I love your honesty sis. I myself as a man have experienced hurt and i have definitely caused hurt and I have decided I'm not gonna do that to anyone intentionally anymore. I try to not judge women on my past experiences and I'm at a point where I just want to enjoy life. As you get older and friends and family start to pass on you realize how short life really is. I too collect cars and i have three classic cars. I try to put my time into my hobby because I'm gonna be honest i really like women. I don't drink. I don't smoke. My vice is women. i once had a 5 woman rotation. One woman she and i would literally make love for 2 hours straight. Now I just focus on my career which I'm on the trajectory to pay my home off before I'm 50. As a former travel consultant who now works from home i want to get back on the road and see the world. i also have a jeep wrangler and have been invited to join jeep clubs.
As a 46 year old man I have dealt with these types of women she is talking about. I never wanted a women more than 5 or 6 years younger but now I would rather deal with someone in their early 30's because they're not as jaded about men and life as much as an older woman.

I am coming out of something with someone older and there are a myriad of complexities to these kind of relationships. I think we still love each other but it eventually crashed and we're probably better off apart. But your closing point about said older women and their outer appearance vs their inner-selves really hit me. There are a lot of those here in the DMV. The assumption is that said older woman will be WISER and more MATURE when you meet them, but that isn't necessarily the case and sometimes things play out where you it seems you're dealing with a 20 year old.

You are correct. These are not really secrets, but it does spark an interesting dialogue. I like your reference to cars, because men’s preferences are quite similar in what is seen as desirable in both. If an older car is being considered, a classic is preferred and it should be in good condition inside and out, with very low miles. What men view as a classic will vary and most are understandably not willing to restore and or refurbish a beat up hooptie when (a) newer model(s) with less issues are readily available. Most are not skilled with bodywork tools and/or have the mechanical skills required as well as the patience to take on a project. Interpret these words as you deem necessary, but it makes no sense to debate sound logic. It is what it is.

Well said. If one person has baggage and gets involved in a relationship with another person with baggage , then what is the point or benefit of it? Maybe stay single or find someone with no baggage. In this day and time, everyone seems to have baggage and it applies to both young and older people as well. If a person can't see beyond themselves, maybe its best to remain single. We can't live in the past forever though, because life is short. Some people get set in their ways also, and if others can't accept your set ways then there is no relationship potential there. I think for anyone, you have to leave the past in the past to move forward for yourself or with anyone else.
I've always wondered, why a woman would rather be alone than work things out with their childs father or shoot the dice with another random man. I am not single and met my wife when I was 35 and she was 38. She didn't have a lot of baggage so I didn't notice it. And she had no interest in kids either (neither really was I). So it worked. But knowing what I know now, I got lucky in what I had. My generation's women tended to have more unicorns among them too. I knew a woman who expected me to accept her relationship with her ex husband and in laws? Always using the kids as an excuse. What I mean by that is, her ex husband can be present at any of her family gatherings at any given time. I think after hearing this, i can see why older people may seek a relationship with a younger person. I guess some older people can't overcome the pain of the past. I don't agree with all of the peak or prime times of each person, it varies from person to person. Your state of health can affect your peak or prime as well. I dont want to live in the past forever, or be with someone living in the past. If i meet someone new, i have nothing to do with their past. As i get older, i notice more people i grew up with who are set in their ways now. When you are set in your ways, you limit yourself as to what you can do or how you go about resolving problems in your life. Well I only clicked on the video because I wanted to understand my wife’s current mind set as she is in that 50 range and me in my late 40s . You are correct. These are not really secrets, but it does spark an interesting dialogue. I like your reference to cars, because men’s preferences are quite similar in what is seen as desirable in both. If an older car is being considered, a classic is preferred and it should be in good condition inside and out, with very low miles. What men view as a classic will vary and most are understandably not willing to restore and or refurbish a beat up hooptie when (a) newer model(s) with less issues are readily available. Most are not skilled with bodywork tools and/or have the mechanical skills required as well as the patience to take on a project. Interpret these words as you deem necessary, but it makes no sense to debate sound logic. It is what it is.

