Lucky escape! A good argument for having a battery cutoff switch, and fire extinguisher on board.
As soon as Mucker smiled, I knew what he'd seen !!!. Common fitment on many machines in the 70's / 80's. Well done to both of you for acting so quickly, FW's are rare enough, dont want to lose another one. Definitely needs a rewire to tidy her up and a Firestick in the cab for safety.
I know you pair like to have a laugh but when the chips are down Mucka is cool and calm straight in to action. Nice job you two good save 👍👍
Everything's alright.Lord Muck saves the day🚜🔥🧯👍
With a little help from George's Guardian Angel 🛐
I remember the roar of that tw on the baler years ago what a machine, what a journey she’s had in your hands.
Hopefully the FW rewiring is easy enough. Swift acting by you both legends
Yeah the wiring isn't complicated on one of these, it'll be right as rain soon enough 👍
Hi George That was close Nice Buy Darren Have a good week Thanks again
Lucky enough George, not too much damage. Mucker playing a blinder . Your all ok . The TW has gone to a good home . Well done George 👍 🔧 🚜
Jeepers George, thank goodness you were there as could have gone up in the night. Easy to repair, the wiring is simple on the old girls, no fancy Ecu and canbus 👍
Yeah I'll go all through the wiring, like you say no crappy ECU's and witchcraft also known as canbus
At least no one can accuse you of staging it for content as anything involving mucka having to run can't have been pre planned🤷♂️🤣🤣 probably best to keep battery disconnected when not in use until you've managed to check everything. Certainly a Lovely bit of kit👌👍
If it was planned I'd have had a Gator conveniently nearby...
Nothing runs like a DEERE👍
You were soon puffing well!
I had something similar happen on an old nuffield when I was about 15. I'd rewired it with new spade connectors. The one in the head lamp came loose and shorted out in the headlamp bowl.
I was doing a long reverse when it failed so didn't see it until I looked around and saw the trail of smoke. When I looked a bit lower I saw it had caught fire just below the fuel tank.
Luckily no great harm done.
"Don't panic, don't panic" that was so sketchy! Can't believe how fast it can happen glad Mucker caught all the action its always a good day when you two are together. Nice to see the TW25 has gone to a good home, expect we will still see her from time to time.
Yes Darren will take good care of her and I'll be able to take her for a spin as and when 👍
22:40 someone had to time capture that smile 😂😂😂😂😂
That is not a day or series of events either of you will forget in a hurry that's for sure! Well done both of you for turning a potential real drama in to a total catastrophe, especially for George.
You was very lucky that you was in the tractor when the "short" occurred George, as you pointed out the solenoid had shorted out and it looks like the circuit to the solenoid was not fitted with a fuse. All worked out ok thanks to Lord Muck 's quick thinking. A good Video and Lord Muck. Hi from Australia.
Cheers buh, yeah if it's going to happen that is the best way when you're in it and able to sort it out, it won't be doing that again
Very glad the damage is minimal and you all are OK
Cheers Jan 👍
Close shave there George. Great you had a good camera man there whoever he is 😂.
Lucky escape there George good job Lord Muck save the day 👍👍👍
Great Video George, I thought there was enough drama on your channel without burning the Toys, thanks for sharing
Don't need that again Tony!
Well done lads for keeping calm and save her 👏 👍
Great job George, Kurt and Darren, close call, very well done Sir's👍🙏🙏😎
That was a lucky one George, great work Mucka. I saw those fire sticks. Would have been ideal in the situation. Definitely a heart pounding occurrence for both of you.
When mucka saw the bill Cosby in a can 😂😂😂
He was so happy 🤣
Good Evening George, That was a close one that is not the type of heater you want, let’s hope that doesn’t happen again, Great video take care of yourself and stay safe.🚜🚜⭐️⭐️👍👍
Brilliant video!
Total thinking on your feet there, quick thinking saved the day also showing what went wrong and finding the cause and a temporary solution to move the FW out of the middle of the yard.
10/10 warts n all vloging 👌👌
Cool heads. Cracking vid. Enjoy sorting out the gremlins, it'll really be yours then. What a machine!
I thought you had stalled it George! 🤣🔥🔥🔥🔥
Looking forward to seeing your tackle rat's nest of wiring! lol I didn't realise how forward thinking Ford were with that automatic wiper feature! 🤣🤣🤣🤣
Well at least we got the full action and glad it lives again!
Baptism of fire mate bloody hell!! Welcome to the fleet coming in hot 🔥 you and mucker got the fire stopped thankfully….it’s good that you could have a giggle about it afterwards
Haha yes definitely! I knew the wiring needed tidying up but I wasn't expecting to have to sort it out that quickly!
Glad no one was injured - hope you get it sorted!
Scary stuff George, love that new tractor.
