videos are becoming more fun to watch. I love the repeating jokes that make me smile every time. Carbon fibre towels, ‘Cheers’ when you pour a beverage into the engine etc etc! Thank you!
That was the best episode i've seen on whole yt. Thank you man. You remember of me at 16, repairing my fathers dacia 1300 in front of the house. Love you. Love your content. I wish i can be your trainee.
Reminds me of my first experience with working on cars about 7 years ago.. 1984 golf gti, with the devil's injeciton system.. tried to get it running with starter fluid and blew the whole intake. That scared the hell outta me and kinda didnt want to work into cars anymore.. but I studied the kjet system, took good care of it, and saved up for parts with my college money (hell they are expensive) and now that golf is my daily driver :) I wish we had filmed the whole project and all its up and downs..
The woman of this dude never gonna be worried where he is during the day or weekends. Thank you Sreten for doing it! Your channel is gonna explode even more! I'm with you on this journey!
Hi Sreten,
@ 48.15 you mentioned not being able to do a video every week.....
Well, personally (and I reckon I'm speaking for others), I don't mind if you take longer to make a vid. Especially if it means you get the correct parts or have the originals cleaned, maybe powder coated etc....
Your stuff is well worth waiting for! 👍
A suggestion now you have had the tank cleaned and the fuel system apart, change the fuel filter again, there was so much dirt and varnish in the system 👍
Oh, definitely, have a spare one just for that.
Hi Sreten, i had to laugh out loud when you pulled the Lucas part from the alternator! As a restorer of classic British motorcycles, i know 1 thing after more than 30 years experience: Joseph Lucas is 'the Prince of Darkness' LOL
The 3 positions of any Lucas system… 1. Dim 2. Flicker and 3. Off 😂

Happy, happy days! Well done Dr Sreten. You have brought the dead back to life, again. It's great seeing it doing what cars should do. This is going to be a great project and I am really looking forward to see how you progress from here. Hopefully this isn't the only good news to come for it.
Just finished watching. Going to order some merch now. Because halfway in to the video I started feeling guilty that I'm watching this for free.
From a time when companies built things that could be fixed and not just replaced. Great video.
Perfect balance between comedy and true engineering knowledge. Great stuff, Sreten!
Exactly, and it's also nice to see that at the same time so many people prefer this type of automotive entertainment on yt.
GET IN THERE SRETEN!! You EARNED this! You OWNED this!
Dude, what an accomplishment! You are the Dr. Frankenstein of BMWs.
I was a BMW Mechanic for 7 years before I studied engineering. I believe the piston rings were stuck in their grooves from rust, varnish and carbon. A combination of oil, heat, vibration and combustion pressure from running allowed them to free-up and engage the cylinder walls again. I have actually disassembled a 1971 3.0 CS with this problem. The repair was performed in-car. We dropped the oil pan and removed the head, removed and cleaned the pistons, replaced the rings, gently honed the cylinders and replaced the bearings. The car ran just as well as your 323i, and was a joy to drive.
I have seen this before on engines that have sat for decades, but the end result is usually not this good. I am impressed!
As another viewer already wrote about the previous video: When the engine has reached operating temperature, the piston rings seal properly again.
The piston rings were in an undefined state when the engine was last running and in this state the piston ring was also shifted on one side in the guide and "stuck" there due to the long service life. So you had a bad compression value.
I was so happy with you when the engine ran on its own for the first time. As if I was standing next to you
Please keep it up, because you do excel.
greetings from Munich
Incredible video. I saw one of these at my mechanics place today and he was amazed to see the work you have done when I briefly showed him some videos. He used to be on the BMW DTM team in the 80s!
My man, even restoring JetTronic fuel systems. What a hero!
You make me want to lift up the hood, grab a tool and fix something.

You are the Steven Spielberg of car repair videos! Immensely enjoyable experience. What is the psychological effect that makes these "back from the dead" repair jobs so satisfying to watch?
Sreten Spielberg 😄
instant like at the start of the video.
did not regret that at the end of the video.
haha me too!
I so enjoy these videos! I used to work on cars for a living and miss it a bit. But watching Sreten do his magic brings a smile to my face always. Next time I'm home in Germany I will visit some how.
This episode just made me happy, its as if the car was waiting for the right person to save it, and it looks like you passed its backgound checks. Now I cant wait for the rest of the restoration journey. Awesome!
I want to see the complete cleaning part of the car. That's gonna be soooo satisfying.
Great work Sreten!! That engine is unkillable! ✌️
And today I solved an issue on my '02 E39 525d Touring, I had the PCV valve/filter clogged (common "issue" on the M57 platform, the filter needs to be replaced at every service) and because of that I had a ton of blow-by from the oil cap, an external oil leak from the turbo, tons of smoke from the exhaust on "pedal to the metal" mode (🤣) and a lack of performance on low revs.
Replaced that stupid contraption with a new filter/housing and now it's all good and it's like a completely different car 🥳 so happy 😁
Man, when you finally managed to make the engine start, that sound was so good. Those engines were properly made. I let a 40 thousand km car like that pass a few years ago, and I will always regret it.
I TOLD YOU ALEMÁN LOCO! Compression will improve after running the engine for some time! and It did!! Great program, thanks for taking the time to restore these amazing BMW crazy difficult cars.

Whats up Sreten Please bring back the interior detail and the 90s music. I know things been crazy busy and there are many projects at once but that was one of my favorite parts of your videos. Love what you do. My uncle had a E30 and when I saw it I was taken back to my childhood. Thank You for what you do.
The fit of the plunger is so tight because it relies on it to give a fuel tight seal. It only sees control pressure but that is still over 40 psi which is pretty impressive. K Jet is a work of art from a manufacturing tolerance perspective.
