For the people who want a more quiet sound on their keyboard, you can lube the switches, foam the interior of the keyboard, get some o-rings which prevent the Keycaps from hitting the bottom…so, you can get many sounds and keep the one you like :)
i do not recommend o-rings, go for silent switches if you do not want noise! o-rings totally throw off the feel and create a mushy sensation we get from membranes 😅

Stands are great. I use a fold up portable stand that works great, and keeps laptops cooler, but the front down on the table more than yours, so i can still use it with the built in keyboard and trackpad easy. If you get a large soft desk pad, you want a stand for sure due to possible heat issues.
When I was setting up my new MacBook Pro 14”, I tried migrating over Wifi, big mistake. So then I tried USB-C, but it didn’t do anything. So I had to go to three stores to find a Thunderbolt 3 cable. I finally did at an Apple retailer. The migration took less than an hour when over Wifi it was still loading after 14 hours. It saved my life.
I have the base 14 the damn fans have only turned on on a Cinebench test otherwise its always said 0. I don't need anything but my usb C to usb A adapter. If this computer had one usb A on the right it would be perfection.

Great video but I’d love to see some recommendations on skins or hard cases for the MacBook Pro 16. It’s a big investment and I don’t want to make a scratch on mine!
While the Logitech MX Master mouse is useful in a lot of ways, the sensor in it is far from the most accurate I've ever used. For more precise applications like gaming or even graphic design, a Zowie mouse is much better suited imo. The difference is substantial. Admittedly you do give up a lot of the convenience though.
MX Master 3 for Mac scrolling sucks... Tried all solutions, only Mos made it somewhat usable, but it was still a waste of $100 cause I never ended up using it. First & last product I buy from Logitech, cause I trusted their brand image and both they & reviewers failed to mention the horrible scrolling.
can I ask does it work when you boot or you have to use the laptop keyboard to type your password? I have the MX keys in my iMac, but I cannot log-in with the MX keyboard. I have to have my apple keyboard to log-in, and once logged-in, the mx keyboard gets detected. it seems the computer needs some time to authorized or approve the keyboard. what is your experience?
Sometimes I have to turn off the Logitech and back on before it pairs. Other times, you have to press a key until the dots start in the login field, then erase it all and enter again.
My top accessories would be an Anker ethernet dongle and some USB-C to A converters. I'd also recommend some mid priced closed back headphones. You are missing a treat if you don't have some with the MBP 16". I have some Sennheisers that I use. I like the idea of those arc stands but I would constantly knock whatever is in them over. It would be nice to have some recommendations for lap rests for MacBooks or breakfast stands for those who don't want to get out of bed and Messenger bags designed for the 16 inch.
Cool stuff! Just to add, that’s a GMMK or GMMK2, not sure which but definitely not the GMMK pro! All great keyboards, try out silent switches if you really want quiet.
I use a laptop stand while the PC is connected to an external monitor because with modern devices like my XPS 15, the built in display works well as a second monitor. If you are creating a desk setup for a laptop, a stand is an absolute must for ergonomics.

you may have mentioned this in a different video, but for the 14 inch pros, how much of a difference does it make between the base chip and the 10cpu and 14 gpu on battery life and fan noise?
Tons max tech has a video. Its the reason I went with the base the fans are just never on and the battery is almost as good as the base 16. In my normal use I have never seen the cpu go past 48C. Have you ever gotten the Bluetooth Titan Security Key to work on MacOS (or iOS/iPadOS)? I've been using the same physical key as you for years and it's great, but I would LOVE it if I could get the bluetooth one to work.....
Hi everyone, cant i connect a bluetooth mouse directly to this laptop? What mouse is compatible directly to connect to this laptop? The bluetooth mouse is a logitech g pro wireless
I don’t like that mouse, the thumb button to go to mission control is a pain to press. It should have been on the side of the mouse as opposed to the bottom.
Have been having lots of issues with my MX Master 3 for Mac since I started using it with my new Macbook Pro m1 2021. Scrolling issues, laggy -- what am I missing? Is there a new software update or settings that need to be changed to use this mouse as was possible with intel based Macbooks?
Hey Gary, have you had any compatibility issues with the GMMK keyboard with the Mac OS? I have read that the software for the GMMK keyboards is not compatible and does not allow for a lot of customization such as RGB. Any feedback in that regard? Thanks for the great video! Looking to pick up a GMMK PRO for my 16" M1 PRO
I'm in the market for a new keyboard and mouse since my Logitech K811 of 7 years just died suddenly tonight and the G900 mouse is showing it's age, being 6 years old. It still works, but the RGB lights are going & it's software isn't M1 supported. The MX Master 3 mouse I've heard has jittery issues as well as not being able to be used while charging. Have you experienced these?
Great video! Thanks. Frankly, I can’t imagine using any keyboard other than Apple’s Magic keyboard. I find mechanical keyboards not nearly as ergonomic for my tiny hands. Likewise, for me the big advantage to working in a laptop (my M1 Pro MBP 16 inch) over working on my 24 inch iMac is that I am looking down at the keyboard rather than craning my neck back to look at an external monitor (or the iMac’s monitor). I suspect this is because I am 1. short and 2. presbyopic (need bifocals); getting my eyes lined up properly to look through the intermediate or near focus area of my progressive lenses requires that I crane my chin upwards uncomfortably. In fact, if I use my iMac to read or type for more than a few minutes, I find I need to take off my glasses and simply move a tad closer to the iMac screen. So this is clearly a case of YMMV.

We musicians use the Focusrite Scarlett to plug our guitar or bass into and that ports right to a DAW. Great budget option for recording instruments.
Also loving the new UAD spark 276. But for audio on a budget, you can’t beat the focusrite Scarlett products.