Love the bit Now the Radio won’t work You gotta be lucky once in a while Alls well that ends well
Nice to see the TW is staying “in the family”👌👍. I reckon the FW is now well and truly christened 😆🤦♂. Must admit, after the fire wow’s you had in the fields (and a few mates burning down tractors/balers) I’ve stuck extinguishers in all mine😬… think I’ll put a cutoff switch in as well after that!
Definitely a cut off switch is at the top of the list next to an extinguisher, just didn't expect to need one quite so quickly 🙈
Great video, could have been a lot worse, action man Mucker, love the banter and humour between the both of you
He is definitely a man of action 👌
Hello George that was a lucky escape I remember when the TW came and you had it on the fiatagri baler she was working then keep up the good work look forward to the next video 👍👍
That was a close call ! Glad
You saved it. That 30 is an awesome tractor !
Love how mucka noticed the canned cosby😂👌
He was loving it 👌👌👌
Got to love Mucker legging it to get those action shots, bless him!! always a great vid with you two, brilliant stuff. think a good re-wire is def in order though!!! Keep up the great work.
Bloody god job you weren’t in the field mate😮👍👍
Aye, lucky it went when it did 👍
@@GeorgeSaunders you are not wrong . All the best mate . Regards👍👍
That was a lucky escape George. Good job mucker was on hand with the fire extinguisher if needed.
I remember years ago in the 80s a Steiger Bearcat doing the same thing one harvest. The only thing was no one saw it as quick as you. Half the cab the bonnet and the right hand side 4 tyres went up. luckily the fire was put out and after a few repairs it was back working a week later.
Lucky it was useable again so quickly after the damage! Definitely could have been worse. This is what happens when farmers do some electrics to get the tractor going after a break down but don't really know what they're doing, it'll all be put right
Yeah perspex windows, foam padding, gaffer tape, white spray paint, second hand tyres and a farmer rewire got it going again!! Lol!! It did get the full works as in the winter though.
Looking forward to your FW videos 👍 🚜
Glad its safe mate , what a disaster it would have been , you guys are great and cant wait to see some more footage when she is working
Hi George shame you have to have the wiper on to run the engine you will get through a lot of blades 😂
Scary George good job mucker was on the ball hope not to much damage to FW
👍🚜😕
Bloody hell George that was close... Take care sir....
Too close for comfort Kev
Wow lucky there George!!!!
holy moly that was a close one it went so quick
Hi George, Nice video of the two side by side !! That’s a Bloody tidy TW and a tidy FW you was so lucky you was there and Mucker running for the extinguisher 🧯 !! That could have easily been a big disaster !! You’ll have to get all the wiring checked out and it will give you peace of mind !! Great video !! 👍🏻👍🏻
Cheers Richard, yes I'll be going through all the wiring to make sure that doesn't again 👍
Always carry a fire extinguisher with my tractor and that's why George 👍
Good to see the Tw go to a good home 👍
Good save gents. 👍👍👍👍👍👍
Lucky escape! It need some love and attention :)
Great video,
Hi George, That's a good reason for a battery cut-off switch. I wasn't so lucky with my 7610 ended up with a fire melted wiring and no way of disconnecting the battery in time to stop a major fire. We managed to save the tractor with many many buckets of water. But a major rebuild and respray needed
It's such a bugger mate, I got lucky with this one👍
That made my arse go .
I'm glad all is well now .
we fit marine cut-out switches to most things now they are expensive but the best quality you can get and last forever with no issues especially how expensive battery's are now
Well done lads.
That's the TW Setting it's karma on you already with the fw george haha but no a tractor fire fairly gets the heart racing glad it's a close friend of yours thay bought the TW Means she's still close to home
lol just for insurance purposes! Isn’t that what you said at the beginning wow close call. Way to freaking close
Not the insurance purpose we were thinking it might be!
Definitely going to regret letting the old TW go.. always enjoyed watching your tw content.
it's surprising how many tractors go up in smoke every year........i had a David Brown 1390 burn out years ago that was something to do with the starter motor like all old tractors there was diesel and oil and bits of hay & straw everywhere and once it got going there was no stopping it.........to be honest though it was the best thing that ever happened to the bloody thing
It's a surprising amount of old and new machines that have a thermal event
26:54 great content again just unfortunate of the little fire at least you were right location at the right time
So glad you're all ok, I had flashbacks to a similar event that happened to me, the wiring for the sprayer control box the boss fitted in the zetor 9540 started smoking, I was on grain carting duty waiting for the combine and the cab filled with smoke, key off open door and get out, fortunately that stopped it. I phoned the boss and he told me where to disconnect it, i was on work placement from collage, only been there about a year.
It's definitely scary and gets the heart racing, especially on a machine you're not used to 👍
Death by fire or death by water 😂😂😂😂😂
Dam that was a close one George but at least now it's brought the wires and electrics to your attention, thank god it never happened in one of your field's away from an extinguisher.