I wouldn’t expect women to comment on these secrets being exposed. They either have to admit or deny having baggage or a sneaky link. Well said. If one person has baggage and gets involved in a relationship with another person with baggage , then what is the point or benefit of it? Maybe stay single or find someone with no baggage. In this day and time, everyone seems to have baggage and it applies to both young and older people as well. If a person can't see beyond themselves, maybe its best to remain single. We can't live in the past forever though, because life is short. Some people get set in their ways also, and if others can't accept your set ways then there is no relationship potential there. I think for anyone, you have to leave the past in the past to move forward for yourself or with anyone else.

I've always wondered, why a woman would rather be alone than work things out with their childs father or shoot the dice with another random man. Most men I know and who I see interviewed on these podcasts say, that their woman left them and took kids due to lack finances or lack of "ambition" in the man. Which is superficial at best. Especially if women say we get out worth/peak later in life. All things could be solved if women just truck through the struggles of growth and boredom. In my opinion.
I agree! A lot of people have one foot out the door (I know I’m guilty of this, too). If we committed to stick it out, the outcomes could be much better.

Just to add, us middle aged women may have a lot of baggage. However, we are strong. Some are happily married. Some are happily single, and some are happily single-single while pressing on to making LIFE worth living!! Its a daily effort and we are doing it!! This is what I know and I believe. That’s why it’s a secret. One foot out the door just in case someone better comes along. I can’t speak for every woman but from my experience, I chose to stay with the guy I didn’t see a future with because I wasn’t interested in a serious relationship at the time. I am not single and met my wife when I was 35 and she was 38. She didn't have a lot of baggage so I didn't notice it. And she had no interest in kids either (neither really was I). So it worked. But knowing what I know now, I got lucky in what I had. My generation's women tended to have more unicorns among them too. Now....women in their 40's seem to be just crazy....and while I find them attractive, I would be thinking "Recreational use only". A lot of them are just plain nuts

Older men will always mentor younger men..it’s almost like a rite of passage. Older women see younger women as competition. Younger women need to date older men. It takes men seasoning. Men have to go through it as a young man (builds character) women shouldn’t wait to long (trauma) creates baggage and lack of trust.

im 55 God just Blessed me to crossroads w a sophisticated independent classy (WIFEY material) woman she's 42. We've exchanged friendship boundaries w skies the limit, however we're both ARIES & have to Respect that she's 24/7 non stop busy. She has 2 kids , teenager and young adult residing with her.
I'm early retired laid back strictly independent and allow her space to establish our foundation with respect to her, 1. prior hurt 2. her maintaining her survival mode 3. her hesitant curiosity to our newness.

I like how REAL you kept this topic. I have a question, how does a man deal with a middle aged woman who refuses to give up her past? I knew a woman who expected me to accept her relationship with her ex husband and in laws? Always using the kids as an excuse. What I mean by that is, her ex husband can be present at any of her family gatherings at any given time. Also being told, I expect you to go to my ex husbands cousin's wedding, that is my family!!!!! etc etc etc Other then walking away which is what I did, is there anything that could have been said to tell her or any person- if you carry your past with you, it can and will hurt your future. This is another form of baggage I feel.

I think after hearing this, i can see why older people may seek a relationship with a younger person. I guess some older people can't overcome the pain of the past. I don't agree with all of the peak or prime times of each person, it varies from person to person. Your state of health can affect your peak or prime as well. I dont want to live in the past forever, or be with someone living in the past. If i meet someone new, i have nothing to do with their past. As i get older, i notice more people i grew up with who are set in their ways now. When you are set in your ways, you limit yourself as to what you can do or how you go about resolving problems in your life. You gotta keep an open mind, and try new things or seek new ways to solve problems in your life or you will be left behind and lonely.

Nice message, especially your point about younger woman, older man as that also seems the most natural to me, but is so frowned upon in the West. This point is in fact why I will probably re-locate to Southeast Asia since as a young retired 60+ year old man, since I'm looking for someone about 20 years my junior, and would prefer not be considered a creep, as this is welcomed in other cultures. Imagine if we had access to this type of information in our 20's! I've learned more in the last year than at any point in my life and that's saying alot. Statistics show that 80% of ending relationships are initiated by women. There seems to be this double standard of men having to emotionally’suck it up’ while women are afforded the option of having men that want to get involved with them of helping them heal with their baggage.
