Thank you for a great review, gonna find out about the extra weight put on the monitor very soon, that could be a deal breaker. Does any one else having a problem with this extra weight on their screen? Thank you!
I’m still using this same case and it’s held up great. The weight hasn’t been an issue like I thought. The screen is basically unusable when you shut it far enough that the weight to push it down. Other wise any normal viewing position it has never been a problem for me. I still like it after all this time!

I bought the case in February of ‘22. It has been installed ever since. It has come off maybe 3-4 times for cleaning. It has held up very well for the price. It took one hit sliding off the seat of my truck to the dash and then floor board on a hard stop. The lid cover took the hit and then popped off. No damage to either the MacBook or case. Just snapped it back on.
I have bought this case for my new Macbook Pro in the last couple of weeks and overall I'm very happy with it. However, in the last few days I spotted some forum posts recommending against casing MacBooks at all. They said cases could put pressure on the display half, weaken the hinge, and stifle the cooling mechanisms. Do you think this is true? Should I need to worry for my Mac if I plan to use the Supcase for many more years? I really don't know if it's true or fake and how does the Supcase fit in to these comments... Will be grateful for your opinions.
I am still using this case. My initial concern was the weight it added to the screen. After 2 years and counting I have never had an issue with the hinges or the screen. I believe improper installation or removal may be a contributing factor for the screen damage.
Cooling has never been an issue for me. It is rare that I stress the MacBook Pro 14” base model enough to get hot. While
I see the case may insulate the shell of the laptop from being able to shed some heat. The primary cooling vents are still fully open and can function.
Ultimately I think it can be an issue under very stressful work loads, but not the everyday user.
I feel over the last two years using this case it has done more good in protection, than harm.

Do you think that the Mac with the Subcase would fit into a sleeve dedicated for a Macbook Pro 14 or can it be to big for that? I would rather know this before making the purchase.
I've also had this case for about 2 or 3 months...but I find it heavy...It makes my MBP feel very thick and heavy...drives me nuts!

I still use and carry this laptop daily with the case on it, I have pulled it off a few times to clean it and I have not seen any hinge damage. It does not interfere with the hinges from what I can see.

Is the extra added weight really noticeable in everyday use? The macbook alone is already 3.5 lbs and I don’t want to carry around a tank all day haha
To me the extra weight is not noticeable, it makes the laptop slight more bulky but not in a bad way, any of the sleeves I put it in to move it around, still work just fine. I just like knowing it’s protected from minor damages because the apple case feels like it would be damaged easily

Does this deal with the obnoxiously sharp edges on the bottom of the trackpad?
I've never noticed any sharp edges, so maybe.
I’ve heard cases are bending the screen. can you check if the edges of the screen are being bent upwards and reply to me please
I have not heard of this issue, nor do I have it happening to me. I can see how easily it would be to damage a screen or edge of the screen if a person was not careful installing or removing the case, but you would have to really put a lot force onto the screen to do so.
Malcom, Are the feet "grippy" rubber or are they slippery hard plastic?
They are a hard plastic which will slip on a wood desk surface when pushed. I have never had it move while typing or using the laptop.

Not at all for me. The only time my MacBook 14 pro base model gets warm to the touch is when I am doing a 4k video over an hour long while rendering. But all the cooling ports are fully vented on this case.

Can you easily detach the case without scratching the Macbook pro?
Yes, never been worried about scratching it when I take it off to clean

Yes it does, no interference in its operation

Yes I really like it, keeps the laptop secure and I still use it daily.
do you think you it was worth purchasing this case in regards to drop protection?
I am sure it would help but nothing about this case really shows me any confidence that it would protect the laptop from a spill. Unfortunately I can’t afford to put mine on the line to test its drop protection. I personally would not trust it in a fall.