That's scary lucky you spotted it quick
Gutted for you george, its always a stressful time collecting a tractor - that could have been far worse
ATB
Dave
All's well that ends well but close, just trying to work out wether that geyser in the video was Mucker or Dangerous Dave as when he's not there nothing out of the normal happens. Stay Safe.
That 4 wheel drive Ford tractor has such a beautiful color scheme.
Them ford fw's are getting how rare to find now theirs a fella over here in ireland he did up a fw 60 ford saw it at a silage work day some yoke and sound off her
Good ones are even harder to find👍
I know I said I preferred the TDub George but didn't think you'd go an set the FW on fire 🔥😳 joking aside that was a lucky break it happened when it did and you had Mucka there as the fire tender 🙄😂 I'm sure you'll have that wiring sorted out quick and perhaps as an extra safety measure a battery isolator fitted 👍
Definitely an isolator going on there, it amazes me they don't already have them, the TW was the same
Its been decades since ive heard the term "Atlantic252" memory overload. Glad the fire didn't take hold!
23:27 peg leg approved
Had our FW 60 on fire couple times Main hydraulic pump hose pulled apart on rough ground as engine rocked and covered exhaust in oil always kept an extinguisher onboard afterwards.
A lucky escape, George. Bet you where sh*tting it. 😱👍
Scary stuff, hate seeing that all too often. Glad it turned out okat.
I bet you could butter a slice of bread with that telehandler.
great vid , very emotional.
suggestion , fit a earth lead isolator.
Fancy driving putting those weights on.
Funny you should mention Atlantic 252, I was just reading that the mast was taken down last july
That was a close call George 😅. I bet you felt like taking the TW .back home again . Deal was off. Lol .
Know how you feel... almost lost my deutz dx7.10 to bad wiring.
That could have been catastrophic but thankfully not. Let this video serve as a reminder to us all to get fire extinguishers for all our old vehicles. If I was you George I would be buying an extinguisher and mounting it in the cab because it is scary how fast things can happen.
Hallo george good luck with the fw30 and lord muck with tw25.lord muck her friend and you are a very good lucky Team
There is a thumb screw on the fuel shutoff solenoid. You can run the engine with no power on at all.
Before you mentioned the manual setting on the pump , I was wondering if it had the same. I drove Ford Louisville road tractors with 230 Cummings diesel engines in the 1970's. They had the manual setting on pump.
Still getting to know the tractor, so didn't initially realise that it had a manual override, when something like that happens you have a good reason to dive into the machine and find out what does what 👍
Shit happens is right lads. Well done in keeping the cool. Better now than later.
Is this your first 4 wheel drive.
Yes first artic tractor, just had the Ford TW25 and JCB Fastrac up to now
Wow that was a great save, you must have asbestos fingers. She lives to fight another day, maybe time to fit a battery isolator while you’re at it.
Yes one of the first jobs, it surprises me they haven't already got one on there 👍
Fancy thr FW being born addicted!
Ol bill cosby under the hood!
👌👌👌
I think you could do with an engineer to put a new wiring loom in George because at the moment it looks like the forces network.
The tw were the best tractors ever made the horsepower wasnt massive but they had some pulling power i remember i worked for a man he had county 1464 she was pulling a 10 sod revervisible today you would need a 400 or 500 horsepower tractor there too soft now tractors georges video brillant
No comparison to modern horsepower 💪
That Range Rover Sport looks in very good order, what year is it?
I bought a new to me 570+ Montana and my old 470 was to go from Northumberland to Exeter we loaded it onto the wagon and the driver said is somebody having a bonfire. Turns out the 470 was on fire on top of the axle. Little bit frantic to put it out. Got it all put out but apparently it started up on the motorway on the way down.
Blimey, that's not good, it wouldn't have even been hot from working 👍
Hey, I thought it was just our Fastracs that caught fire 😂
When I told Liz I'd had a fire she automatically thought it was the Fastrac 😂😂😂
Fuck, fuck, fuck. That was close. Suppose if the worst came to the worst you could of loaded the TW back up and done one...😀. Fair play to the camera man for hanging on in there...👍
I'll be able to play with the TW when I fancy 👌😳
Was just thinking I wonder if George will be announcing a new partnership either Fire Safety Sticks or Walls Sausages being cooked on the tractor
Was that bad luck or hellish good luck?
❤
Lucky escape lads i was once in a similar situation with something nowhere near the same value. i saved it by smashing the battery terminal off with a adjustable hammer.
Good save for the cost of a battery 👍
So, it pays to always keep a cool head.
Bloody hell George that was too close for comfort mate
Tell me about it Ken 👍
Just be the TW going to the show then 😂. Hope all ok all joking aside.
That's the FW's new nickname "Smokey""
