This Unicorn Beetle case by Supcase is definitely the best case that I've found for the MacBook Pro M1 Max 2021. In fact, I started the video off with the opinion that I'm still searching for the best case for the MacBook Pro. However, during the unboxing and installation, I seen all I needed to know that I won't bother looking at other cases as this one is the best.
It's just a pity about feet but maybe Supcase will do something about that. If so, I will definitely get one and that will not only be the best for the Mac but at that point I'd be prepared to say that it would be the perfect case for the M1 Max MacBook Pro.
The one I used if for the 16 inch M1 Max MacBook Pro, although, there is another one that fits the 14" M1 Max and M1 Pro MacBook Pro.

Awesome review David and thank you for the links to it - i will purchase the case and Im thinking of purchasing that little table thing so can use it in bed or anywhere - Im going to try and find some rubber stick-on-feet for the case so it stops it securely on a table. Awesome video! I bought the red variant for my 16" M1 Pro MBP in April and the feet are rubber so no movement on tables, Supcase may have changed them after you got yours

Alright Tone. I’ve been messing with it since putting it on and it’s just great. Aside from the feet and you have to bear in mind that the feet on the Mac itself also don’t have any rubber grip, the case is just awesome. While nothing is gonna protect a laptop if it gets dropped from a height, this case will defo give you good edge protection if you get slight bumps and it will also keep the lid and bottom in great condition which really helps when you come to sell. And yes, as you’ve said, if you’re paying stupid money for a laptop, Mac or Windows, you should really protect it as best as possible. If there were a case out there that cost more and was better, I would get it as protection is a big deal for me but from what I’ve seem, this is about the best so far. BTW, I screwed up on my order for the new iPhone SE and didn’t actually pay for it when I was ordering it. I must have zoned out when looking at it on the Apple site and thought they were giving it away for free 😆 Anyway, I’ve got to get up early and get down to the Apple store in our city centre and see if they have any. I bet there’ll be big mad long queues that I’ll have to stand in just to find out that they don’t have any 😆. I’m also gonna be sick as f..k if I see the new Mac Studio. I actually wanted a desktop when I bought this MacBook but there was nothing with the Mac chip in it other than the MacBook when I got it. Saying that, I’ve gotten really used to using the MacBook as a desktop and even use the screen more than my external monitors, that stand I’ve got in the video really does help for using the MacBook on my table. I can’t normally use laptops on a table top because I get neck strain. Anyway, I just hope the Apple store have got the SE in stock. Cheers, Dave.

My biggest concern is when you remove it back does it leave any scratch marks or small dent on the body of Macbook ?
I am contemplating this case or the Urban Armor Gear Plyo case. Have you seen the UAG Plyo case and if so, which would you recommend? I am purchasing a new Macbook Pro 14" on Boxing Day so I'm getting all my accessories ready.

I bought the same model, but transparent, it should be noted that it is a heavy case, it adds a lot of weight, I returned it for the same reason, we know that if a MacBook of that size is dropped, the blow could affect internally, so I prefer take care of it, I'm going to buy a thinner one, I don't think it will occupy more.
For some odd reason the right side of the bottom part of the case won't snap onto my MacBook Pro 16 and stay in place. Potential defect??

the legs... yes the legs have plastic frames however they do have rubber inserts.. bottom line is that it is not slippery.
Is there that case for 13 inch
So I'm on the fence about getting this case but my one concern is whether it impedes closing completely which can lead to screen damage (like often happens with those webcam covers). When my MacBook is closed there is zero gap or clearance for any tabs/clips to be holding the screen - how does this work exactly?
I have not found a hard shell case that can guarantee there will be no damage to the screen. After I bought my 16" MBP, I didn't even unbox it until I received a hard shell case. But doing some research led me to believe that any case can potentially lead to screen damage. The recommendation from numerous sites is no hard shell case, no keyboard cover, no screen protector, no wrist pad or trackpad covers. Use a sleeve instead or to prevent scratches, use a skin since it won't interfere with closing the lid

What exactly do you mean by screen "damage"? Like scratches or dents in the screen or something that happens to the screen's electronics?
I ask because the screen to my 2017 MacBook Pro fried for no apparent reason...but I did have a hard-edged case on it for nearly the entire time I owned it.

Does the case offer protection for the keyboard while in cross body bags or backpacks. Often the macs get compressed in bags and can have screen/keyboard issues. Looking for a case that will prevent this issue
Hi Scott. It's a nice case for day to day stuff and I also use it in a backpack that has a stiffened compartment that's fur lined and it's all good. However, I would not recommend this case for what you've described. Any decent amount of pressure applied to the top half of the case is probably just going to transfer straight to the lid/top of the Mac, straight to the screen and probably onto the keyboard. This case is good for general light daily use and is best for helping to avoid scratching the Mac's body. Cheers, Dave.
I have ruined my macbooks in the past by using a hard shell case. You can apply a skin to the outside lid and bottom to prevent scratches and then put the macbook in a sleeve if you're going to put it in a backpack or bag. And no keyboard, trackpad, wristpad or screen covers...they will ruin your macbook

Have you tried the new Incase MacBook Pro cases?
Looks like the top lid doesn’t cover the full top case. I see the aluminum is exposed on the sides. This is similar to the tech21 and UAG. Even the Chinese brands on Amazon cover the full top case and sides. A little disappointing. I’ve never had a case that didn’t fully cover the sides of the top case. This could be a problem in the future as dust can scratch and debris and scratch the sides of the top case.
How is the case going for you one year on?
It’s still awesome. Mine is quite scratched up with fine scratches but that’s the case doing its job and protecting the MacBook and the MacBook still looks like it did on the day I bought it. I’m due to sell my MacBook soon and when I do the next person will have a perfect condition second hand MacBook. So as far as I’m concerned this case has been a great buy. BTW the case has been on my MacBook for over 2 years now, so it really has been great value for money. Cheers, Dave.
