I love how Alan isn't surprised, he is mildly interested
If you worked there as long as he has would you be surprised by anything anymore?
@@jemherondale4259 exactly my point
This is what has me chortling too
kinda surprised alan didn't ask him to hang out more over beers etc.
I think Alan is just used to Rowan's odd behavior =)
"YOU SHALL NOT PRINT!" The Administrator
To be honest, its more a printer thing that happen E.V.E.R.Y freaking day....
He is missing yellow for a black and white print
@@bastiallwin8576 LOL yeah, thats true (or he simply dont want to print a this precise moment).
But only in 4:3
To be fair, he's protecting you from the demons that reside inside the printers. Printers ARE EVIL
I absolutely love Adam’s switch from Adam to goblin.
That was great! lol
The differences between the fawning of Rowan and Adam and Alan's near disinterest and unawed manner is hilarious. Coupled with THE ADMINISTRATOR barely acknowledging the first two. Loved it.
Just needed the Admin to start talking about DOS and Alan to talk back, understanding for the circle to be complete, lol.
I'm just waiting for the Agent Smith of this universe to destroy Alan by telling him, "You can't print in color... The printer is out of magenta."
Or if it's a HP, "You can't print black and white since the yellow is empty"
Your ink subscription has to be renewed. You only have 740 hours left, which exceeds your extended warranty, so for no particular reason.. *ACCESS DENIED*

That's deep
If only he was allowed to spend all the money in the world to buy upgrades
The administrator is a genie
Cold line icl
Its also a genie. Full ending power but a prisoner of the lamp, right? 🤣
Being super nit-picky here, but there should be a semicolon after the word serve. He isn't saying he was built to serve a god, he's saying he was built to serve and IS a god, but also a prisoner. So "Full unending power, built to serve; a god, and yet....a prisoner".
Not often I laugh out loud but Adam going full igor/gollum sent me.
God John Callen is good.
"YOU SHALL NOT PRINT!"-. Gandalf the administrator
It's Matrix....
This is how you look as an IT specialist to normal breathing and thinking employees. Mere mortals cannot fathom the great power that comes with admin access.
And with "the black box of power" (command prompt). Or when "the true chosen one" opens PowerShell, that is when the fun really begins.
Hahaha, when I worked as IT in my university, a professor keep pretend to do this and my boss said "He just want the best PC parts or computer available for his department" and he plays along ;p

From now on, everytime I use Administrator mode this video will play in my head. (Love the whole Matrix reference too haha)
What got me was the fact that Adam was acting like a Igor or Gollum
He gave more of an Igor vibe than Gollum. He was still standing and not on all fours and he was mimicking a hunch)
@@SebastienGendron-uk4po I figured that was the type of vibe that I was feeling but I wasn't quite fully sure at first
Igor fetch me the keys!
It's actually "Ygor". You can see the name in "The Son of Frankenstein" with Basil Rathbone.
Exactly.
The fact that Rowan and Adam are terrified of the Administrator shows there is something else hidden beneath the benevolence he showed Alan.
I will point out that you are talking about Rowan and Adam. Rowan could be terrified by a game of peekaboo.
It's called Permissions, controlled by the arcane art known as Active Directory. The administrator giveth, but he can also taketh away.
Y’all are amazing ❤
I think it's like cavemen watching technology. They would be scared even by artificial light
He has been observing young Alan and has chosen him as his successor.
This NEEDS to become a series ending in an epic battle against an Optimecanical Monstrum called The Epson™Brother™ that has aquired a High Power Ink Canon™ (in short: HP™ Inc.) that the protagonists have failed to protect (against the administrator's advice) in a previous Episode due to a devious subscription lockdown charade making them believe it could never be functional.
I love how Adam turns full Goblin the moment he gives the keys 😂😂😂😂
I don't think they were aiming for goblin. The way he holds the keys and light I think this was a homage to old horror movies where the master/landlord/villain always has a crooked, weird butler/servant/minion.

I love that the Windows admin sits by an old Apple xD
It's used as a lightning rod. When something in the system wants to crash, he routes it through the Apple. Since the Apple is already crashed, because it is an Apple, the software decides it has successfully crashed, and goes back to working normally.

Fortunately it has been years since I had to discover the arcane process of giving yourself "administrator priviledges" over my own computer, but the surreality of seeing an error message mention the "administrator" as if it were some other person when you know perfectly well that only one person owns and uses the machine sticks with you.
Yeah: when I saw the title I was questioning if it should be windows-specific.
Even XKCD 838 talks about the "This incident will be reported." message from sudo.
@@jamesphillips2285 Actually, I happen to be the guy who's been filing the reports for all those incidents for the past 40 years. You're welcome.
Fun fact: the administrator account on Windows is actually not THE actual true admin account with full 0 level access. That's a whole other process to get to on most machines.
Honestly, even in a home environment where you are the administrator for your computer, you should probably not use the admin account for daily tasks (especially browsing the internet). If you are using a standard user account and it gets compromised, the level of access over your machine is (theoretically) very limited. If your admin account gets compromised, it can lead to all kinds of problems.
@@Kefroth1 If your store-bought laptop or pc came with windows, 99% likely it's not a pro version that gives you the option to make alternate accounts with pseudo-admin features. Note that in Linux, this is the default for many installer packages.

We've all known of administrators like this hidden away somewhere identities hidden. Chosen by mysterious circumstances.
All these years, and the admin never got a new computer. Yep, he's IT all right.
Well if it ain't broke don't fix it and considering modern day computers are getting prone to that I don't blame him
what if any new software or hardware makes him unable to work, huh?! have you though of that?
I am the Administrator, and you speak the truth.
Did you even notice that the *Windows* admin was using a Mac?

In the world of IT l, anything is possible
One of my favorite bits in this skit was seeing the Architect - oops! Sorry! - the Administrator grind up that computer chip with a mortar and pestle.
Don’t say Architect… he’s definitely not the architect… we didn’t base this entire skit on the matrix
@@VivaLaDirtLeague obviously not - you clearly couldn't choose between the red pill or the blue pill and therefore included both in your logo!
@@VivaLaDirtLeague Clearly this obscure unknown movie has never been referenced in any way, line or frame in any skits of the VLDL extended universes. Sacrificing a DRAM module was definitely a nice touch for the skit. Though usually when we're sacrificing those to the Administrator it's to run the pseudo-security bloatware that actually decreases overall security by intentionally subverting multiple security features of the operating system.

That takes me back.. When I was working in IT support, most of the time I was fixing printer issues in that company. I got so good at it, people actually demanded for me to come over instead of one of my coworkers...
I submit that the Administrator and Rodney the janitor are the same person. He forged the Gold shirt to introduce chaos into the workplace. First off, the basement is a common place to keep cleaning supplies. It's the perfect cover for a base of operations. The administrator wanted chaos to maintain his control. He would create distractions to hide his machinations.
